3. Chapter Three

Sarah’s Point Of View

I had to pick out the perfect to impress an international superstar. I picked my floral dress, white leggings, teal sandals, a teal purse and a heart necklace.

See my outfit here:

I walked down the stairs and asked Rachel and Emma who were watching Psych how I looked.

“Stunning” said Rachel.

“Beautiful!” Emma added.

“I know right!” I said as we all laughed.

I walked to Hyde Park with a smile on my face the whole time.

I spotted Zayn and started to walk over to the red and white checked blanket he had laid there. There were two paper plates filled with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He smiled and his brown eyes twinkled as I sat down next to him. I frowned.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“It’s just that… well I’m allergic to nuts.” I said feeling bad because he probably put a lot of effort into it and I put it to waste.

“Oh,” he frowned. “But luckily I already thought of that so…”

He reached into the picnic basket and pulled out two sandwiched wrapped in plastic wrap.

“I brought back up sandwiches! Chicken and mayo sandwiches! So is that all you’re allergic to, nuts?”

“No,” I explained “I’m also allergic to fish.”

“So you’ve never had fish and chips?”

I shook my head. “Nope”

“Well that’s messed up.”

“I agree” we tapped our chicken and mayo sandwiches together as if they were glasses.

“Cheers!” we both laughed.

“So what’s it like, ya know, being an international superstar?” I asked

“It’s definitely a lot busier than my old life but it’s also a lot more fun ‘cause we get to see all our fans and travel around the world and sing and just have fun.”

“Wow, that sounds a lot better than my life, the highlight of my life is that I get a good discount at Harrods.” I said.

“You were discovered through X Factor right?” I asked.

Zayn nodded “Yeah”

“Wouldn’t thousands of people in the crowd scare you? That would freak me out like crazy. Plus, Simon would horrify me if I tried out.” I said.

“You sing?”

“Yeah, a little bit, you know like in the shower, when no one is home, that kind of thing.”

“You want to belt out some tunes for me?” he asked in his British accent that is oh so cute!

“What, you mean like right here in front of anyone? No way! I could never do that, I am way too shy!” I blushed.

“Hey you don’t think I get shy or nervous? Before One Direction I was the shy guy in the background, I'm still shy now, but I faced my fear and look how far it’s gotten me.”

“Well you may be able to go up in front of thousands of people and sing, but I could never do that in a million years.”

Zayn nudged me, “Come on, I bet could help you with your stage fright. Do what I did, start out with small groups and progressively get bigger. That’s what I did.”

“But it’s not just that, I don’t even know if I'm good enough.”

“I bet you have the voice, you’ve got the awesome looks,” I started to blush. “You’re the complete package.”

By then I was blushing like crazy. “Thanks.” I leaned on his shoulder and he kissed my forehead and put his arm around me. We sat there for a while and then Mother Nature just had to kill the moment and make it rain. Oh, come on! The one time I have a real romantic moment you just have to ruin it don’t you? I thought. It started to pour in under a few minutes, and his car was too far away for us to get to so we hurried under a big willow tree. And as I was about to sit down, I slipped in puddle, getting my dress all wet and dirty. Zayn and I started laughing at my epic failure.

“What a fail.” I commented.

I didn’t have an umbrella or a jacket because the day seemed so nice when I was walking to the park. I started to shiver.

“Are you cold?” he asked.

“Yeah, a little.” I admitted.

Zayn took off his jacket and put over my shoulders.

“Oh, you don’t have to do that for-” I was interrupted by a nice, long kiss. Sparks flew everywhere.

After that we sat there under a big willow tree, his arm around me, and I was smiling so much, it wasn’t even funny. Never mind, I forgive you Mother N! I thought. The rain slowed to a stop at like six and eventually we packed up the picnic basket. I started to walk home, when Zayn called,

“Hey! You want a ride home?”

“Sure!” I called back.

He hopped into his car and drove towards me. I opened the door and got in. He popped in his Up All Night CD and skipped to track 10, Everything About You.

“This is my favourite song on this CD” I told him.

“Really? I like it too.”

We sang along to the whole song as I directed him to my house.

Zayn's Point Of View

The CD was on Save You Tonight when I turned the stereo down.

“So where do your parents live?” I asked Sarah, and soon regretted it.

Her smile faded. “They um, died in a car crash a few years back.”

“Oh… I'm sorry.”

“It’s okay.” She flashed a weak smile.

Sarah's Point Of View

We were on Stole My Heart when we were driving on my street.

“This is it.” I pointed to my house.

“Okay.” He pulled into the driveway.

We stood at the door; he started to lean in until we were about one millimetre apart. Then Julia opened the door apparently she was about to go grocery shopping. We pulled apart quickly.

“Oh! Sorry, my bad!” she apologized, walking around us.

I glared at her, and then my eyes met up with Zayn's again; I smiled and walked back into the house.

"See ya later love."
