Winner of the Crossover Competition! *_* I decided to combine two of my favourite fandoms - Harry Potter and Hunger Games to come up with - The Hogwarts Games! I've tried to pick up the story of Harry Potter from where JKR left it, so the main characters are the new generation of Potters and Weasleys. It's set in Hogwarts and I've incorporated the concept of the Games in here. I've really worked hard on this, so I hope you like it :)

36. Chapter Thirty-Six

The Minister for Magic himself, who had been fighting alongside Trevelyan from the very beginning and who was clearly under the Imperius Curse, was the first person that Albus thought who needed to be confronted. The Aurors could easily lift the Curse off him and that would open up Trevelyan’s disgusting truth for everybody to see. But how could he do that? Trevelyan wouldn’t let the Minister anywhere out of his sight.

And so, he decided, that if anybody needed to speak out the truth about themselves, it was Trevelyan.

Albus got on the podium where the Headmaster usually stood to address the students during Feasts. Before his eyes, enraged witches and wizards fought each other resiliently. It was never going to end this way. It was only after Lily and Hugo had pointed it out that he was seeing it but now he thought it should have been obvious. Without unveiling the truth about the villain here, nothing could be set right.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” he shouted but nobody seemed to be listening. Even the reporters who usually craved for some words to come out of his mouth didn’t seem to be interested. He cleared his throat and tried again. “Ladies and gentlemen!”

No response.

He sighed and tapped his wand to his throat, muttering, “Sonorus!” and his voice was magnified a hundredfold.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” This time, everybody turned to listen. “I would like to invite the Headmaster to explain his theories about the vicious Hogwarts Games before all of us right now.”

There was instantaneous confusion among everybody gathered in the Great Hall. They had been fighting for hours on end now and all of a sudden they were expected to hear the same memorized speech that Trevelyan gave on every occasion where he was expected to explain his theories. Of course they were annoyed.

The only person who looked pleased by this announcement was Trevelyan himself.

“The boy has come to his senses after all,” he said as he walked up to the podium and faced the audience. Then he put on his metallic voice and started. “The Hogwarts Games are a Ministry-approved form of competitive –”

“Sorry to interrupt, Headmaster,” said Albus, holding up the vial of Veritaserum for everyone to see. Gasps went around the crowd as soon as they realised what it was. Reported began clicking away in a frenzy. “This is the Truth Potion, Veritaserum. I would like you to take a draught of it before saying anything else.”

Horror flashed in Trevelyan’s eyes.

“That is just insolence, Potter.”

There was a roar of outrage from the crowds. They clearly wanted Trevelyan to take the potion. He couldn’t oppose the masses like this. But he couldn’t very well gulp down the potion either without having to spill the beans on himself. Albus had put him in a pretty tough place.

The next thing he knew, an Auror from the crowd had shot a spell at the Headmaster. Invisible ropes bound his arms and legs together and prevented him from moving. “What is going on?” he shrieked. Immediately, a whole group of Aurors had jumped on the podium and snatched the vial of Veritaserum from Albus’ hands. They forced Trevelyan’s mouth open, poured the potion in and made him to swallow.

Things were going to become a lot easier now.
