Louis stormed out of the hotel room, feeling as though smoke was surely coming out of his ears. As he stormed down the hallway and to the elevators, punching the down arrow, several thoughts ran through his head.

Who the hell did Alan think he was showing up like that? Did he still have feelings for Belle? Well of course he did, he'd be an idiot not to love that girl. But did Belle have feelings for him? Why did she want to speak to Alan alone? She said she cared about Alan, which were her exact same words to Louis just moments before that blonde headed prick showed up unannounced. So did that mean she thought of both of them as just friends or that she had feelings for the both of them? Everything had been so simple up to this point now Alan had to show up and make the whole situation so damn complicated!

The doors finally opened to the elevator and Louis stepped in, punching the button to the lobby. As the silver doors closed, he leaned back against the elevator wall and sighed, closing his eyes for a moment.

What the hell was he doing? Louis knew Belle thought of him as more than a friend, why was he jumping to conclusions? Belle had been saying, "No Louis, I didn't mean it like that," before he had rudely interrupted her and stormed out of the room. So what if she said she cared about Alan, no matter how much Louis disliked the guy, he did grow up with Belle. And Belle had said when they first met that he was the reason she had even auditioned as the band's opening act back in New York, so without Alan, Louis wouldn't have even met Belle. Maybe the guy wasn't so bad. After all, it would be pretty low of Louis to hate someone that cared about Belle's well being more so than their own.

Louis chuckled bitterly and put his head in his hands. He just had to go and screw up the best thing that ever happened to him.

The elevator doors opened once again with a 'ping' and Louis lifted his head, seeing that he had arrived in the lobby. An older couple stood on the other side of the elevator, looking at Louis expectantly and waiting on him to step out.

"Son?" The older guy asked. "You comin' out or are you going back up?"

Louis looked up at man for a moment before giving off a crooked smile. "You know what sir, I am going back up." He finally said, which just received him an odd look. Louis just grinned even wider and hopped out of the elevator before yanking open the door to the stairwell, which was located right beside the elevator doors. He was about to run up but instead turned back to the older couple who were still staring at him with confused amusement. "I'm going to get my girl to forgive me for being such an idiot."

With that, Louis began to run up the stairs, going two at a time. As the door behind him slowly shut he heard the old man and woman laughing, the man saying, "Ah, young love!"

"Damn him!" Belle shouted, burying her face in her hands as Alan moved to sit beside her on the bed. He chuckled and patted her knee.

"Oh don't say that Belle, you don't mean it."

"Yes I do!"

"No you don't."

"I swear I do Alan, I hate him, I--"

"Belle stop!" Alan interrupted, making Belle snap her head up. Alan had never used that tone with her. Ever since they were kids when Belle got upset, Alan just let her rant without even trying to interrupt and definitely never questioned her thought process. Alan smiled at Belle kindly before taking her face in his hands. "Belle you can lie to yourself but you sure as hell can't lie to me. I saw the way you looked at him. And I also saw the way he looked at you." Alan chukled sadly and released Belle's face, taking one of her hands in his own instead. "And as much as I hate to admit it, you guys seem like you'd make a good couple. I read about you in the papers and online and I've read some stuff about him too. He...he seems like a good guy, and it's obvious that he thinks the world of you."

Belle rolled her eyes and scoffed. "You think? Then why did he yell at me and storm out?"

Alan laughed and shook his head at Belle's oblivious mindset. "Because he's a guy Belle. He was threatened by me and instead of waiting to see the situation or talking to you about it, he stormed out because he was afraid of being rejected. He'd rather run away then stick around and be your second choice."

Belle relaxed her shoulders and looked down at her lap. Alan's thinking made sense. Louis was a sensitive guy, and he still hadn't made a move to make things official between them, he was probably terrified of her saying no. But she wouldn't do that, she liked him so much wasn't that obvious?

Alan chuckled yet again and hooked an arm around Belle's shoulders in a strictly friendly manner. "Damn, I never thought I'd be giving love advice to the girl I used to love."

Belle jerked her head and looked up at Alan incredulously. "Used to love?"

Alan grinned and blushed a bit. "Yeah, used to. Belle you're fantastic and I was so smitten with you for the longest time and I honestly thought I'd never get over you, but..."

"Oh my gosh!" Belle screeched. "You've got a girl!"

Alan laughed and leaned into Belle playfully. "Yeah, I got a girl." He muttered, blushing bright red.

"Why didn't you say so earlier?" Belle asked, surprise evident in her voice.

Alan just shrugged and said, "I don't know. I wanted to come and say bye to you before you left for tour, I'm actually here with Arabella on vacation we're only staying for two more days then we're going to Paris."

"Her name is Arabella?" Belle asked incredulously. "That's know, it's--"

"It's just a coincidence that your names are similar I didn't plan it that way!" Alan said defensively.

Belle threw her head back and laughed. "Yeah, sure you didn't you creep!" She said playfully, pushing his chest with her hand.

Alan smiled and looked down, the red slowly fading from his tan cheeks. Belle smiled thoughtfully. "I'm happy for you Alan, I really am."

Alan looked back at her and smiled as well. "Thanks Belle. You don't know how much that means to me. And you know I love you babe, but now it's definitely just a brother-sister love, okay?"

Belle showed her teeth as she grinned from ear to ear, sticking her hand out in a mock business-like fashion. She imitated her father's business voice as she said, "You got it Fuller, sounds like a plan."

Alan laughed and took her hand, imitating his own father as well. "Sounds good Costa, I look forward to working with you."

The two old friends dissolved into a fit of giggles and Alan stood up from the bed, Belle following suit. He wrapped his arms around her neck and hugged her tightly. Belle reciprocated, smiling into his chest. This was how it was supposed to be: her and Alan hugging and comforting each other, laughing and cutting up as old friends and nothing more. Louis was who she was meant to be with.

Alan let go and smiled down at Belle, towering over her petite frame. He put an index finger under her chin. "And don't you worry about that Louis guy, he'll be back."

Belle bit her bottom lip. "How do you know?" She asked quietly.

"Trust me, he'll be back. He'd be an idiot to let you go."

Belle smiled and nodded. Alan hugged her one more time before walking over to the door, putting his hand on the handle and turning back to face Belle one more time. "And Belle?"

"I'm proud of you babe. You did it. You really did it."

Belle's heart swelled and she inhaled sharply, happy tears pricking at her eyes. She couldn't say anything for fear her voice would come out weird, so she just nodded and pursed her lips tightly. Alan smiled and exited the room.

Almost as if on cue, Louis rounded the corner, his face red and his hair messed up from its usual gelled updo from running up the stairs. He saw Alan and his eyes got wide and his jaw immediately clenched.

Alan held his hands up. "No worries man, I was just leaving. As a matter of fact, I just told Belle that I only came by to wish her luck on the tour and tell her that I have a girlfriend."

Louis relaxed and cocked his head at Alan. "Girlfriend?"

Alan chuckled and lowered his hands, putting them in his jean pockets. "Yeah, girlfriend. I don't think of Belle like that anymore, and besides, she likes you dude."

"How do you...?"

"I grew up with Belle. Trust me, I know."

Louis nodded and looked down at his feet, trying to take in this new information. So Alan wasn't in love with Belle anymore? And he had just come by to wish her well on the tour, not to try and steal her away? Wow, Louis really had jumped to conclusions.

"Hey look mate, I'm sorry." Louis said sincerely. "I thought that you liked her as more than a friend and I was afraid that--"

"Afraid she'd pick me over you." Alan interrupted with a knowing tone. "I figured as much. But no, it's her and you man. So I suggest that you go get her back before it's too late. Belle doesn't like to be kept waiting."

With that, Alan nodded once at Louis before walking past him towards the elevators. Louis turned and watched as Alan stepped in and gave him one more nod before the doors closed shut, leaving Louis alone in the hallway once again.

So Belle and Alan were just friends and nothing more, almost like brother and sister. And now Louis definitely didn't have to worry, because Alan had a girlfriend.

Louis smiled in spite of himself. Things were going to work out for him after all.

With that final thought, Louis sprinted down to Belle's hotel door and knocked furiously. It only took seconds for Belle to open the door.

"Louis please, you've got to listen to me, Alan has a girlfriend, he wasn't here to try anything with me, he just wanted to wish me good luck because he knows I'm leaving and he said that you--"

Louis cut off Belle's high pitched rambling by grabbing either side of her face and pressing his lips against hers. Belle was shocked at first but only a second had to pass before she melted against his body, laying her hand on his chest and feeling his heart fluttering underneath his hard torso. The kiss lasted for several seconds and Louis broke away with a gasp, resting his forehead against Belle's. Their breathing was ragged and uneven.

"Be my girl Belle." He said simply. "I want you to be mine. Officially. Be my girlfriend?"

Belle grinned from ear to ear and bit her bottom lip in the adorable way she did out of habit. "Okay Louis." She said in an almost whisper. "I'll be your girl."

Louis smiled wide and kissed Belle again, pushing her back into the room and kicking the door shut behind him.

Belle was his.

Meanwhile, in the elevator...

Alan pressed the emergency stop button and pulled out his phone in the dark empty elevator. He pressed the speed dial, his face stone cold as he heard the ringing on the other end. It was picked up after just two rings.

"You better have a damn good report for me Alan. Did you find her?"

"Yes, finally. Had to go to fucking three hotels before I got the right one."

"And I have her address and hotel room number. She was there with her boyfriend or whatever the hell he is, and I caused some drama, but nothing too major."

"Did you adjust and modify according to the situation?"

"Yeah. I had to tell her I had a girlfriend because her boyfriend was feeling threatened, but that's no big deal. She suspects nothing."

"Good, that shows she still trusts you. We can move to phase two now." There was a silence on the other end for a moment. "You did well Alan. If everything else goes according to plan then you and I will take down your father's industry no sweat."

Alan smirked evilly before pressing the emergency stop button again, the elevator jolting back to life.

"Oh it'll go to plan alright. My father won't know what hit his precious little company." Alan smiled smugly at his own reflection in silver elevator doors before addressing the man on the other end of the phone.

"I'll keep you updated Mr. Costa."
