For the love of my daughter {One Direction}

"I told you to stay out of my life Sam! You said you didn't want anything to do with her, so why do you suddenly care when she's happy!?"
"She's my daughter, I know what's best for her!"
"You know shit! You've never been here for her! You don't even know her! Just leave us alone!"
"I want her out of the media Alex!"
"She likes being with the boys!"
"I'm taking this to the police!"
"Yeah do that. I have the custody so you can do shit about it!"
I knew Sam had never liked One Direction, but taking them out of Caitlin's life now that she finally had them in real life wasn't fair, though I couldn't help but wonder if he was right. Was it really good for my daughter to be surrounded by the paparazzi whenever she was with one of the boys?
My name is Alexandria Griffin, but call me Alex, I'm an 18 year old model and mother for a 4 year old girl.

11. Coffee with Niall

I woke up in the morning because my phone was vibrating. I stretched and yawned before I reached out for my phone.

I looked at it and saw a new text from an unknown number.

"Hey Alex, I was wondering if we could meet up for coffee in about an hour? - Niall"

I read the text a couple of times and then looked at the time. It was 10 am already. I looked down beside me. Caitlin had snuck out of the bed already.

I texted Niall back before I got out of the bed to find Caitlin.

"I'd love to Niall. What about coffee down by Battersea Park?"

Niall was a fast texter so I had a reply before I was even out of the bed.

"Sure meet me there at 11"

"I will."

I got up from the bed and went into the living room where I found Nick and Caitlin playing with something on the floor.

"Good morning."

Caitlin got up from the floor and hugged me.

"Hi sweetie."

I lifted her up and hugged her for a short while before I sat down on the edge of the couch. With Caitlin back on the floor playing with her toys.

I was having that begging tone in my voice and he just turned around to look at me with a smirk on his face.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Do you have any plans before 2pm?"

"I'm meeting with Sam at 1.30 why?"

"Can you take care if Caitlin until 2?"

"Of course! Where are you heading?"

"Coffee with a friend of mine, and then I have to go check on another friend."

"Who are these friends of yours?"

"Niall Horan and Harry Styles."

I looked at the ground but I could feel Nick's look at me.

"You should stay away from them."

"Because they are famous?"

"No because I would hate seeing you in the spotlight."

"I'm already printed over the internet."

"I know, but we don't need to make it worse do we?"

"I'm old enough to know what's best for myself."

“No you think you do, but you’re only 18 Alex.”

“Yeah but yet I’ve raised my daughter and lived for myself for the past 2 years without having mum to help me out with every single thing. Will you please just take care of her for a couple of hours? I promise I’ll be back by 2.”

“I’ll take care of her.”

I got up from my place on the couch and hurried to get ready. I knew Niall was gonna be on time when he was the one who asked me to meet up. While I was getting ready I was wondering why Niall wanted to meet up with me. We hadn’t really spoken much…

Soon I was ready to leave and went out of the door after saying goodbye to both Caitlin and Nick. My mum was at work. Nick didn’t have a job in time, so he was just walking around at home, but I guess he was looking for something.

The weather was nice and perfect for a September day in London. I drove down the road and then turned right. The ride was only about 2 miles but honestly I didn’t care. I took my car wherever I went.

I drove over the bridge and saw Battersea Park as soon as I had crossed the bridge. It was such a beautiful place. I drove to the end of the park and found a place to park my car. As soon as I had parked I found my phone. Niall had texted me the place he was at. Obviously it was some weird café, but it wasn’t far away from where I parked and I knew the place.

I walked down the street to the café and found Niall as soon as I stepped in. He had already ordered coffee for both of us.

“Hi Alex.”

He handed me a coffee and then showed me the way to a table that he had obviously chosen before I got here.

We sat down and in the beginning there was some awkward silence but soon we were talking about everything and nothing.

“So what have you been up to all week?”

Niall looked at me, playing with the paper cup in his hand.

“I’ve had a fashion show to practice for the most of the week and then I had some training and a couple of meetings and a make-up tutorial course Thursday. And over the weekend we had the fashion show. And then I have of course been taking care of my flat and Caitlin. I have also had my agent over for dinner, which was actually really nice.”

“Sounds nice. How is Caitlin?”

“She seemed okay this morning but I’m actually not sure. We’re staying with my mum for a while because we have nowhere else to go.”

“But what about your flat?”

“I’m putting it for sale.”

“But why?”

“Because my roommate who was supposed to be my best friend let me down.”

I felt the anger grow inside of me just by the thought about what happened last night.

“What happened Alex?”

“I got home around 5pm after the catwalk last night and everything I could hear was the entire flat filled with Caitlin’s scream and crying. I found her crying in her room where she had hurt her hands and gotten a scrape over one of her knees. I’m guessing that she has fallen or something, but where was Emily who was supposed to take care of her?”

“I don’t know? Where was she?”

“When I had gotten Caitlin up from the floor and comforted her enough so she wasn’t crying I searched the entire flat. Ending at her room. I found her in her with her boyfriend. She let me down for her boyfriend. She hadn’t taken care of Caitlin at all. She had just ignored her crying and screaming even though she was just on the other side of the hall. And she could actually enjoy her boyfriend’s company even though she could hear her scream and cry. Caitlin is four years old for God sake!”

I felt the tears press against my eyelids again and I couldn’t help but take a deep breath and try to calm myself down again. I was so angry with her for what she had done to me and to Caitlin.

Niall looked really surprised he couldn’t understand it either.

“I’m sorry Alex.”

“it’s okay, I just gotta figure out what to do now. I can’t stay with my mum for long as my stupid ex-boyfriend is around all the time and he has no rights to visit our daughter.”

“Then come stay with us for a time.”

“I couldn’t Niall. It’s too much when I just got to know you all.”

“It’s okay. I don’t think any of the boys would mind. Especially not Harry. He hasn’t been able to shut up about you since you were there last week.”

“He hasn’t?”

“Of course not. He’s Harry.”

“Oh… yeah Harry.”

I took a huge gulp of my coffee not thinking about the temperature of it at all.

Niall and I spoke for another hour and then I looked at my watch. It was 12.30 already, and if I wanted to go check on Harry as well I had to hurry up a bit.

“What’s wrong?”

“I have to be home soon. Nick is taking care of Caitlin till I get back, but I know Sam is coming over in an hour and I don’t want her to be around him.”

“Let’s go pick her up and spend the afternoon at my place then?”

“You sure it won’t be too much trouble?”

“We have a day off. Beside the girls are there as well.”

“Is Danielle there?”

“Yeah of course. She’s been with Liam for I don’t know how long now.”

“They love each other Niall, and trust me. You’ll find someone perfect soon.”

I smiled at him and stroke his hand with my thumb. He knew I was right. Some things were worth waiting for and true love was one of them.

We finished our coffees and drove back to Chelsea. Niall was right behind me even though it was a waste of gas that we were driving right in the ass of each other.

We pulled up at my old house and spoke all the way up to the door. It was 1.18 already so I knew Sam would be here any minute.

We opened the door and I heard Nick and Caitlin talk in the living room, but soon another voice appeared. A voice I hated. What was Sam doing here already?

“Nick? I’m back.”

I walked into the living room still wearing my shoes and soon followed by Niall, who got a death glare from Sam.

“Nick, Sam, this is Niall.”

Caitlin got up from her drawings on the floor and wrapped her arms around Niall’s legs.

“Hey princess.”

“What’s he doing here?”

Sam looked at me with a disgusted face and then over at Niall who was standing with Caitlin in his arms.

“He happens to be my friend, and we happen to be here to pick up MY daughter and go hang out with some of our other friends. I promised Nick that I would take her the rest of the day all he had to do was take care of her while I was out getting coffee with a friend.”

“And let me guess that friend was him?”

“Yes he was Sam. Any other questions you’d like to ask me now that we’re playing 20 questions anyway?”

Nick looked at me with a serious expression written all over his face as I was starting to get annoyed by Sam.

“We’ll be home later. Just call me if you need me.”

“We will.”

“Not you Sam.”

I gave him a death glare before I turned around and took Caitlin from Niall and put her on the ground. She was old enough to walk for herself even though we loved carrying her around. We got Caitlin in her shoes and found her a thin jacket and soon we were back in the cars and drove back to the huge flat that all of the boys shared. I loved being there even though I had only been there twice, but there was just something about being with them all and just hang out as regular people.
