Bound [Book #1]

They are connected by the fact that they've all died and been brought back.

This is a trilogy. Look for the other two books:

21. Twenty-One.

“Don't touch her,” I snarled, lifting my still flame hands. The fire burned, but I didn't feel it. All I felt was pain, grief, anger and rage.

The rage fueled me.

I lunged at Claudia, but stopped. Julia stood in front of her, her eyes hard.

“You're not going to hurt her,” she said. Her voice was strange. “We're going to take you to Jev now, Vivian.” She smiled eerily. “It's better this way.”

“Better?” I said with disgust. “Julia, Terry is dead.”

“Is he?” she asked. She moved over to his body and nudged him with her foot. “Well, look at that. Serves him right, don't you think?”

“No,” I said, tears stinging my eyes. I walked up to Julia and pressed my forehead against hers. Then I cried. “What happened to you?” I whispered.

She smiled, placed her hands on my chest, and pried me away from her like I was a rodent.

“Filth,” she hissed at me.

“What did you do?” I demanded, glaring at Claudia.

“Absolutely nothing, darling.” She moved Julia out of the way and looked at me. “Why would you think that?”

I closed my eyes and slowly put my hands on Julia's arms. She screamed. She screamed so fucking loud that I started to sob. Someone yanked my shoulder from behind and everything stopped.

“Stop it,” a voice said. “You don't want to hurt her. You love her.”

My eyes snapped open and I whirled around. Mira stood behind me, a small smile on her face. Before I opened my mouth, she spoke again.

“I can help you,” she said. “I can bring him back.”

I wanted to believe her.
