Its Just A Fling

We promised that it was just going to be a fling, Harry! I protested." Even if I wanted it to be more, we couldn't do it because I live in America and girls will be throwing themselves at you every waking moment, I wouldn't want to drag you down" I stated, Okay maybe I was mocking him a little, but we agreed on just a fling, but he looked so sad, did he want it to be more? Did I?

1. lunch and detention

BEEP BEEP!!! My alarm clock screeched as I pulled myself away from the covers of my bed to shut it off. BEEP BEEP!! It kept going even though I turned it off. I rip it off the wall in anger, and cuss under my breath. Sighing, I realize that today is the last day of school until summer break. Smiling to myself I get dressed in a daze in my light blue crop top and some high waisted denim shorts. I straighten my light brown hair and put on light make-up. I slide on my black sandals and walk out the door. Unlocking the door to my mustard yellow retro Volkswagen, I spill all my coffee, barely missing my shirt. “Dammit!” I curse, putting the empty coffee cup in my car and getting in. My car roars to life and I pull out of the garage and drive to my school.     Pulling into my usual parking spot next to my best friend Abby, I see her making out with her new boyfriend Zack. I let out a big huff and tap her on the shoulder. “Don’t mean to interrupt or anything, but we are gonna be really late for art if you guys don’t stop sucking each other’s faces off.”  I said already walking off.       It wasn’t until art when I heard the click-clacking of Abby’s boots that I realized how soon our school break really was. Squealing in my seat like an idiot, I saw that I was bringing a lot of attention to myself. Blushing, and calming down a little, I tucked the hair behind my ear back into its place and started making a painting a new picture. I wasn’t really sure what it was going to be but for now it was going to be just a bunch of strokes. I wasn’t always the best artist, but I liked doing art so I guess that’s all that really matters.  *****************************3 periods later****************************   I went through the lunch line, grabbing a sandwich and a coke I waltzed over to my usual seat with Abby, Matthew, and Dylan. Abby and I have been best friends since we were toddlers and we became friends with Dylan and Matthew in sixth grade. We were two awkward little sixth graders who I guess looked pretty lost and they just came over and helped us get to our first class. We’ve been friends ever since.       “Maggie! Over here!” Dylan yelled across the room. I tucked my light brown hair behind my ear and walked over to where he was standing. “I think once Abby gets over here we should sit outside today” he told me. “Okay, but where is Abby anyways? She is usually here by now.” I asked “She had to stay after class with Mr. Hanover, something about flipping him off or something” Dylan sighed. Matthew, with his thick glasses, and dark blonde hair had his nose in whatever book he was reading today. He was a bit of a nerd, but he was still a sweetheart so we were really good friends. Dylan, with his dark black hair and piercing blue eyes and big muscular arms was somewhat of a jock, but he didn’t really care about being popular, just playing sports.  I’ll admit that I had a pretty big crush on Dylan in 8th grade but I eventually got over it not wanting to ruin our friendship.      Abby walked over, looking a bit flustered, but still the gorgeous girl that she was even though she had a small frown on her face. “What’s wrong Abby?” I asked her, seeing her flustered expression. “Well in history, Mr. Hanover yelled at me for something I didn’t even do and I flipped him off. I guess he didn’t really like that, so now I have detention this Friday…” she told us. “That sucks…but Abby, we leave for Colorado on Friday! It’s gonna take us over 5 hours so we had to leave after school to make it before midnight!” I exclaimed, clearly making a fool of myself but I didn’t care, I was just upset about not being able to leave after school. “Well I’m sorry Maggie; we will have to either leave after detention or tomorrow morning. No biggie” she said, clearly taken back at my outburst. “Yeah I guess not. Sorry for my yelling” I apologized. “Now let’s go eat lunch!” Dylan said with his fist in the air. “Yeah!” we all agreed walking outside to go eat our lunch.
