I Know You're There: Malevolent Innocence

*Conclusion to the I Know You're There trilogy* Reuben's dead. Never to return. Tori doesn't grieve, she gets on with her life. In fact, her and Damien's wedding is coming up. Sure, she loves him, but not like she loved Reuben. Everything's fine; absolutely fine. Despite the fact she cries herself to sleep, and prays for Reuben to come back every moment, everything's fine. What am I saying? It's Tori Hills, nothing's going to be fine, especially when she's about to devote her life to the wrong guy. 'I swear, if mine and Reuben's love was fire, we'd be nothing, but ash.'

21. 'Over your dead body.'

"It's moments like this, where I think I wanna marry you," Blake announced, nodding his head with each word.

"Over your dead body," Reuben half-jokingly, half-seriously snapped.

"The saying is over my dead body," I frowned at him, in confusion.

"Trust me, I know," Reuben laughed, and started adjusting his arms.

I rolled my eyes, and carefully lifted myself up, as far as possible. Strain pulled at my muscles, from the many of hours of laying around, doing nothing. Luckily, as a child, I took up both ballet, and gymnastics, so I was able to attempt a handstand, on the cuffs. Therefore, the phone would fall out of my pocket, and either Reuben or Blake would catch it.

Not too gracefully, I lifted myself around, and let out a breath of relief as I leant against the wall. Blood started rushing to my head, so I hoped the process would be quick. Awkwardly, I started moving my hips, trying to get my phone to budge. When I felt it sliding, I let out a strangled warning, and the guys moved their arms closer to me.

I felt it fall, and I prayed that they caught it. Relaxing, I fell from my handstand, painfully smacking my back against the wall, as I returned to my upright position. Groaning in pain, I glanced at them to see if they caught it. Thankfully, Reuben held it, pure relief on his face. Will looked slightly amused, about my decent from the handstand, and Blake looked indifferent.

"Who should I call?" Reuben asked, pulling himself up higher, so he could move his arm.

"Um... Ollie?" I suggested, unsure.

"Mollie!" his eyes widened, in realisation.

"Not Mollie! She's just... Um... It's too dangerous for her," I begged, not wanting her anywhere near us.

All three of them looked at me as if I was stupid, "Tori, what colour eyes does she have?" Blake said, slowly.

"Brown, almost black," I confidently responded, and then realised what he was implying, "Oh!"

Mollie was a Demon too! Oh my God, my brother was dating a Demon! Wait... So was I. Like brother, like sister. She seemed so pure, as if she couldn't hurt a fly. I knew her reasonably well, too, and she never talked about Angels or Demons. How could she not tell me?! Then again, how could I not notice myself?

Reuben quickly unlocked my phone, noticing that there wasn't much charge left. Mollie thankfully picked up after one ring, and knew what she had to do. Secretly, I was hoping she'd send someone else. She was my unbiological sister, and I didn't want her getting hurt.

After Reuben hung up, he his my phone somewhere in his clothes, so that they wouldn't suspect anything. For the next hour, we all remained silent. Blake and Will even fell asleep, their gentle breathing reminding me that we were still alive. Just about.

"They killed Drake," I whispered into the silence, hearing each word bounce off the walls.

"...I know," he shamefully replied, and I frowned.

"How... How do you know?" I asked, keeping my voice low.

"He sacrificed himself, to save Raven and I," he let out a long breath, "I told him not to, because it was stupid, but he did it anyway."

"Where's Raven, now?" I asked, praying that Reuben's sister was okay.

He sighed, "I don't know. I think they killed her too, but I'm not sure," a tear slipped from his blue eye, which he wiped away with his upper arm.

Not another word followed. It just wasn't fair! They couldn't have killed Raven... Why would they? They had no reason to. Raven was the most innocent girl ever... But then again, they'd killed Drake. These people were cold blooded, heartless, unemotional psychos.

Letting out a long breath, I tried to let sleep take me. Unfortunately for me, my thoughts were buzzing through my mind, not allowing sleep to overcome me.

"They're planning to keep you," Reuben broke the silence that time, his eyes trailed in the distance.

"Keep me?" I questioned, unsure of what he meant.

"They're going to drug you, and mix your memory up. Every thought you've ever had of me, or Raven, or Shane, anyone you love, will turn into hate. You'll work for them, as bait, to draw in Demons," he sucked in a deep breath, "They're going to keep you."

Long time, no update.

I've got some exams and stuff, so I've been concentrating on them. After this week, you'll have my full attention! I got the whole drugging, memory changing thing, from the Hunger Games, when President Snow uses Tracker Jacker poison to muck Peeta's memory up. Thanks for sticking with me, even when I take forever to update!! x
