13. Downhill part 1

The pressure was becoming more than I could bear.
"Set your alarm for 5:30 a.m. you're doing a performance at 8." Kathy said.
"Okay."
I was onto month 3 and 1/2 now and I only spoke to Harry maybe twice since I sent him the video. I really doubted myself about everything.
"Oh and you have an interview later and you're making an appearance at a mall for a signing in 2 hours." I slammed my head down on the table I was seating at. I was already in the middle of signing hundreds of CD sleeves for the album and my hand was starting to cramp from it.
"Don't lay on the job!" Kathy said coming over to me. I heard her feet shuffle along the carpet and I picked my head up.
"How many did you do?"
"A million." I stated. She moved the pile I made around and nodded.
"Okay you're good." I jumped out of my seat and raced to the door.
"To the car!" She shouted after me. The other people who were in the room just stood there as I ran to the car outside. There was few people walking around and some fans came up to me so I signed a few autographs and took a few pictures before sending them on their way.
Kathy drove me to the mall to get ready for my appearance and there were thousands of fans waiting outside. It was something you'd see for One Direction. Kathy's red Porsche kind of became a trademark when I traveled; the fans all knew who was inside and they absolutely freaked when they saw the red car drive through the mall. Security held them back as we drove behind the mall and I could see the fans crying because of me. I got out of the car and was whisked away inside. They started to let the fans in and they were chanting, "Victoria! Victoria!" By now I was used to this but it was still cool to hear. I was eventually let out for the crowd to see and the screams and cheers roared throughout the whole mall as I took my seat at the stage. The fans started to come up one by one or in small groups and I couldn’t believe how much some of them were crying. I made it worth their while though; I made small talk with them hugged them if they asked for one and I would write a small message when I autographed their things. A bunch of people asked about Harry and I didn’t want to answer truthfully so I just said, "He's good." but nothing more.
Many of the girls wanted me to sign their 1D posters and I thought that was rather odd. In between fans coming up and leaving I'd steal a glance at the crowd. Harry posters were being held up high the air everywhere and I couldn’t take it. The signing finally ended; I was so tired and my hands hurt from all the writing I did. I was taken to the interview I had as soon as we got the 'okay' to leave. Fans started to chase the Porsche but we out ran them quickly. I took a quick nap and I was at the TV station for the interview when I woke up. I went inside and did a quick hair and makeup check before getting introduced on to the stage.
"Hi Victoria." The host cheered.
"Hi." I beamed.
"Now I understand that you are the youngest female artist ever to have this much success in their career."
"Yeah, it's a lot of hard work though." I pointed out.
"I'm sure but isn’t it fun?"
"Of course it is but it takes away from your personal life."
"Oh yes I know. You and Harry Styles! You are officially the youngest couple in the fame world. How's everything going?" I didn’t want to answer but I knew I had no other choice.
"Well, um it's….good." I managed to get out.
"That doesn’t sound good." I looked over to the audience and I could see girls with 1D shirts on and staring, waiting to hear my answer.
"I haven’t seen him since I left the airport and, we've been trying to talk, but I don’t know, it's hard."
"I understand. When do you think you'll see him?" For some reason talking about this brought tears to my eyes. The host handed me a tissue and I tried to laugh lightly to make the pain seem less painful.
"I don't know." I sniffed, "I don't know." I folded my hands in my lap and the interview soon ended. I wiped the last of my tears away and exited the stage to leave.

Harry's P.O.V

I had a 2 hour break in between photo shoots with the band and I saw the rest of them sitting on the couch watching TV. Liam flicked through the channels carelessly. I stopped him when I saw Victoria on one of the channels and I jumped over the couch. She was doing an interview and she looked really uncomfortable.
"Speaking of personal life how's your relationship?" The host asked. She didn’t look like she wanted to answer though and I was on the edge of my seat staring intently.
"Well, um it's….good." The way she said it tugged at my heart a little.
"That doesn’t sound good."
"I haven’t seen him since I left the airport and, we've been trying to talk, but I don’t know, it's hard." It was my fault we haven’t been talking as much. We were both just so busy though.
"I understand. When do you think you'll see him?" Her eyes started to water and I covered my mouth to hide how I felt.
"I don't know." I sniffed, "I don't know." I leaned back rubbing my face and Louis rubbed my shoulder as I watched her leave the stage.
"It'll be alright mate." He said.

Victoria's P.O.V

I pulled out my phone and called Danielle right away.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Danielle, I need your help." I said in a worried tone.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"It's Harry…." I started to say.
"What happened?!" Her voice grew higher.
"I don't know if I can keep doing this."
"You'll see him soon and--" I cut her off.
"I won't though. I haven’t talked to him in a while and he sent me a video message and all but it's not the same. My career is at a high point now and he has his music and all and I can't keep going on just knowing he's with me. I have to actually feel it to you know?"
"I get it. You guys are just so perfect together, and he cares about you so much." She said.
"It's just too much you know?"
"Yeah but just think it over okay?"
"Okay."
