Remembering The Past (How I Know How)

Everyone knows Carly Curson. If you don't, have you been living under a rock for the past thirty years? With more Grammy awards than thought possible, a loving husband and three kids, her life appears to be a dream! Until a routine health check reveals three lumps. Now she knows she's dying, Carly wants to record all her life stories in an anthology. She always liked poetry, so it was an obvious choice for her...before she goes out with a bang.

Los Angeles Grand Stadium,

Packed with those chanting my name,

As I wait backstage.

Skin like papyrus on my bare legs,

The stylist refused to cover them.

I wish I could.

A slick of scarlet lipstick,

A spritz of Violet Eyes,

Last minute preparations.

I write down in this notebook,

What the plans are,

For when I die.

The crowds calling for more,

I oblige unexpectedly,

My favourite song from another artist.

As the last note fades,

The spark bounces of a silver barrel,

The trigger gets pulled.

Cries and screams,

It's too late,

Out with a bang.

One last signature,

One last tear,

No more memories.
