Remembering The Past (How I Know How)

Everyone knows Carly Curson. If you don't, have you been living under a rock for the past thirty years? With more Grammy awards than thought possible, a loving husband and three kids, her life appears to be a dream! Until a routine health check reveals three lumps. Now she knows she's dying, Carly wants to record all her life stories in an anthology. She always liked poetry, so it was an obvious choice for her...before she goes out with a bang.

13. CRAZY TRADITIONS

White silk,

A-line,

Sweetheart neckline,

Beautiful.

The most amazing day of my life.

Hands joining under an arch of lilies,

And our own vows.

Call and response style.

"In my darkest hour,"

"In my deepest despair,"

"Will you still care?"

"Will you be there?"

"In my trials,"

"And my tribulations?"

"In my joy,"

"And my sorrow?"

"In my violence,"

"In my fears?"

"I'll never let you part,"

"As you're always,"

"In my heart."

Safe choice to not wear any eyeliner or mascara.

Tears like a flowing sea,

Going out from my eyes.

I love him so.

We did not abandon all traditions though.

The layering of the wedding cake.

Coming from Hebrew ways.

The layers on the cake go up and up,

As we try to kiss over each new layer.

Three was easy,

Four was easy,

Five was easy,

Seven was the limit though.

I was so glad my dress was strapless.

He said the icing was the best part.

Not just during the reception,

If

You

Know

What

I

Mean.

I love him.
