Angels From Opposite Planets

Angel is just a normal fourteen year old girl...Well, almost normal. She must fight certain things including her past to recover her identity and her safety. If not, well, you don't want to know. This is a story of adventure, a little romance, and a lot of fun.

8. A Monster in a Gift Shop

Don't get me wrong, I love my life! With guys who try to kill me, parents missing, a bruise on my arm, a sword in my pocket, what's not to love? Once in a while though it'd be nice to sit back, relax, drink some lemonade with some very attractive g-...

But when I walked in a gift shop called Lou's Dress and Shoe Shop and saw a seven foot bear like with horns animal, I lost it basically.

"Woah, Lou needs to lay off the cookies and milk, huh?" I mumbled to Shelby. Of course she was too busy collecting flies in her mouth since it was so wide open.

"This is nice. How about tea instead?" Jake started to turn when the ugly thing saw us.

"Nice, Jake. Now what?"

"Keep it side tracked." He walked behind me, over to a rack of clothes.

"Um..." I did what I knew would get MY attention. "YO! Ugly bear devil thing! Over here, Fatso!" Yup, that got his attention, what was the next step of this plan exactly?

"Well, that got the attention, now what?" Shelby hid behind my arm. I did plan b. I reached in my bag and grabbed the end of my little friend.

"Plan B, Shelby. DUCK!" I pulled out the sword, but the thing new my plan and his claw was coming across our bodies. He got the edge of my shirt, which left a lovely scrape mark. Just what I needed.

I swung the sword with all of my strength and hit the bear. The sword glowed, as did the thing, leaving a pile of golden dust. I knelt down and felt the dust between my fingers.

"Woah, I was just going to hide." Jake popped up from behind the counter. He had a huge smile.

"Yeah, thanks for the help. " I put my arm across my waist to stop the blood from coming out, it'd be fine hopefully. I felt a small hand reach across to my arm and pull it away. All of a sudden relief came through my body. The scrape had vanished.

"So, he said to for you to tell me." I played with my fingers on the bench in a park.

"Did he tell you what to expect?"

"He said that it would be painful."

"That's true." Jake leaned forward and spoke softly. "We need to collaborate. We need to defeat Zwark together."

"Who's Zwark?"

"Well, Zwark means 'black' and he's a king of darkness."

"So why should I trust you and collaborate to defeat your king?"

"Because everyone hates him, including me."

"So? Why should I trust you?"

"Because I'm the only chance you have."

This was true.
