Forbiddingly Seeing You and One Direction

"Are you still mad at me?" Dylan asks.

I shake my head and smile.

"Good. Then I can do this without you yelling at me."
He says. He kisses me. Now that neither of us was shocked or surprised. It was beautiful. It was like it was my first kiss.

One of a kind.
Like that one dime in a stack of pennies. Only to me, it was priceless. Like it'd never happen again.
But stories about a princess and a prince falling in love NEVER have happy endings.

This is no Romeo and Juliet story, mainly because no one dies in the end but mostly because I never wanted to be like this in the first place.

This is the story of an ordinary boy and and ordinary girl but in unordinary propositions.

This is a story about being sneaky, smart, young, and of royal families. This is about ending a stone-aged war, sneaking in castles in the night, wanting to be normal, going undercover, but most of all this is the story of us. By us I mean Dylan, 1 Direction, and me.

Hi, I'm Kayla. When I was just six my mom told me the story of why the Lordax Kingdom (my kingdom) and the Dalmanac Kingdom have been at war. Now it's up to me and Dylan. Oh and One Direction, to stop the war.

10. A Royal New Memeber

Chapter 9

A Royal New Member

I closed my eyes. When I opened them, I saw 7 pairs of eyes staring at me. Not just 6.

"Who's the little girl?"I asked. Looked into her eyes. She looked scared.

"This is Sarah. When we were taking you to the hospital she followed us. When we asked her where her mom was she said she didn't have a mom." Harry said. "Plus Dylan took a liking to her,"

I looked at the girl. She had brown hair that looked as though it hadn't been washed for days. Her face was dirty and she desperately needed a bath. She hid behind Dylan.

"Why am I here?" I asked.

"You lost a lot of blood from the cut on you leg. You needed stitches," Dylan said.

"Oh," I answered.

Finally, the boys drove us home. Sarah came along with us. I was kind glad. Having her along would probably make the boys more responsible. I didn't have to worry about Liam though. From what I've heard, he's called 'Daddy Direction'.

Before we drove back to the boys' house, we stopped at a children's store. We needed clothes for Sarah. Although she still hadn't adjusted to anyone but Dylan yet.

Dylan and I had to put on disguises. I put on a hat that covered my hair and sunglasses to cover my eyes.

I didn't need anyone to recognize me. Dylan did the same.

After gathering soap, shampoo and conditioner, and clothes for her, we went back to the boys' house. I ran some warm water in the bathtub. I placed all the bath supplies on the side of the tub and some new pajamas and underwear on the toilet seat. I set a towel on top of them.

"Sarah!" I called. "Your bath is ready!"

Sarah walked in quietly. I walked out the door and closed it softly. A few moments later, I heard the splashing of water.

"Kayla," she said softly.

"Yes," I said from outside the door.

"Will you help me wash my hair?" She asked.

"Sure Sarah," I said walking in. She was sitting in the bathtub. I figured this would be a good time to get to know her.

"So Sarah," I said as I scrubbed her hair with shampoo. "How long have you been alone?"

"I don't know," she replied softly. "Not long. I've been able to stay alive by eating dandelions. My mommy said that dandelions are eatable. I also ate fruit off of trees."

"How old are you?" I asked.

"I'm five," she answered.

She looked like she was six year old. Hopefully the clothes I bought her will fit.

"What happened to your mommy?" I asked gently.

"My daddy said she went to Heaven. Then one day, my daddy left me. I stayed at my house till the food ran out. So I ran away. I didn't want to," I could see tears streaming down her face.

"I miss my mommy!" She cried.

I patted her back.

"It's alright Sarah. I'm here for you. You'll be okay," I said. It made me remember what Dylan said to me. That made me mad at him again. At least he had his mom still. Sarah's mom is dead.

When I finally finished washing her hair, she washed her body. I got her out of the tub and she wrapped herself with the towel.

"If you need anything I'll be right outside," I said to her.

She walked outside in the pajamas I gave to her. We had to throw her old clothes away. They were dirty beyond repair.

"Are you hungry?" I asked her.

"Only a little," she replied.

"What would you like to eat?" I asked.

"An apple," she replied.

I grabbed an apple from the pantry and handed it to Sarah. She crunched on it noisily.

"Hey. We are gonna watch a movie and we wanted to know if Sarah wanted to watch it with us." Niall said.

"What's the movie?" I asked.

"The Little Mermaid," be answer.

"Do you want to watch the movie with them Sarah?" I asked her.

"Sure," she said.

When the movie was over, in was the only one awake. Sarah was curled up next to Dylan asleep. I lifted her up and carried her to the guest room. Luckily, there were two. So I could sleep in one while Sarah occupied the other. I covered her with the blanket and kissed her gently on the forehead. She's had a rough day.

Dylan's voice appeared from behind me.

"She likes you. She said so," he said.

"She like you too. She followed you to the hospital," I said.

"True," he said.

"I'm gonna go to bed now," I said. "My leg is starting to hurt,"

"Alrighty then," he answered. I have him a kiss on the cheek.

"Night," I said.

The next morning, the sound of a child's laughter woke me up from a dream. In my dream, I was Sarah. Alone in the woods. Eating dandelions and fruits off of trees. Sleeping in caves or small ditches even. I shuddered.

I walked into the living room. Only to see that Liam was making breakfast. Niall was stuffing his face with food from the fridge. Zayne was trying to watch the news but Dylan and Louis blocked the screen. Sarah was laughing as Louis and Dylan made stupid looking faces. I laughed.

"Good morning sleeping beauty," Dylan said as he kissed me.

Niall made a disgusted face as children would when they saw their mom and dad kissing. The kiss ended to quickly for my liking.

"Where's Uncle Harry?" Sarah asked.

"Who's idea was it that Sarah call him uncle?" I whispered to Dylan.

"Oh. That was my idea. She doesn't just call Harry that. She call everyone except me Uncle." He answered.

"Okay then," I said.

"Harry is still sleeping," I said.

"Oh. Alright," she said.

I grabbed her hand. Her hand was very dry.

"Come on," I said. "Lets go get you dressed,"

So we walked to the guest room. I grabbed some clothes from the bag and she put them on. I decided I was going to do something special for her. I looked at the empty dresser and then at the bed and the walls.

"I gotta go do something," I said and I raced to the living room.

"Liam, I want to go to the children's store again. I want to get something special for Sarah." I whispered to Liam.

"Meet you in the car," he replied as I grabbed my coat and some money from my suitcase and raced out the door.

When we arrived I got back in my disguise. I grabbed some more clothes that I thought she'd like, a bed set for the bed she slept on, a small child makeup kit, a small mirror, a few toys, a radio, a few CDs consisting of the boys' music (Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall, and Zayn) and a poster of the boys. I figured she'd like that considering she called them all 'Uncle'. It'd be like having a picture of them in a picture frame.

Also you may wonder how I get this money. My parents give me a hundred dollars in allowance every week. Not to brag but, my family is rich!

"Liam, do you think it'd be okay to paint the guest room at your house?" I asked.

"Yah," he answered.

So I picked up a tub of yellow paint. Hopefully she likes likes yellow.

I went to the counter and payed for everything. The I went back.

"Sarah!" I called. "I have a surprise for you!"

Her eyes lit up as she saw the bags I was carrying. She ran up to hug me so I dropped the bags.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much!" She exclaimed.

I walked to the guest room that she stayed in and that's we're I sat the bags down at.

"Do you want to help me paint the guest room?" I asked Sarah.

"Of course!" She exclaimed.

By the time we finished painting it was 5 o'clock. By the time it dried, it was 6. Finally I taped the poster to the wall and put the new blankets on the bed. I had told Sarah to wait outside the door till I finished. I wanted to make Sarah as welcome as possible.

I put the mirror in the corner of the room and put the makeup kit on the dresser next to the TV. The TV was small but big enough for a kid to enjoy cartoons on a Sunday morning.

I grabbed all the new clothes and hung the shirts in the closet and put the pant s in the dresser. There was a nightstand next to her bed so that's where I put the radio. I put the CDs next to it. I found an empty laundry basket so that's where I put her clothes.

I stood back and looked at my creation. It looked just like a little girls room. I walked out the door to get Sarah. I covered her eyes and walked her to the room. The boys followed.

"3...2...1..." I counted down. I uncovered her eyes. She screamed with joy as she wrapped me in a hug.

"Go on," I said. "Go enjoy it," she looked at me. And smiled. That was the first time I had saw her smile. When I looked into her eyes I saw myself. A happy little girl just living the moment.

I smiled. Having Sarah around was the best thing that's happened so far. Maybe there would be a happy ending for us. At least I thought that till I heard a knock at the door.

I walked to the door and worryingly twisted the door knob. Harry's curly hair was the first thing I saw. I was relived till I saw he was worried. I could feel my feel myself tensing up. I thought he had been asleep. He was breathing heavily.

"They're looking for you," he gasped out of breath. "Your kingdoms guards Kayla,"
