The Fight for Love

Minka is the typical nineteen-year old girl. She has a job and friends, she just wants to fit in. But what happens when she runs in to the boy of her dreams? Will he be hers, or will the fight for love be too much? Especially when this boy has a hidden secret that no one knows.

2. He Called

Minnka's P.O.V

I woke up the next morning, exhausted as usual. I grabbed my glasses off the top of my bedside table, and stretched out my arms, today was my day off. I was free. I proceeded to the bathroom to some what fix my bed head, when my phone started ringing. I glanced at the screensaver to see that it was from an unknown number, hmm weird I thought to myself. I hit the answer button.

"Hey it's Minka, may I ask who is calling?'' I spoke into the phone, I glanced over at my alarm clock to see the time. 7:30 AM! ON A SATURDAY! Whoever this person was, better be pretty special to be calling me at this time in the morning.

"Oh hi Minka, it's Josh." the other line of the phone answered.

Josh? I didn't know a Josh hmmm.

"Umm, I'm sorry but you must have the wrong number, because I don't know a Josh."
"Oh yah I guess I never gave you my name, I was the guy you met at Starbucks the other day."

The guy. The one that made me burst with energy inside. The one that made me smile. Him. He was calling me. I smile crept across my face as I answered,

A few seconds went by with just silence, I could all ready feel the tension.

"Well is there any particular reason you called, Josh?"

I started to twirl my hair around at of habbit, and I could feel Josh tensing up and blushing on the other end of the line.

"Well I wanted to know if you wanted to meet up for coffee with me today...just us alone."

I put the phone to my chest, and let out a squeal of delight.

"Sure. I mean of course. Yes, I'd love to go have some coffee with you, what time?"

"How about I pick you up around noon, and you text me your address?"

"Perfect, see you then. Bye"

"Bye for now babe"

I hit the end call button on my phone, then leaned against the wall, completely awestruck. I had boyfriends before, but none were as cute as Josh...wait what am I even saying Josh never said he wanted me to be his girlfriend, he just asked me out for coffee, I mean I wasn't even pretty enough for Josh, I had normal brown hair, that everyday was most likely thrown up into a ponytail, regular tanned skin, and no curves what-so ever. End of story. Though I was determined to look my best for Josh today. I hopped in to the shower, and ended up air drying my hair, then leaving it down. I put on some dark blue skinny jeans, and a sweater.

I walked downstairs in to my living room, and saw I had fourty-five minutes till Josh was supposed to pick me up...which reminded me I never texted him my address, I quickly did then plopped on the couch satisfied with my work. What to do now. I got up and made myself a light snack, of a peanut butter sandwich, and I settled down on the couch and started flipping through the channels looking for a good show when I heard the doorbell, he was here! I ran to the door and swiftly opened it, only to find Josh in jeans and a Hollister shirt. I looked up into his eyes to see them glistening.

"Hey, Josh."

"Hello Minka."

We stood there for a couple minutes staring into each others eyes, before Josh let out a small chuckle.

"What's so funny?" I questioned.

"You have peanut butter on your nose."

I could feel my face turning a tomato colored red, as Josh lifted up his finger then wiped off the smudge of peanut butter off my nose, then smiled.

"Ready to go?"

Josh's P.O.V

I had felt nervous the whole car ride over to Minka's house, I mean when I saw her at the coffee shop the other day she just looked drop dead gorgeous. I wanted to run up to her and just start kissing her, the way her eyes glistened,  or her face when she started to blush, was all perfect. Though I'm not always the best with the ladies, I get pretty shy when ever I talk to a girl.

When I pulled up to her house, and she answered the door, well let's just say I was blown away. She was beautiful. I started to stare into her eyes, they were a deep emerald color, and sparkled like a shining star. I didn't want to be rude by telling her, but she had peanut butter on her nose, I started to laugh then wiped it off for her, then asked if she was ready to go.

I brought her to my car, and opened the door for her, I then walked over to my side of the car, jumped into my seat, put the keys into ignition, and put the car in reverse to back out of her driveway. This was going to be my chance to get Minka to be my girlfriend.
