Jayna Coleman was a pretty girl. She was very preppy, and a bit spoiled. You're probably thinking she was like Regina George from Mean Girls, but she was far from that. Jayna was actually extremly insecure. She had a whole other side of her self. One side was a bold, pretty, preppy, spoiled rotten girl; though she was nice to everybody. The other side of Jayna was unexpected. Jayna's other side was dorky, awkward, shy, ugly girl. That side of her was kept at home, in her tree house. She acted immature, and loved Harry Potter and other mythalogical book series, and romance books. At school, she acted dumb, and sweet. At home, she was logical and snappy to her older brother and parents.

Jayna hated her- well, what she liked to call her 'Dark Side'- the side she had at highschool. She had football-playing boyfriend, "friends" all over campus, and two clueless little blondes who followed her everywhere, who she called 'The Clones', as they were twins. She actually thought her boyfriend took things too fast for her age, 18, her "friends" wanted her for her popularity, and the Clones were annoying.

Jayna wished she could just be herself- The side she was at home. The one who sat in a treehouse for hours, writing stories, singing, reading, studing, and listening to music. With how much she liked Twitter and YouTube, it was suprising that she didn't know much about One Direction. She could point out their faces, but not their names.

Jayna usually felt bored with her life. She wanted to do her entire life over. She wanted to be herself. The nerdy girl, who thought proms were stupid, hated make-up, loved fanatsy, romance, and mystery books, and who thought hair products were ruining the o-zone layer. So that's why Jayna wrote a column in her school newspaper every week, anonomously, of course. It was called 'Complaining Carly'. Some recent topics she had written about included why preps are so full of themselves, bullies, hair products ruining the o-zone layer, homework tips, the recent hurricanes and shooting in America, why the prom has completly ruined teenagers and the purpose of school, plus so many more topics.

Jayna never thought that after reading so many teenage romance novels, like Cindy Ella, Beastly, Take Me There, When It Happens, The Losers Guide To Love, How To Build A House, and so many more, that she'd actually have her own love story. But could her lover love her 'Dark Side'?
