I Know You're There: Abducted Angels

*Sequel to I Know You're There, read that first*. Reuben and Tori have ran away. They've got a place to stay, and their fake ID's are working. The only thing is, Tori's 'abduction' story is currently the biggest segment of the news. Yep, Reuben is the World's most wanted. Nobody knows it's Reuben, though. Not only are the police after them, but there's a sick band of people, who want Angels. Not for good reasons, some for dissection, some for information. They're both after Reuben. But of course, there's more problems then that. Ex's, (new) family and money. But they're together, and that's all that matters... right?

19. 'We'll help you the whole way, even if it kills us.'

"Tori, you need to go see Mum and Dad," Ollie said, crouching down beside me.

"I can't, Ollie..." I whispered, meeting his teary gaze.

"Why not?" he asked, sitting on the floor, wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

"How do I explain... everything?" I choked out, so close to tears.

I'd kill to see my family, I was even slightly happy to see someone like Daniel. I just wanted to tell my family I'm okay, even though I'm not. I'm scarred mentally, broken physically, and dead emotionally. I couldn't take much more, but a relief would come if I could just tell them I'm fine. So what if it's a lie? It's better than knowing that they're suffering more than me. But I couldn't see them. I'd have to tell them everything. The fact that I'd killed someone, Reuben killed many, I lived alone with him, then Damien... There isn't even a decent place to start explaining.

"You just tell them the truth," Ollie replied, shrugging his shoulders, like it's no big deal.

Unsure, I looked at Reuben. He didn't dare meet my glance, he only stared into his lap, fiddling with his belt buckle. Giving up on him, I looked at Damien. Sadly, he smiled, and gestured for me to make my mind up, that it's not up to him. I was a sixteen year old girl, I couldn't make a decision like that by myself...

"But, I can't," I mumbled, studying the cast on my leg.

Did Ollie know the truth? Had Damien and Reuben told him? Had they told Daniel? A wave of nausea hit me, as bile climbed up my throat. Instead of speaking, I just rested my head on Ollie's shoulder, and closed my eyes. Man, I missed him. That annoying, ridiculous, childish brother of mine. The amount of times we'd fought, then a few hours later, slipped notes under each others' bedroom doors, saying sorry. How we constantly insulted each other, and never took it seriously. How we say we hate each other with every fibre of our being, but realise we were meant to say love.

"I'll be there, with you, so will Reuben and Damien. We'll help you, the whole way, even if it kills us," Ollie tried persuading me, just one last time.

I breathed heavily, out through my nose, and sit up straight, "Okay."

I didn't have any crutches, so I simply used Ollie as my left crutch, and Damien as my right. I thought Reuben and I were in a fight, so I didn't ask him. I didn't want to be in a fight with him... I just wanted him back.

"Okay, are you definite that you want to do this?" Damien asked, just as we reached the front door of my old house.

Silently, I nodded, wincing as my foot touched the ground. Reuben just stood at the back of the group, behind Daniel. Carefully, Ollie let go of me, and unlocked the front door. He came back to me, and him and Damien managed to get me inside without breaking my other leg. Ollie called out for our parents, and a lump began to develop in my throat. I was scared of their reaction...

"Ollie, what is it?" I heard my Dad say, his voice empty, hollow maybe.

"Can you come here? Get Mum, too, it's really important," Ollie replied, helping me to walk into the lounge.

Awkwardly, I stand there, balancing on one leg with two guys as my supports. It's actually surprising, how nerve racking it was. They probably wouldn't even believe a word of it...

In silence, they walk in. Their skin was pale, no colour in their eyes either... All of that changed, though, when they saw me. The colour came flooding back to them, along with a genuine smile. Both of them pulled me into a huge bear hug, and the tears started; from both of us.

"Tori... We thought you were... dead..." my Mum whispered, burying her face in my neck.

Slowly, they both let go of me, wiping their tears away. The moment I was trying to avoid, came upon us... They looked at Reuben.

"What... What...," my Dad stammered, turning pale again.

"Hi," Reuben said, turning shy.

"I don't know either..." I said.

Reuben finally met my gaze, and I could actually see the agony in his eyes. He knew he was losing me. I knew I was losing him. He's losing the girl, who's almost died on numerous accounts, and I was losing the guy who changed specie a couple times. We're losing each other.

Do you hate/dislike/like/love Reuben, and explain your answer!

I absolutely love Reuben, even though he's my character. I created him, and I'm glad I did. Why do I love him? Because he's just perfect. I think we all know he'd rather die than hurt Tori, and if I had one wish, I'd wish for Reuben to be real. Yep, I'm obsessed with some dude I randomly created. Fiction for the win!
