I Know You're There: Abducted Angels

*Sequel to I Know You're There, read that first*. Reuben and Tori have ran away. They've got a place to stay, and their fake ID's are working. The only thing is, Tori's 'abduction' story is currently the biggest segment of the news. Yep, Reuben is the World's most wanted. Nobody knows it's Reuben, though. Not only are the police after them, but there's a sick band of people, who want Angels. Not for good reasons, some for dissection, some for information. They're both after Reuben. But of course, there's more problems then that. Ex's, (new) family and money. But they're together, and that's all that matters... right?

1. 'Son, you've got a lot coming for you.'

I'd had an hour to grab all of my stuff. Reuben didn't really have much to get, so he helped me with my stuff. I shoved as many clothes as possible into a suitcase, along with toiletries. I also grabbed some food for the journey, all of my money and a little bit of my brothers. After we'd done that, Reuben drove us somewhere I didn't recognise, walked into a house, and returned with fake ID's. We had passports, drivers licenses and new names.

Reuben Dane was now Nathan George, and Tori Hills was Imogen Franks. We had to get makeovers too, but I couldn't imagine changing Reuben to look like anyone else. It would be weird, but worth it.

We stopped for the night, just in a lay by. I found it difficult to sleep, despite that I was wrapped up in Reuben's arms. It was all so surreal. Running away from home seemed a bit cliché too. Everything would be fine in the long run, and I'd have the time of my life. There was that one little detail though, that one day, we'd have to go back. Wouldn't we? We couldn't just stay away forever.

Basically, we were heading to Brighton. My Gran lived there, and she had a huge estate. Well, a huge house. She owned quite a lot of land too, and there was a cabin we could stay in. I knew she wouldn't tell anyone, because there was a secret between us. I never believed it, but I did then. My Granddad was my Gran's Guardian Angel. He passed away, and my Gran had tried to tell us. None of us believed it, but I did after.

Reuben was asleep, his breathing slow and gentle. He was really cute when he was asleep. He twitched occasionally too, and mumbled in his sleep. I smiled to myself, and tried again to sleep like him.

In the morning, we were driving again, and I was exhausted. It would take until the evening to reach Brighton with the amount of traffic, and Reuben's lack of sense of direction. It was a painfully long journey, but I had the best company I could get.

It was in the evening that we arrived, heading through the big city. Since it was Friday, the city was lit up with bright lights, all the clubs in full swing. I loved Brighton, and I was excited to see my Gran. People had packed the streets, and it was hard to drive through. After a lot of beeping, we managed to reach my Gran's place.

Reuben parked, and I leapt out of the car before he could cut the engine off. I ran up the long path, and knocked on the front door. I stood there, hopping from one foot to the other, extremely excited. Reuben's hair was a mess when he came up next to me, so I quickly ran my fingers through it, wanting him to make a good first impression.

"Tori? What are you doing here, love?" my Gran opened the door, looking fit and healthy.

"I know, long story," I shrugged my shoulders, half in exasperation, half in pushing the cold away.

"Well you better come in and tell me," she stepped to the side, and her eyes fell on Reuben, "Who's this?"

"Reuben, my Guardian Angel," I told her, carefully observing her reaction.

Her hazel eyes widened, and she stared at him, in shock. She looked past our shoulders, scanning the acre. Quickly, she grabbed my wrist, and pulled me inside.

"Son, you've got a lot coming for you."
