I Know You're There: Abducted Angels

*Sequel to I Know You're There, read that first*. Reuben and Tori have ran away. They've got a place to stay, and their fake ID's are working. The only thing is, Tori's 'abduction' story is currently the biggest segment of the news. Yep, Reuben is the World's most wanted. Nobody knows it's Reuben, though. Not only are the police after them, but there's a sick band of people, who want Angels. Not for good reasons, some for dissection, some for information. They're both after Reuben. But of course, there's more problems then that. Ex's, (new) family and money. But they're together, and that's all that matters... right?

7. 'I say we reinvent our wardrobes.'

So, the heat had blown over. The police were still looking for us, but after my Gran had shooed them away, we had a decent amount of peace. No more Angel hunter people came after Reuben, another relief. Despite everything that was wrong, we were desperately trying to get everything back to normal. First off, college.

It didn't have a very creative name, just 'Brighton College'. It was pretty big, and it was difficult to get a place. We only managed to, because of our good 'CV's' that don't even exist. But before we get to college, we can't look like Tori and Reuben, we need to look like Imogen and Nathan. I didn't know what to expect for either of us. Would we dye our hair? Get it cut? Wear different clothes? Who knows?

The first major change was Reuben's hair. I mean... it's indescribable unless I just say the style. He got it cut shorter, and coiffed. Yes, Reuben with a coif. It wasn't a proper, Elvis Presley, coif, it was just like how all the young, male celebrities have their hair now. He didn't dye it, but with his hair like that I could have sworn he wasn't even Reuben. However, he still looked just as good as before.

For my hair, along with Reuben's guidance, I changed it completely. The natural dirty blond colour, was dyed to dark auburn. It was cut from waist length, to shoulder blade length. The only similarity to before, was that it was still wavy. It looked quite good to be honest - better than I'd imagined. At least I liked it. Reuben didn't like his. I told him that I liked it, which shut him up for about ten minutes, until he continued complaining.

"What else are we meant to do, to look different?" I asked, genuinely not sure what to do with my image.

He reached into his back pocket, and pulled out a rectangle of plastic, "I say we reinvent our wardrobes."

I realised that the plastic was his credit card, and I smiled. Reuben would never ever admit it, but deep down, he loved shopping. If he admitted it, his ego would be forever dead. I only knew, because every time I told him I was going into town, he'd come with me.

We walked into the shopping centre, totally oblivious to the amount of money we spent. Only one thing ruined my day, which was, girls noticed Reuben. That sounds really selfish, but the look in their greedy eyes... I'm not a judgemental person, but you could just tell that they expected him to love them too. The good thing was, Reuben genuinely didn't notice them. If one of them tried talking to him, he'd talk back, genuinely not realising how much she was flirting with him. There was no need to be jealous.

Another thing to change our appearances, was piercings. I really didn't want any, after the amount I've gone through with my ears. They got infected... I won't go into detail. However, Reuben did get a piercing. Two, actually. He checked that it would be okay with me first, in case I didn't like piercings on a guy. Anyway, he got snakebites, which enhanced his full, bottom lip. They weren't anything to extravagant, just small, silver studs.

When we left the parlour, I was just making fun of him from lisping. His lip was still numb, and he couldn't talk properly. I knew that once his speech was back to normal, I'd have it in for me about the teasing. He did give me a good telling off, but he didn't really mean it. We were still laughing about it, and I wished I'd recorded his lisp, but I smashed my phone...

For our clothing choices, Reuben had gone into the whole leather, denim, rock star look. No matter how much I didn't want to, I'd headed in the direction of small skirts, and tight tops. There wasn't really much else I could do, as I already wore whatever I felt like. We had tonnes of bags, and it was a day worth while. All we had to do, was actually turn up for college.
