When Lightning Strikes

Athena and Atlanta Coman were average twin girls. Well, if you count having telepathy with each other average. Until one day when they overhear one of their parent's conversations.Their whole world is about to be turned on its axis as they dicover newfound family history.

6. Roasted Attack Plan

 A/N:

BANG!  Rain began to pound against the house and thunder boomed loudly overhead.

“ I see that it’s almost time for the ceremony.  I must go and prepare.  Beware, my guards

are watching you!”  With that, Vladimir left Athena and Atlanta in the room full of monsters.

“What are we going to do?” Atlanta mentally screamed.

“I don’t know! Is there any way to contact our parents?” Athena replied.

“I left my phone in my bag in that room.”

“Same here.”

“Do you know how to activate these ‘slayer powers’ he claims we have?”

“If I did, I would have used them a long time ago.”

“Is there anything in this room that can be used as a weapon?”

“No, just some pillows.”  Upon hearing this, Atlanta stood up and got a pillow.  It was sopping wet because it was by the cracked window.   All of their actions were closely monitored by the monsters, but they seemed to think that getting a pillow is not threatening.

“Why’d you get a pillow? What use will that be?” Athena wondered.

“You never know when you’ll need a pillow.”

About an hour passed without any sign of Vladimir returning.  The girls were getting restless.  Finally, Vladimir reentered the room carrying a 3ft long staff that looked to be made of pure gold.   The only words he spoke were,

“It is time.”  All of a sudden, lightning flashed, and the storm grew heavier.   Then, Vladimir began to chant in what sounded like archaic Latin.  Athena and Atlanta looked at each other nervously, and thought,

“We’re going to die.” Athena’s mind was going a mile a minute, trying to find some route of escape, but considering Vladimir was way more powerful than them, all her plans came up negative.   As Vladimir continued chanting, giant tendrils of golden electricity began to descend from the ceiling in the shape of a pentagon with a star inside of it.  Just when the sisters gave up all hope, two beings burst through the door.

To Vladimir’s dismay, and the twin’s surprise, the two people turned out to be none other that Orion and Cora Coman.

“Mom!  Dad!” the twins cried cheerfully.

“Comans!   Your arrival is too late!  I just have to chant the last segment, and all of the monsters will be released onto the Earth!” Vladimir yelled gleefully.   “You can’t stop me!”

“Athena!   Atlanta!   You need to use your powers to stop him!  Only you can do it!”  Cora

called out.

“We don’t even know how to use them?   How are we supposed to learn now!?!” they both replied.

“Just concentrate as hard as you can on lightning striking your target.   Feel its heat.   Hear its crackling.   Focus all your energy.”   Taking this advice, the twins both focused their concentration

on a monster not too far away.  To their surprise, two bolts of lightning, one electric blue, one startling green, combined into a blue-green shot down from the sky and fried the zombie.   It left nothing more than a pile of ash.

“Yes!   We did it!” Athena shouted excitedly.   Their parents smiled proudly at them.  Orion then yelled, “Go stop Vladimir!  We’ll hold the monsters off.”   Not wasting a second, the girls sped toward Vladimir.  They heard the sound of their parents vaporizing monsters in the background.   At last, they came face-to-face with Vladimir.   He sneered to them,

“What can two little girls do to stop me? I have one more line to chant, and then it’s time for a monster-filled world!”  He once again picked up his chant, when Atlanta was struck with an idea.

“Athena, on three, aim for his face. I’ve got an idea.”

“Are you sure it will work?”

“No, but you’ve got to trust me on this one.”

“Fine.”

“Okay, 1…2…3…NOW!”  As Athena used her lightning to strike Vladimir, Atlanta threw the wet pillow straight at Vladimir’s face.  The combination of water and lightning sent an enormous electric shock through his body, and he promptly cried out in pain.

“NO!!!  The ceremony is unfinished! NOOO!!!”  Because of Vladimir’s electrocution, it sent an electric wave to all of his monsters as well, reducing them to ash piles.  The twins immediately rushed to their parents.

“You did a great job, and we are so proud of you for this,” Cora and Orion stated.  “Now let’s get out of here.”  Upon coming to this conclusion (POINT!), all of the Comans departed from the house, leaving a roasted Vladimir behind.
