Back For You

They say friendship lasts forever. Louis Tomlinson and Lillian Brie thought that this statement was completely true. But when one "yes" from Simon Cowell changes their fate together they need to find their way back together. After years of solitude, Louis comes back to Doncaster for a visit. Just as he promised. Because when two people are meant to be, they will always find their way back.

12. Day 11 - Kiss Me

I opened my eyes slowly, not wanting to leave my dream world and face the terror that was my reality. Once my eyes were fully open and I became aware I stayed in bed peering around the room, half expected Lou to be there, but to my disappointment, he wasn't.

A single tear dropped from my face as it registered in my head how much a part of my life Lou was. The tear was soaked up by my pillow, joining many others from the night before from when I cried myself into a dark sleep.

I looked at my rug remembering how Lou used to always trap me in there and wrap my up like a sausage roll. I looked at my study desk, where Lou and I used to spend hours and hours doing homework. I looked at my wardrobe, remembering the time when Lou and I thought it was a great idea to play hide and seek in there.

The room was so dark, I looked over to the light switch but decided that it was too far away. Instead I sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before opening the curtain. The light felt blinding as it shone in my face. I couldn't help it, I cowered away from the light in an attempt to shield my eyes. I blinked a couple times adjusting to it before looking out the window.

I stared down at the old willow tree that I used to force Lou to have tea parties under. These memories would usually bring such joy to my being but instead they brought feelings of regret and longing. I continued to stare out of the window catching my reflection. I looked horrid. My eyes were puffy and I looked completely drained.

As I continued to stare at myself in the window my phone started to ring. I prayed that it wouldn't be Lou's management, shouting at me for something that I was falsely accused of. I looked at the caller ID and was shocked to see Marley's name.

"Hello?" I said into the phone, my voice sounded sad and nasal. I must have been crying in my sleep.

"Aw hello love," she cooed sounding gentler than usual, "How are you holding up?"

"Terribly," I chuckled, I didn't know why I was laughing. I just felt as if the situation was so terrible that the only thing I could do is laugh. "Everything I see reminds me of him Marls, it all ended so horribly and I already miss all of the things he says to me. And I keep cursing myself for being such an idiot, I should've fought for him."

"Then why aren't you?" she said her tone completely changing, I was taken aback a little bit.

"He told me he didn't love me Marls, I'm pretty sure it's over..." I responded my sentence trailing off at the end.

"And you honestly believe that?" she shouted into the phone, "You were his EVERYTHING. I think you literally destroyed him from the inside out. But keep this in mind Lils. He's always going to forgive you and he's always going to want to be with you. But he's scared Lils, he's scared that he's going to lose you and the only thing he can do is say that he doesn't love you!"

More tears started falling from my eyes, I couldn't seem to control the waterworks today. It would seem as nothing could stop them.

"I need to go now," I choked out hanging up quickly, not giving her a chance to reply.

She was right, I should have fought for him. All of the memories from last night slowly trickled back to me, no matter how hard I tried to shut them out. I shouldn't have walked out, I should have fought for him. I should've fought for us. With a shaky hand I dialed Lou's phone number and waited for him to pick up.

LOUIS POV - Here's the time jump thing guys

My face had been stuffed in a pillow all morning. They had been trying to coax information out of me. With food, with words, but I wouldn't budge. I listened to them, they were telling me that I would find someone else. They didn't understand, I would not find someone else. She was the only one.

I heard Marley mention something about calling Lily. By instinct, my head jolted up at the sound of her name. They all looked like fools, staring at me with their shocked expressions, I rolled my eyes at them before stuffing my head back in the pillow. I heard more whispers and then I heard people leaving the room. In hope that I was alone I raised my head, only to find Harry there with a solemn expression.

"Relax mate," I groaned, "Nobody died."

His expression hardened, he continued to stare me down. I put my face back in my pillow in attempt to escape his gaze.

"I hate this," I moaned into the pillow which muffled my voice, Harry, however, seemed to understand what I was saying.

"What do you hate Lou?' he asked sitting down on the couch.

"I hate loving someone so much. I hate fearing that it could be over in any day if I took her back. I hate that I think so negatively sometimes. I hate not wanting to get a broken heart. I hate truly loving and caring." I then chuckled to myself, "And above all I hate blonde Irishmen who kiss other guys girls."

My phone started ringing. I pressed the ignore button, not even bothering to check who was calling. But when my phone started to ring again I pressed answer and held it to my ear.

"Louis?" a small voice squeaked, I instantly recognized who it was. Lily.

"Hello this is Louis Tomlinson, whose calling?" he asked,

"It's Lily Bud," I said kindly in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"I don't know a Lily Bud, goodbye." he said and hung up. I was shocked at his rudeness, struggling to keep my annoyance under control I called again. He picked up once more answering the same way,

"Hello this is Louis Tomlinson, whose calling?"

"This is Lillian Marie Brie," I said very straightly, understanding that he wasn't going to joke.

"Oh hey Lillian," he mumbled, "How can I help you on this fine, fine day?"

I opened my mouth expecting something dramatic and loving to come out, instead I struggled with what to say before squeezing out.

"How are you feeling today? You sound a little under the weather..."

"I feel like absolute shit," he chuckled, "You?"

"No better," I responded with a slight giggle, "I was wondering if you wanted to meet up today, at that bakery you like so much? Maybe we could talk."

"Now why on earth," he began "Would I want to do anything with you?"

"Because I miss you Boo- Louis." I stopped myself from calling him by his nickname, knowing that it would annoy him, "I know it hasn't even been 24 hours but I miss you like crazy and I really need you in my life. I know that seems selfish and I am so undeserving of your love and affection but I really do desperately need you. I'm just asking for another chance."

He was quiet for a a sizable amount of time. Obviously considering whether to go or not, so I decided to push my luck.

"No pressure Louis, but you're wasting the credit on my phone right now. I'm not as rich as you..."

He chuckled at me, it brought me joy knowing that I could still make him smile. An event which I thought would never occur.

"Meet me there in half an hour, we can start over" he said quickly before hanging up.

I gripped my phone in my hand trying to absorb what had just happened. I had been given a lifeline, a second chance. And I intended on using it to the best of my abilities.

What was I doing? As I sat in a little bakery, in my toms, suspenders, striped t-shirt and red pants, I wondered what the hell I was doing. However, when I looked out of the bakery window and saw Lily ( stood there, I knew exactly what I was doing, I was giving the woman I love, a second chance.

A waitress came over to my table and started flirting with me, I took no notice to her, giving her my order and shooing her off.

I didn't know how to approach her, I wasn't planning on being so nervous. I just decided to be as civil as I could. As I got up from my seat and headed towards the door I got an idea.

I stood in front of the bakery leaning up against the glass window. I was so nervous about going in, multitudes of possibilities ran through my mind. I heard a bell ring and a door open. I looked to who was exited the cafe and was overjoyed to see Louis's face. I expected a hug or an awkward gesture, instead he extended his hand to me with a warm smile.

"Hello love, I'm Louis Tomlinson. What's your name?"

I looked at his hand with a shocked expression, was this what he meant by starting over? Really starting over, forgetting all those years of memories we had together. I trusted him whole heartedly and shook his hand introducing myself.

"I'm Lillian Brie, it's lovely to meet you Louis,"

He stepped back gesturing for me to enter the bakery.

"After you,"

I smiled at him giving him a little bow of the head before I went in. He closed the door behind me and led me to our table. He did the gentlemanly things, pulling out my chair for me, pushing it in. He sat down across from me and started our conversation.

"So Lillian-" he began, I, however, cut him off.

"Please call me Lily,"

"So Lily," he continued "Are you just visiting Doncaster?"

"No," I responded with a smile, "I live here,"

"How nice!" he exclaimed, "So do I! I live here with my mum"

"You don't live with your Dad?" I asked prompting conversation,

"Nonono," he stuttered, "My parents divorced a long time ago, I had a friend that really helped me through it though."

I smiled at his comment. We had helped each other through both our parents divorces. We had taken turns staying at each others houses watching movies until the break of dawn and falling asleep in each others arms.

"I have this other friend," he said interrupting my train of thought, "He's recently broke up with his girlfriend, he's really torn up about it."

I understood where he was going now and continued the conversation. As drinks came to the table, I smiled knowing that Lou still remembered my order.

"Oh really? Why?" I asked,

"You see, his girlfriend cheated on him with his best mate," his hands turned into fists, I could feel him tensing up at the mention of it. "He's really torn up about it because he thinks he may still love her,"

"Well is he sure that she cheated? It could all be a misunderstanding, if he still loved her wouldn't he allow her to explain the situation?" I asked,

"There is much to misunderstand," he said through a clenched jaw, "There were pictures, he saw her kissing this other guy."

"Well I'm sure she still loves him very much, I'm sure she can't stand to be without him, I'm sure that she misses him already," I responded my annoyance playing up the situation, "And I'm sure he still loves her,"

"He does still love her," Lou grumbled, "But he is worried,"

"What is he worried about!" I shouted standing up and shoving my chair back, "She loves him! He loves her! What is there to worry about? Isn't love all they need? Because they need each other! And they should work things out,"

"Well he," Lou began in a significantly quieter voice than my own, obviously a silent signal to lower my tone. I looked around, everyone was stealing glances. I slowly shrunk down into my seat. "Doesn't think that they should make up especially if they are still fighting."

He then took a giant sip of his tea, got out of his seat and stormed out of the bakery. I put my face in my hands, I messed it up again. I looked out of the bakery window, he had stopped. I would not shy away this time, I would fight. I grabbed my bag and ran out of the bakery shoving the door open.

"Lou!" I shouted, "Lou!"

he continued to walk forward at the sound of my voice, so I shouted out to him again.

He then stopped, his back turned to me. This reminded me of a very certain shower incident. I slowly walked towards him pushing my luck.

"I love you so much," I cried, "And I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry for messing us up like this. I really, really do love you Lou and I want us to be together, I promise this will never happen again. I promise that it will always be you, always be you that I will choose! So please! Please don't leave me."

He turned around to face me, our chests were almost touching now. His face displayed a shocked expression, he was obviously taken back by our close proximity.

"How can you prove that?" he said in a very breathy tone,

"Kiss me," I whispered against him. His breath was steady whereas mine was completely uneven. He leaned in a couple times before our lips finally touched. It was such a soft kiss, with our lips brushing against each other. This was a new type of spark that I had yet to experience with anyone. It was two lovers, rekindling their light, falling in love all over again. He increased the force of the kiss, just slightly. My hands slowly raised from my sides to lean against his chest. The action felt so simple and so unforced, as if this is where I was supposed to be. His hands slowly moved up to cup my face, warming my cheeks, bringing a pale pink color to them.

He tried to break off the kiss but I quickly placed my hand to the back of his head, pushing his head towards mine. I didn't want this kiss to end, knowing that it could very well be our last. Our lips molded each other perfectly, I knew that it was only him, only him that I could ever choose. He pulled away once more but my desperate attempt to not leave this moment failed as he turned his head from me.

"Please don't," I whispered, "Please don't leave me."

He then walked away from me, however this time he walked to the bakery door, opening it for me.

"Then lets talk..."

"And you expect me to not punch him in the face?" he said through grinded teeth,

I had just explained the situation to him. He seemed as mad as ever, I struggled in responding to his question. Unsure to whether he was joking or not. Judging by his hands, which had now turned into fists, and his eyebrows which were creased together. I could tell that he meant business.

"Violence is never the answer," I cooed taking his hand in mine and rubbing his knuckles with my thumb. I could feel his hands relaxing at my touch.

"Then what is?" he asked me looking up with desperation in his eyes.

"Let's start over," I began, "Let's do what you were trying to do before, lets just start over."

His face lit up in a smile, confirming that my idea was a good one. He got up from his seat and walked over to mine giving me a kiss on the hand.

"Mademoiselle," he began "What is a stunning lady like you doing all alone in a bakery?"

"Waiting for a handsome man like you of course," I giggled,

"So forward? Confident you are," he said walking over to his side of the table once more and sitting down,

"Well one tries," I said with a cheeky smile, "My names Lillian, but please call me Lily."

"The names Tomlinson, Louis Tomlinson." he said with a flick of his hair, I laughed at his James Bond reference as he called a waitress over. He gave her our order, one tea and a hot chocolate with chocolate shavings over the top. He also ordered a piece of carrot cake for us to share, I smiled at this gesture. I reached across the table and took his hand in mine. He smiled at me and looked directly into my eyes. Our stare said so much more than any words could, a silent conversation between just us, one that I would remember. He tapped me on the nose, a secret promise, I tapped his nose as well. I knew that all was well.

"Thankyou for driving me home Sir," I said as I stood at my front porch. We had stayed at the bakery all day, talking with each other and retelling old stories. It was now very dark and the moon was high in the sky. "It was lovely meeting you,"

"And you miss," he said giving me a little bow, I curtsied back and stood there awkwardly. I finally settled on giving him a kiss on the cheek before running inside and shutting the door.

I instantly looked out of the eyehole to find Louis hanging around. He kicked his foot back and forth before very slowly turning around and walking away in slow motion. I laughed at him, he knew I would be staring. I flung the door open and jumped on him. He picked me up by the waist as I crashed my lips onto his wrapping my arms around his neck. My right foot slowly raised in the air as he set me back down on the ground. I smiled at him before running back inside.

I closed the door peering through the eyehole once more to find Lou jumping up and down as he ran back to his car. Though very childish and immature, I found myself doing the same thing as I ran up the stairs.

Everyone was waiting for Lou in the kitchen, anticipating his arrival. I, however, was waiting at the top of the staircase dreading for him to come back home. I could already guess the fate that awaited me. A punch in the gut, a slap in the face. I knew that he would be furious.

The door burst open revealing a very happy looking Louis. He practically ran to the kitchen, obviously eager to tell everyone how it went. I slowly crept down the stairs, very surprised that he hadn't come looking for me yet. I leaned against the door frame listening to Lou retell his evening. They had made up. Of course they did. He told them all about them kissing, holding hands, making up. It all sickened me. I slowly slid down the doorframe until my bum touched the floor.

Lily would never know how much I cared for her. How every laugh, every smile was so precious to me. I cared for her so much, maybe even more than Louis. The way her brown hair fell by her shoulders and her deep chocolate eyes always seemed happy, she was stunning, perfect. I sat there cursing myself for not telling her earlier, she would now never know how much I cared for her. Or would she...?

I ran into the living room grabbing Lou's phone and guessing the password. I got in and began dialing Lily's number. I must have dialed her number fifty times before finally clicking call.

I skipped around my room with my toothbrush in my mouth, overjoyed at the nights events. Nothing could ruin my night now. I heard my phone ring so I skipped outside and checked the called ID. It read: Louis <3. I held it in my hand as I ran into the bathroom quickly spitting out the gunk in my mouth and having a drink of water before answering.

"Miss me already Boo?" I said cheekily with a smile on my face.

"Actually it's Niall," the voice that spoke through the phone was instantly recognizable  I dropped my toothbrush into the sink and almost dropped my phone in as well.

"Lou if this is you trying to be funny it's not working," I said my hand now shaking as I walked into my bedroom.

"It's actually Niall, I was wondering if you could meet me in the park. Early, like 3:00am early..." he said, I started pacing up and down my room trying to conjure up an excuse to get out of this.

"We shouldn't be doing this..." I mumbled into the phone, "Plus, it's already 10:30..."

"Then you have quite alot of time to get ready," Niall responded cheekily, I rolled my eyes cursing myself for not coming up with a better excuse.

I opened my mouth so many times ready to say No and I don't know why it came out, or even how it came out but I replied.

"See you there."
