27. Blue Rose

Sam's Pov

Tripped, again. I picked myself up and continued walking towards my locker. I walked past Jordan's locker, which was five away from mine. He was snogging Emily, as usual. When I got to my locker, I saw a note taped to it.

Good luck working when

there's nothing to write on!

I pulled a few spare books out of my bag, which I had been using recently, including a sketch pad. After checking that I had all the ones I needed for today, I stuffed them back into my bag and started heading towards the Art class. I walked in, going straight to my spot next to Charli.

"How bad are your problems?" I asked her, pulling out the sketch pad and resuming drawing the rose I had been working on over the last few weeks. Charli pulled her book out, and Continued her manga she was working on. I added a bit of shading to the rose, but I realised I had used blue by accident. Shit!

"Sam, are you drawing a blue rose? I've heard there's only a handful of them, and even then they're hard to find." Charli asked me as she looked over. I continued shading it in the blue, and started adding the all the other colours. I had finished the rose by the end of the class, Ending up with a really good picture.

"Class, I urge you to look at Sam's drawing. He has captured a beautiful peice, and I think this deserves to go into the state art competiton." Miss Kent said to the class. I heard a few others agree, as well as a few suprised whispers. I smiled. Nothing I've ever done has been appreciated before. I looked over to Charli, who was beaming at me. She gave me a hug, and I hugged her back. After class I got a few people run up to me, asking me if they could look at my drawings. I said yes,  but told them to do it quickly.

"Hey Charli, I heard you're doing a manga." I heard Emily sneer from across the hall.

"So?" Chelsea yelled back. I could tell she was getting a bit mad, as her voice was wavering. Charli tried to calm her down as emily shouted back across the hall.

"Well, I've heard it's shit!"

In less then two seconds I was across the hall, Charli looking as if she was about to cry. Chelsea was right behind me, as Ava and Christie were trying to get Charli to stop crying.

"If you actually read it, you wouldn't be saying that." I snarled at her.The pain had come back into my mouth, but I used it to my advantage. She screamed.

"Vampire!!"

I froze. Realizing I had gritted my teeth, baring them, showing my sharper teeth.

"Maybe you won't want to get in my way now that you know what I am." I hissed at her, walking away. I started running. As I burst through the school doors a hockey stick aimed for my head hit the car in front of me. I looked back, seeing Jordan glaring at me.

"So this is what you meant about your 'Condition' dollface!" I winced at the nickname. I ran over the car, not caring about the pain in my foot from the broken glass. I looked ahead. I saw the Charlirli's car, and ran in another direction. I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to her stuff.

Everbody had vampires wrong. We didn't feed off of blood, we were normal people. Like I had said, It was just a condition. We were all pretty, all of us had teeth with minds of their own, and all of us were misunderstood. I vaulted over the school fence, using a metal pole I had picked up in the ground. I had felt my body rejecting the glass earlier, and now the wound was almost completely healed. We weren't easily injured. Vampire. Ugrhh. The perk was we didn't get scars. I thought of the scar next to Charli's left eye. It was extremely faded and you had to be close to her to see it, but it was still there. Running. Don't stop. I can hear him. Crashing through the bushes behind me. Today was supposed to be great. My... My birthday.. it was supposed to be the best day of the year, but this had to happen. Tears slid down my face. I felt exhaustion crsh over me. I looked around as I slowed down. The forest. I could see a barbed wire fence in front of my, suggesting it was the end of the forest. I had to have been running for a while. the forest was huge, and I had run across it. I heard a panting behind me. I turned around, thinking that Jordan was behind me, and prepared myself for a fight. But I saw a small slender frame, with long hair, covering her eyes. I backed away, knowing that Charli might be mad at me. Suddenly, a darkness clouded my eyes, and I fell, a loud thoud resonating through the clearing.

Charli's Pov

I heard Sam hit the ground. Despite feeling close to fainting myself, I rushed over to him, and using my drink bottle, splashing water over his face. The cold water woke him up, and I smiled at him.

"No matter what, we will stick together."
