1. Meeting Them

“Time to get up sweetie.”

My mom was shaking me and annoying me. I knew that today wouldn’t be a good day since people are really pissing me off. It’s great when one of your best friends spreads a rumor about you, right? Max always made me feel better when people were getting on my nerves. He was my absolute best friend and he didn’t really care what anyone thought. He was also involved in the rumor but he didn’t care. He actually acted as though the rumor was true which kind of made me laugh. He said he wanted to show everyone that what they said, can’t hurt us. He started holding my hand and kissing me on the cheek just to get everyone riled up. Everybody thought we were sleeping together but we were just really close friends. Although we did kiss like once, but we decided to just be friends.

I got up and put on my favorite outfit. My warm long gray sweater with some heels and leggings. People said that I wasn’t the person to be in heels but to me, everyday a girl has to look pretty so I just told them to shut up. Then, I put my makeup on even though Max said I didn’t need it. I grabbed my bag and went out the door.

Once I got to school, I went to Max’s locker, as usual. He was there smiling and winking. I rolled my eyes and went over to him.

He grabbed my ass and said “Morning, beautiful.”

Everyone was staring and in the back of my head I was thinking, really?

“Yea, ok. Anyway, we need to go to the library first block cause I got homework that I didn’t do.”

We almost always went to the library during gym and my teacher didn’t really care. He gave us both 90’s for at least doing something that block, which was good enough for me. The bell rung as soon as I started walking, Max following behind me holding my hand.

When we got to the library, we went to our table and started working. It wasn’t like it was a special table or anything but we always sat there so I guess it was kind of special. Not really but, anyway. Five boys walked in and I thought, oh look the jocks are here. But I hadn’t seen them before, so they must be new. Yea, definitely since they sat with Max and I, I guess hoping to make some friends.

“Um…” I said.

“Oh I’m sorry, we cant sit here.”

The boy with the blonde hair said, in kind of an attitude. He had an accent but I couldn’t figure out where it was from.

“No you can, but you haven’t introduced yourself.”

“Oh, is that something they do in America? I’m Niall. This is Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis. And you are?” He said.

An Irish accent. I knew it. I used to have an accent but I dropped it from being over here for so long. I was kind of offended by the American comment since I wasn’t from here. Even if I was, is there something wrong with that? Whatever.

“I’m Amanda and this is Max.”

“Aw, look lovebirds.” The one named Louis said, batting his eyelashes.

A British accent. What did they take a guy from every country and bring them here? He was actually kind of cute but I just ignored that.

“Yea, no. Make another comment like that, you wont be sitting here. But for now, I guess its ok.”

They sat down and just stared at me and Max.

“Is there some reason why you’re staring?”

“Well, being new here, I thought you would be polite and tell us more about the school and yourselves.” Zayn said.

“This school sucks, you will hate it. My favorite color is blue, and I’m from Mullingar, Ireland. This is Max, again not my boyfriend, his favorite color is red and he’s from Rochester, New York. By the way, you’re in Rochester, New York.” I shot back at him.

“I know where we are, I’m not stupid.” Zayn said.

“You’re from Mullingar?!” Niall practically yelled.

“Isn’t that just what I said?”

“I’m from there too, wait why don’t you have an accent?”

“I don’t have an accent because I have been over here for about 5 years and I have dropped it. Now if you would excuse me, I have to do work, which is what I came here for.”

They started looking through all their schedules and agendas to learn more, but I felt a foot go up my leg.

“Max, can you please stop?”

“I’m not doing anything.”

I guess he wasn’t. I could always tell when he lied, and he wasn’t this time.

I looked up at all the boys and saw a smirk on Louis’ face. Really? I already think he is cute, and he starts flirting? He gave me a look and winked. I cant fall for a new kid. No, no, no. But then he started biting his lip and that was so hot. I knew I would fall for this kid one time or another and I guess I just have to deal with that.
