I Think That Possibly, Maybe I'm Falling For You

A Louis Tomlinson Fanfic

2. Ch. 2

I arrived thirty-five minutes later at the huge building I called work with six chai teas on-hand. I was struggling while trying to press the button on the elevator that would get me to the 12th floor when a body came rushing toward the elevator, almost making me drop the drinks, which were starting to get cold, by the way. I scoffed, cursing under my breath.

“I’m so sorry,” the person spoke up.

I knew that voice. I’d know that voice anywhere. No, it can’t be. No, no, no. Absolutely not. I was so lost in thought that I didn’t realize he was still speaking.

“Are..are you listening to me?”

I finally looked up and to my dismay, it was the person I least wanted to see right now.

“CHRIS?!” Just my luck, of course it was him. Who had I expected it to be? Logan Lerman? Hey, a girl can hope. Gosh, Logan Lerman is gorgeous though. Anyways, “Chris what the hell are you doing here?!” I’m pretty sure if I were in a cartoon, there’d be smoke blowing out of my ears.

“I work here. What are YOU doing here?” He asked raising an eyebrow.

“I work here, too.” I said, composing myself. I couldn’t give him the satisfaction of seeing me torn.

“I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other.” He smiled that beautiful smile of his, the one I had fallen for. The one I grew to despise. Ugh.

It was then that I realized the elevator had reached my floor, I stepped out and walked away, leaving him there without a single word as a reply. He seemed confused, to say the least. I honestly didn’t care. I had somewhere to be and that little unfortunate encounter had made me later than I already was to begin with.

I was so caught up in thinking up an appropriate apology that I wasn’t thinking properly and I just barged into the Ms. Novak’s office.

All eyes were on me. I froze. I’m not one for attention, at all. I felt the heat rise up to my cheeks and I just knew my fair complexion had turned the shade of tomato red.

“Uh..I’m so sorry for my tardiness, Ms. Novak, I feel terrible.” I said, being the first one to speak up.

“As you should be.” She scoffed and turned her attention to the five other people there. Five people I’d seen before. Oh, I knew who they were, everyone did. I just didn’t expect them to be here.

Yes, the five members of One Direction were here. In my boss’ office. Staring at me. Moving their lips. Wait…were they speaking to me?!

“Huh?” I said, cocking my head to the side with a slight look of confusion on my face.

“Are you alright, love?” I could’ve just died at the sound of his lovely voice. Ugh, I bet I looked like a ditz.

“Uh, yeah. I’m cool. Cool as a cucumber—WHOAH” I was casually leaning on the desk and I ended up almost knocking down the teas. But fear not, Captain Horan to the rescue!

“Can’t let this go to waste, can we?” He said in his adorable Irish accent.

I blushed and nodded. Why did I nod? I’m so weird.

He sat back down with the rest of the crew and I took this time to finally take a good look at the boys while Ms. Novak explained how she worked with her clients, the type of clothing she prefers, and how we would be joining them on tour. WAIT, WHAT?! WE?! AS IN HER AND I?!

I shot Ms. Novak a look and then looked at the boys. I could see the apparent grin on each of the boys’ faces. Wow, ok. I guess I’m going on tour with Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. Totally not fangirling in my mind. #LYING

I’m sitting on my bedroom floor, surrounded by pieces of clothing. I was told I had to pack because we are leaving next morning. You would’ve thought Ms. Novak would’ve told me prior to the meeting so I could pack ahead of time, or at LEAST tell me who the new clients were. I could’ve prepared for that moment. Well, not really, it’s One freaking Direction. You can’t prepare for something like that. It’s like…like I can’t even explain. The rest of the meeting had gone pretty well. I didn’t get to interact with the boys because Ms. Novak had me running back and forth finishing some last-minute errands. So I thankfully had no more embarrassing moments.

“The sun goes down, the stars come up..” My phone started playing The Wanted’s ‘Glad You Came’ and I immediately knew it was my best friend, Stephanie, calling me.

“Hello?” I asked, as if I hadn’t already seen her name on the cell phone screen.

“HEY!” I winced and moved my phone a few inches from my ear, just so she wouldn’t deafen me.

“Quiet down, I’ve got a massive headache and you’re making it worse!”

“Geez, love you too. Is that what I get for checking in on you? Grumpy-pants.”

I chuckled and played with a shirt that had ended up on my lap. “Sorry, I’ve been having a rough day. BUT, I’ve got good news and bad news. Which one do you want first?” I asked her, already knowing which one she’d want to hear first.

“Hit me with the bad news, sista!” Stephanie was a care-free 19 year-old, my age, who worked as a photographer for Seventeen magazine. She’d gotten an internship and the magazine loved her so they asked her to stay. Of course, she doesn’t get major projects, but she still manages to get some of her photos published.

“Wellllll.” I stalled, I could tell she wanted the news fast because I could here her sighing. “I’MLEAVINGTOMORROWANDIWON’TBEBACKINTWOMONTHS,” I blurted out in one single breath. I immediately continued with the good news because I knew she wouldn’t be happy about what I had just told her. We were basically inseparable. We were actually in the process of getting our own place together.

“Oh..and I’m going on tour with One Direction!”

“ONE DIRECTION??!?!?!?!??!” She yelled. OK, this time I literally felt my ear pop and I dropped my phone but I could muster out coherent words somewhere along the lines of “take me with,” “you’re so lucky,” and “I’m jealous!”

I picked up the phone and tried calming her down. “That’s right, Steph. Well, I’ve got lots of packing to do so I’ll call you tomorrow at around 6 a.m. so you can pick me up and drop me off at the airport. Ok? Mmk. Toodles!”

I clicked on her before she could respond, knowing that I would get complaints for making her wake up early the next day.

I looked around me and sighed. This is hopeless, I’m just going to close my eyes and take what I pick. That’s just what I did and headed to my bathroom after I was done so I could wash the makeup off my face and brush my teeth. To say I was excited for the tour was an understatement. I was ecstatic. I lay down on my fluffy bed and fell asleep quickly.
