12. Figured out, mostly anyway

(A/N)

Hello again, I know I haven't updated since February, and I'm sorry. I'm going to try and wrap up the book in this one last chapter, if not, one more. I was bored the other day and decided to read this and I realized I just stopped without any like...explanation. I said I was stopping both books in my other book on this website "My Lovely" and I guess I assumed I made one for this book too so yeah, sorry about that. Another thing, for this next chapter or next two chapters, however many it takes to finish this, I'm going to be telling it in the present. So instead of writing something like "I was convinced I was going to go save him" It will be like "I am convinced I am going to save him" The reason why is because I'm writing another book (Not on this website) and it's in the present and I don't want it to screw me up and since I'm now used to writing in the present I don't want to accidentally write it in present in like a sentence when it's supposed to be past. So yeah, sorry again, please enjoy these last few chapters and thank you for reading :)

From the last chapter:
“Ranger.” I comment dumbly.
“Yes... Did you know Ranger is in love with you?”
“What?” I ask stupidly.
“Yes, he told me himself. He loves you more than he ever loved that Regina girl. When I was cutting him, he was pleading for mercy. But he couldn't care less about what I did to him, it was for you Katherine. He was begging for me to stay away from you. But, I didn't agree to anything. So I won’t have a guilty conscience when I kill you. Of course, I can’t kill you just yet. You still have something I want, and I intend to get it. So, it is somewhere in your car I assume. My little friends are looking for it right now. But there is another piece to the puzzle. Once they have found the box, I will make sure the other piece is there. If it is, I’ll kill you. If it’s not, I’ll torture you until I get what I want. Then I’ll kill you.”
“You cut Ranger!?” I scream.
“Really? Out of all that, all you got was that I cut Ranger? Yes, I cut him good. He will probably die from lack of blood and if that doesn't kill him the infections will. Infections, so reliable, you can always count on them to kill people slowly and painfully.”
I am disgusted, who was this girl?
“Who are you?”
“What are you talking about? We've met, we even know each other a little bit. Even if you don't know me, I know you.Oh, I know you Katherine.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I don't know who you are!"
"Actually, you know exactly who I am"
"You're right...I do. You're a psychopath bitch who won't let me see Ranger!" I have never screamed like this before, it's quite thrilling. On the other hand, I'm ready to rip her head off. I don't know who she is though, she hasn't revealed herself. It's pitch black and all I can think about is Ranger. I feel ropes cutting into my skin as I try to twist my hands out of them, unsuccessfully.
"I never said you couldn't see Ranger."
All of a sudden and a blinding light shines in my eyes, it's all around me. My eyes scan for anything, but the white light is blocking my view from anything.
"Get this damn light out of my face!" I screech, until I realize it's just a flashlight shinning in my face.
The light turns away and I glance up at the figure in front of me. I gasp, her face smiles down at me, not kindly, but deathly.
"Oh so you remember me now?''
I'm in shock, how could I not recognize that creepy voice, how her eyes seem to always be staring at you...
"Christy...?"
"Yes you dumbass."
"It's been you? This whole time?"
"Well, and my father. But I don't think you want to hear about it. I think you want to see Ranger, so, here he is."
I realize we're in some sort of abandoned building as she flashes the flashlight in the corner of the room. My voice escapes my lips in a groan of pity as the light falls on a lump, hunching over in pain.
"Ranger?" My voice is soft, it sounds almost hurting.
"You did this to him?!" I holler at Christy. She chuckles,
"No, you did this to him."
I try to get up, but fall instantly when I figure out my ankles are tied as well as my wrists.
"Let him go!" How am I going to get out of this? I pat my back pocket to feel if my phone is still located there, of course it isn't and it gives me the shivers just thinking about how they got it out.
"No. Well, I am going to go help my father find what we need, and I know you can't save him. He's as good as dead. Have fun."
She skips out the door and the light leaves us.
"Ranger? Are you awake?" He groans in reply. "I'm going to try and come over to you okay? I'll find a way out of this."
I lay flat on my stomach and begin to crawl like an inch worm.
After about fifteen minutes, I get over to where he is laying, broken.
"Ranger? Can you hear me? I'm going to get us out of here got it? Then I'm going to beat you up for you yelling at that guy in the tree understand?" I try to smile as I'm holding back my tears. I can't see him but from the brief moment when Christy shined the light on him I remember, he is all cut up, everywhere. He might even be missing his thumb.
"Po...cket" Ranger tries to speak, but I get the message. I check is pockets, in his front pocket is his iPod.
Things are starting to look up, I turn it on and smile at the familiar lock screen, it is a picture of us, when we were kids. Well, I was sixteen. Those were the good days.
He had told me is password in the past so I log right on. I go straight to settings and try to get a Wi-Fi connection. Of course, there is none. I groan and he mimics, I'm not sure if he's teasing or not. I press the home button and scroll through his apps, to see if there is anything helpful. But, there are only stupid little games. I start to get excited when I find a phone app. I've heard of these kinds of apps, usually you get like ten minutes free, now if it does't need internet connection...
I dial 999 to find out, and nearly jump with joy when someone answers.
"Hello, what is your crisis?"
"Hello, me and my friend are in some kind of abandoned building and we've been kidnapped and my friend is hurt please come."
"Please identify your location miss."
"I'm not sure but it's abandoned...it looks like a gas station or something."
"Alright, I think I know where you mean. We'll be there as fast as possible."
"Thank you, please hurry."
The iPod disconnects and I'm left in the dark again. I flash the light from the home screen on Ranger. His face is all bruised and has millions of tiny cuts on it.
Now all there is left to do is wait.
