The Road Trip

Jessica isn't the most popular girl in school and one day her best friend, Steph, wins tickets to the most popular boyband in the world. She and Steph go on a road-trip to get there, along the way they discover new values that will stay with them forever. And their friendship will be tested, will it last, or like the summer will it be coming to a close?

2. And We're Off

I woke up feeling ready to attack the day, I walked to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I put my hair in a messy bun and stood in front of my closet looking for something to wear, I decided on an owl sweater, jean shorts and some Suede Brogues. I walked downstairs and just like I expected my mother had already left for work. Love you, too, Mom. I opened the fridge saw nothing, we'd have to get something on the way. I sat down on the couch and watched some reruns of What I Like About You while I waited for Steph to come. Steph's shoulder length curly hair was black at the top and pink at the bottom, whereas my straight long hair was just dark brown. She is a little taller than me, so about five feet six inches, and pretty thin. We are about the same size except for the height. Steph and I had met at ballet classes when we were six, but didn't become friends until about fourth grade. I heard her loud voice coming from the front hallway at about ten o'clock and seconds later she was sashaying though the doorway. She was wearing a neon green collared tank top, Bermuda jean shorts and tan sandals with her rainbow sunglasses. Obviously she was the more outgoing one.

"Jessica! Are you ready for some fun?!" She jumped over the back of the couch and sat next to me.

"You know it!" I replied enthusiastically. We gathered my stuff and put it in the car. "And we're off!" I hopped into her car and waited for her to get in, I put on my Ray Bans and we set off on our journey.

We stopped at a pancake house in our town before we left town, I got strawberry crepes with whipped cream and powdered sugar on top and Steph got waffles with blueberries.

"So I was thinking we could drive till about eleven and then stay the night at hotel, and then drive the rest of the way tomorrow, sound good?" Steph said shoveling food into her mouth.

"Yeah. Can you please chew like a human?" I asked disgusted by the noises that were coming from her side of the table.

"Sorry I'm just really hungry."

"I can tell." When we were done I paid and we got into her car once again.

The drive was pretty nice we stopped every now and then to sight-see or for rest-stops. We switched positions halfway through, so I was driving and Steph slept. I plugged my IPod in to break the silence, The Killers came on and I belted out the chorus of Somebody Told Me as I drove down the highway. When we reached a hotel to stay for the night I was in great need for sleep but of course Steph was spazzing around and singing and dancing. I laid down and tried to sleep but it wasn't happening so I got up and started dancing with Steph. If you can't stop 'em, join 'em, right?

We didn't get to bed till about three but we did get complaints about the ruckus. That didn't stop us, we would be talking and then we'd randomly burst into song or laughter. We were both exhausted when we actually went to sleep, I hope the whole trip would be half as fun as today was.

A/N Sorry it's short and poopy, it's late, I'm sore, tired and stressed. Until next time, which will hopefully be more frequent now.
