Love on the Run

Kendall was just a normal teenager going to a concert with her best friend. But when danger strikes and an unknown criminal arrives and starts shooting up the area, Kendall finds herself completely alone. Luckily, two brave boys are there to help her out, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles from One Direction. Kendall wasn't much of a fan, but the trio starts to bond while running from a killer. When both band members start to develop feelings for her along the way, Kendall finds herself trying to make the hardest decision of her life.

1. Night Gone Wrong

"Kendall, hurry up and get in!" I heard my best friend Maya say while sticking her head out the car window.

"I'm coming," I called back. "I just have to put on my other shoe."

My favorite band had finally come to Los Angeles! But the more surprising thing was that my parents were letting Maya and I go to the concert by ourselves. I know we are seventeen years old and have our drivers license and everything, but my parents don't seem to have gotten the memo. To them I am still ten years old.

Once I had my boots on the right feet, I hopped into the front seat of Maya's car. She took one look at my outfit and raised her eyebrows.

"What?" I asked.

"You're going to be sorry that you aren't wearing a jacket, it is going to get freezing tonight," she replied.

"Don't worry, I think I'll survive the night," I said sarcastically. But I had no clue what I would be in for.

Maya started the engine and took off down the road. While we drove, I looked through some of her CD's and came across one that made me gag.

"One Direction, really?" I asked her, holding up "Take Me Home."

"Of course!" She replied. "I know you don't like them but most of us do."

I rolled my eyes at her and decided that turning on the radio would be a much better option. I had about 10 seconds of good country music before Maya turned the volume way down.

"You know what I heard?" She said to me excitedly.

"What did you hear?" I replied with a loud irritable sigh.

"I heard that One Direction likes this band too. You know what that means?"

I looked out the window. I knew exactly what that meant. I told her that it was very unlikely for One Direction to be at this concert since they don't even live in the US.

"Whatever," She replied irritated. "A girl can dream."

The concert was at an outside stadium, so once we got there, we decided to shop around for a bit before the show started. It was already getting dark, and I was beginning to feel sorry about not bringing a jacket.

Maya and I stopped for a quick bite, window shopped, and then figured we ought take our seats.

We gave our tickets to the man at the gate, and he let us through, pointing to our row. We sat down and patiently waited for the show to start. At that point, I was extremely excited to see the band, just a little bit annoyed with how crowded it was there. I'm not usually a people person, so big crowds get on my nerves.

I'm actually extremely awkward, which is why I only really have one friend. I've never even had a boyfriend before. Last time I really like someone was in the eighth grade. His name was Austin, and he never even noticed me. After that I just watched all these happy couples around me and to be honest, it still makes me a bit jealous.

"I think it's about to start!" Maya shrieked, tapping my arm. She put her earphones in and got comfortable in her seat. I rolled my eyes at her weak ears and looked towards the stage.

The crowd started roaring as the band came out! They broke out into their first song that everyone started singing along to. The people in the rows in front of me started standing up to where they blocked my view. I got annoyed and stood up too. I quickly shook the feeling though; that was my favorite song. I was really lucky to be there!

The band was in the middle of their third song when it happened.

It came from behind me. My first instinct was to duck down but I was too confused to move. I saw one of the band members on the stage hit the ground hard. The crowd started gasping and I looked to Maya who had the same expression on her face that I did.

I heard it again. Except this time, I whirled around just in time to see a masked figure walking down the aisle next me... holding a gun up. People were screaming, somebody from the audience had gotten hit. I heard someone shout...

After that, everyone started to go into panic mode. It was a stampede. People were running in different directions all trying to get out of the stadium and out to their cars. I started looking around for Maya.

Gone. I started to panic. Suddenly I felt someone hit me hard in the back. It caused me to fall to my knees. Before I knew it, people were running overtop of me.

I must've blacked out. Because I don't remember anything that happened after that.

I opened my eyes. It took me a couple seconds to realize where I was. I was still in the outdoor stadium. It was empty... completely empty.

I was about to stand up when I saw two figures floating over top of me.

One had brown curly hair. The other had dark, spiked up hair. They both had beautiful eyes. At first I thought that they were the shooters so I froze.

My mind was quickly changed when they spoke.

"Are you alright?" The curly haired boy asked me.

The dark haired boy looked to him and gently hit him on the arm. "Obviously she isn't alright, Harry. She was knocked unconscious."

Harry shrugged and looked down at me.

Finally I gathered enough energy to speak. "Who are you guys?"
