The Lying Game

I'm Olivia. I lived with my mom and stepdad, but my mother is hardly ever home. Without my mom knowing, my stepdad, Andy, would hit me, kick me, and slap me if I didn't do things right. I couldn't take it anymore. I ran away to my best friends house. And that best friend was Louis Tomlinson. I'm very embarrassed about what had happened, and it upsets me to talk about. But it's hard going back to normal after what happened. When I finally land on my feet in London, I follow Louis and live his life with him. I become very close friends with the rest of the lads. Maybe a little too close. But I don't want to tell them my story. How many secrets can I keep from everyone? I guess I'll just have to play The Lying Game.

39. Chapter 39

'I moved my hair out if the way since the cold wind blew it in my face. I sighed and sat down on the park bench. I looked around me. Kids where playing football on the field and coupled walked hand in hand around the small park. I turned my head and saw William, but quickly got up and walked away quickly. I shook my head and walked by a maple tree. I looked around me and inhaled deeply. "Olivia!" Someone said. I looked around. "Liv." The same voice said. I stopped dead in my tracks and my heart started eating rapidly. I knew that voice. "Where are you!!" I yelled. "Right here." I whipped around to find the love of my life standing before me. "Matthew!" I screamed and jumped in Matthew's arms. "I missed you so much!" I said tears in my eyes. "I love you so much, Olivia. And I want you to know that." Matthew said. A tear ran down my cheek. He let me down and kissed me sweetly. "I love you too." I said. I kissed him again but this time we held it. "HEY!!" We where interrupted when a loud and angry voice called out to us. We pulled away and I gasped. "What the hell are you doing with Olivia?" It was William. "What do you mean?" Matthew said. "Olivia's MY girlfriend." William says. My mouth dropped open, and so did Matthew's. "WHAT?" I screamed. William grabbed Matthew and held him against the tree. "This is what you get for kissing MY girl." William said and threw back his fist. William's fist punched Matthew straight in the mouth, then another, and another. "STOP WILLIAM!" I screamed and tried to pull William off of Matthew. William kept throwing punches at Matthew. "OLVIA!" Someone screamed. With William still punching Matthew, I turned around. Harry was standing right there, across the park. "Hey, gorgeous."'
I shot up in my bed, swear pouring down my face. I looked around and I was in my room. I put my hand on my forehead and closed my eyes. It was just a dream. I got up an walked in the den. "Hey, Gray." I said and sat down by Grayson. "How long have you been here?" I asked. "All night." He said. "Why?" I asked. "I thought you needed some company." He said. I nodded and I laid my head on his shoulder. It's been about a week since me and Harry broke up, and I still haven't really recovered. When I told Grayson what happened, of course he was extremely mad. He still hasn't gotten over it. Niall has come over a little bit, but not much. I told Louis what happened and he told Liam and Zayn. As for football, they've lost every game since I left. "I miss him." I said. Grayson kisses my head. "Don't cry." He says as I let out a sob. He wrapped his arms around my head as I sobbed into his chest. "This is enough. I'm going over there." Grayson said. "No!" I yelled into his chest. "Why?! I can't bear to see you like this! Your my baby sister, Olivia." He says. I pulled away and wiped my tears away. "It's not worth it." I said in between my cries. "Yes it is." Grayson whispered. I closed my eyes and he pulled me back into him. "Shhh." Grayson's calming voice said as he combed through my hair.
I hated this. My little sisters heart is broken, and it was all because of a famous boy band member. I'm going over to Harry's house, no matter what Olivia says. I rubbed her back and rubbed her scalp like she liked. After a while, the crying stopped and her breathing was normal. I leaned my head down and checked her face. Her eyes where closed. I carefully lifted her up and took her into her room. I laid her down on the bed and covered her up. Her eyes slowly opened. "Don't leave." She whispered. I kneeled down beside her. "Your all I have now." She said. My heart melted at her words. A small tear ran down my cheek. "Of course." I said. She smiles weakly and closed her eyes back. I waited until she fell asleep. I quickly got up and walked out of the room. I shut the door quietly and grabbed my keys off the table and hurried out.
Once I finally reached the flat, only Harry's car was in the driveway. I parked my car and got out. I walked up to the door an knocked loudly. The door opened shortly after and a very broken Harry stood in front of me. "Grayson?" He said. "Look, we need to talk." I said. "Okay... Come in..?" He said. I walked swiftly pasted him and into the home. He closed the door and followed me into the kitchen. "What's the problem?" He asked. "You. Your the problem, Harry. You wanna know why Olivia lied about her past and didn't tell you about Matthew? Because she wanted you to like her for her. Not for her past. And about Matthew... She's still broken about that. She HATES talking about it. That's why." I let out. Harry stood there, looking terrified. "You wanna know what she's doing now and for the past week? Crying." I said. Harry's eyes started to tear up. "And Harry, she's lost too many people. She needs you." I add, my tone more soft. Harry looked up at me. "I trust you." I whispered. "I trust you too keep my baby sister safe." I added. A tear ran down Harry's left cheek. "I won't let you down, Grayson." Harry choked out. I smiled a little. "I'm in love with your sister. And no one can change that." He said. I smiled. "And she loves you." I said. He smiles at the ground. I smiled and nodded. I backed away and turned away. I walked over to the door. "Thank you." I said as I turned around. "No, thank you." He said. "For what?" I asked. "For trusting me." Harry said. I smiled and walked out the door. I drove back to my home, feeling more accomplished as ever.
I closed my eyes a let the tears run down my face. I wiped them away with my sleeve and walked over to the phone that still laid on the floor, from where I threw it. I picked it up and examined it. The screen was cracked all the way around, except the middle of the screen. I turned it on and the cracks stopped right above me and Olivia's head, on the picture of us, and the cracks began again right below it. I smiled and rubbed the screen. I inhaled deeply and walked over to my keys. I picked them up and hurried out the door. Once I got in my car, I turned on the radio and 'Hey There Delilah' came on. I smiled huge as I drove down the streets. We where truly meant to be.
I reached Olivia's house and quickly got out into the cold afternoon air. I walked up to the door and started to open it, but it was locked. I cursed under my breath as I dug through my pockets for my keys. I took them out and fumbled for the house key. I found it and slowly unlocked the door. I stepped in and closed and locked the door back. I searched the small flat for Olivia, but didn't find her. I slowly opened her bedroom door and found her laying on the bed, eyes closed. God, she was so pretty. I walked over to the bed and knelt down. I stroked her cheek softy. I knew she was awake, because I saw her flinch when I touched her. I got up and walked over to the other side of the bed. I slowly got in the bed and slid next to her. I ran my fingers through her soft hair. I leaned over so my lips hovered over her ear. "I'm sorry, Olivia." I whispered just loud enough for her to hear. "I had no idea you've been through so much. I'm so sorry." I whispered. Still no reaction. A few minutes went by and my eyes started to burn. "Olivia, I'm in love with you. I love you so much and I really mean it. Please..." I whispered. Still nothing. "Olivia please!" I said. Tears ran down my face and there was a lump in my throat. I choked out a sob and quietly got out of the bed. I walked over to the door and started to open it. "Wait, Harry." I turned around. Olivia sat up in her bed, tears running down her cheeks. "I love you too. I love you to the end of space and back." She said. I smiled. "But there is no end of space." I said and wiped my tears away. "Exactly." She said. My body started to shake and the tears fell down my face. Olivia got up and walked towards me. Her arms where thrown around my waist and my arms wrapped around her neck. We both cried out and her body was shaking also. I lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around me. I held her tightly and smiled deeply. She pulled her head out from the crook of my neck and looked me in the eyes. She put both of her hands on my cheeks and smiled, tears in her eyes. "Hey, gorgeous." I choked out. She smiled and pulled my lips to hers. Still kissing, I let her down and she leaned against the wall behind us. "I love you so much, Olivia." I said into the kisses. I felt her tear land on my nose. I smiled and we pulled away. "And I love you." She said. I smiled and we hugged each other tightly. I wiped a tear away from her cheek then kissed her cheek. I took her hand in mine and we walked together in the den. We laid down on the couch together and watched spongebob until we both couldn't hold our eyes open any longer. We got up and walked into her bedroom. She got in then I did. I wrapped my arms around Olivia, and she laid her head down on my chest. I closed my eyes and slowly kissed her ear lobe. "Night, Liv." I said.
