The Lying Game

I'm Olivia. I lived with my mom and stepdad, but my mother is hardly ever home. Without my mom knowing, my stepdad, Andy, would hit me, kick me, and slap me if I didn't do things right. I couldn't take it anymore. I ran away to my best friends house. And that best friend was Louis Tomlinson. I'm very embarrassed about what had happened, and it upsets me to talk about. But it's hard going back to normal after what happened. When I finally land on my feet in London, I follow Louis and live his life with him. I become very close friends with the rest of the lads. Maybe a little too close. But I don't want to tell them my story. How many secrets can I keep from everyone? I guess I'll just have to play The Lying Game.

23. An Unexpected Vistor

I jolt awake to the sound of my phone ringing. I rub my eyes and pick up my phone. I don't even look at the caller, I just hit accept. "Hello?" I say, my morning voice echoing through my room. "Hey, gorgeous." It's Harry. I smile. "Hey! Merry Christmas!" I say, sitting up. I hear him chuckle. "Merry Christmas, Liv." He says. I giggle and put the phone in between my face and shoulder. I get up out of the bed and stroll into the kitchen. "So how's your family?" He asks. I bit my lip. "They're good. Just not up yet." I say as I open the fridge door. "How's yours?" I ask. "I'm the only one up also. And they are doing fine. I talk about you a lot. They can't wait to meet you." He says. I smile and pour some water into a cup. I put it into the microwave and hit the buttons. "That's so sweet. I can't wait to meet them also." I say. I lean up against the counter. "I miss you." He says. "I miss you more." I say. "Hey, I told you not to miss me too much." He says. I giggle. "And I said no promises." The microwave dings and I carefully take out the cup with the boiling water in it. "What was that?" Harry asks. I place the cup on the counter and hurry over to the pantry and get out a tea bag. "Oh, I'm just making tea." I say. "Oh." I drop the tea bag into the cup and take it into the den. I lay down on the sofa and tuck myself in the blankets. "Did you sleep well?" I ask. "Not really." "Why?" I blow on the hot tea and slowly take a sip. "I missed you not being there." He says. I smile and take another sip. "I miss the taste of your lips." Harry begins to deeply but crackly sing. I laugh. "You like that?" He asks. "You are beautiful no matter what they say." I sing. He laughs. "We're so weird." I say. We both laugh. I hear voices through the phone and Harry says something to them. "Oh, well I gotta go, Liv. Merry Christmas." He says. "Merry Christmas." I hang up. I put my phone on the side table and get up. I walk into the kitchen and decide on eating a banana. I peel it and take a bite out of it while I walk back into the den. I was just about to sit down when I hear a knock at the door. Confused, I get up and walk towards the door. I look through the little peep hole. I gasp and sling open the door. I stood there, speechless. "Hey, sissy." He said. "Grayson?!" I say. He holds out his arms and pokes out his lips. "That's what they call me." He says. I smile and he attacks me with a hug. "I haven't seen you in like a year!" I say. "And I haven't seen you." He says. I pull away and we stand there smiling at each other. He hasn't really changed much, his short brown hair and grayish green eyes still the same as the last time I saw him. For us to be 4 years apart, we sure did look alike. "How did you find me?" I asked. "Louis told me." Grayson said. I smile a little. He looks at the banana in my hand then back at me. Without breaking eye contact, he reaches down and takes the banana right out of my hand. He bring it up to his mouth and takes a bite out of it, puts it back in my hand, smiles at me with a mouth full of banana and pushes me out of the way and walks in. "Still haven't changed." I said. "And you haven't either, sissy." He says. I roll my eyes and shut the door. Grayson drops his backpack down and lays down on the couch. "Really, haven't changed." I say. "So are you staying tonight?" I asked, slapping his legs to move up so I could sit down. He moves them up and I sit down. He drops his feet back onto my stomach and I make a grunting sound. "Yeah, I hope you don't mind. I just needed some company." He said. "Oh it's fine. I needed some too. I miss mom." I said. He nods his head. "I do too. But I sure don't miss Andy." He said. We spent a while talking about Andy, and I explained to him why I left. I told him about me and Harry, and Matthew. We decide to go and see if any gas station or store was open and when we found one we went in and bought all the remaining Christmas cookies and brought them back to my flat. We played around with each other while we baked all of them. When they where all finished, we evened the cookies up and fought over the last one, just like we always did. Our competitive side getting the best of us. "HA! I WON!" I screamed as I yanked the cookie off the plate and stuffed it in my mouth. Grayson rolls his eyes. "Whatever." He says and picks up a cookie off his plate. I smirked and snatched the cookie right out of his hand. "WHAT THE DUMP OLIVIA??!" Grayson screams at me as I take off into the den. Grayson runs after me and grabs my shirt, pulling me towards him. I quickly stuff the entire cookie into my mouth. I started laughing as he tackles me to the ground. I see a small smile begin to peak from his lips. He pins me to the ground and sits on me. "GRAYSON. GET. UP. YOUR CRUSHING MY ORGANS." I yell. "NO!" Grayson yells back. I struggle to get up, but the massive musclier boy on top of me and me being weak from laughing and running, it was impossible to get away. But he doesn't scare me though, he's my brother and I know that he would never want to hurt me. I make a long grunting noise and Grayson starts to laugh. "What was that?" He asks, laughing. "This!" I yell and LIGHTLY shove my knee into his "area". Grayson tightly closes his eyes and goes limp on me. "Oh, sorry." I say and push him off me. I stand up and look at the boy laying on the floor. He slowly gets up and leans on me for support. "You defiantly haven't changed." He says I'm between breaths. I scrunch up my face at him and help him get his balance back. Once he finally recovered, we went back in the kitchen and got the plates of cookies. Grayson carefully guarded his plate with his large arm. I roll my eyes and pretend to grab one. He spazed out and almost dropped the whole plate. I laugh and run into the den. I lay down on the sofa and Grayson lays on the other side. We eat our plate of cookies and watch old Christmas movies that we grew up watching. It was getting dark and I finished my last cookie. I looked over at Grayson who was holding his stomach and looking at the tv. My eyes started to get heavy but my phone vibrates. I pick it up and see that it was from Harry. He sent me a picture of himself and he had his tongue out. I smile and hold up the phone to take a picture. I closer my eye and scrunch up my face. We took turns sending awkward selfless of ourselves. Grayson occasionally giving me weird looks. It was about 10:00 when I fell asleep. I woke back up at about 2:30 and saw that Grayson wasn't on the couch anymore. I get up and stride towards my room. I didn't turn on the light, I just went straight to my bed. I pulled back the covers and literally jumped in. I felt a body underneath me and I screamed. So did Grayson. "Grayson, GET OUT." I said. He groaned and rolled over to the other side of the bed. I roll my eyes. "No, I meant get out of my room." I said. He didn't move. I sleepily leaned over and pushed him off the bed. He landed with a loud thump. He still didn't get up. I rolled my eyes and stood on my bed, leaned over and grabbed the other pillow and a blanket and dropped it over the motionless boy. The pillow landed on his back and the blanket on his head. I swatted the air and fell back on my bed. I curled up in the covers and fell asleep.
