A general rant on how to write stories

I realise quite a few people have done these, but here's mine. Just general ways to improve your stories (in my opinion). Or I might just complain about how people write things in general.

8. Realisticyness

Is that a word above? I have no idea. Maybe. Or I could've invented it.

Sorry, rambling.

Anyway, realisticyness is something rarely found in movellas, and something that needs to be changed.

An example where it is unrealistic (a little copied from Sakura's thing): A girl gets raped by 4 different guys. She then eats breakfast with them, and promptly falls in love with 2 of them.

Sound right? I thought not.

As Sakura said, rape and other such things can take years to recover from, and you'll never be the same again. Of course that would never happen in real life.

In fantasy, clearly, unrealisticyness is accepted. But the characters reactions still have to be realistic. If a death dragon comes along no-one's going to be throwing a party.

Basically, next time you're writing something, think about whether it would happen in real life or not (excluding fantasy and the likes), and then change it; as the chances are, it probably wouldn't.
