Fragile *Complete*

When Alex set out to find her long lost brother, she never guessed he'd be famous. But can she get him to remember her, that tiny blank in his childhood memory? Or will his life prove too much of a distraction?

I was completely shocked. Would he really remember? What did he remember? Is this all he'll remember? "What was your dream about," I asked him. Was it a memory we shared?

"I was just a random dream. My sister and I were playing in a field, running around in the grass. It was so tall, it went above both of our heads." He lapsed into the state people get in when they recall memories. He laid his head on the back of the couch, hands folded on his stomach, staring at the ceiling. "I guess we were playing tag or something, because we were both running. I think I was chasing her. I finally caught her and we laid on the ground laughing. I made her a crown out of nearby grass and flowers, and she fell asleep on my chest. I picked her up and took her home and tucked her in bed. Then I woke up." He shrugged and looked at me.

I remembered that! It was one of my favorite memories of us. And also one of the last. "That's so sweet," I told him. "What are you going to do now that you might have a sister?"

"Hopefully I'll find her when we're on tour. If I don't, when I come back home I'll see if I can't find her. Now I know how you feel about your brother."

"Yeah... Well, I hope you find her on tour. I'll look for my brother while you're gone, and hopefully when you come back I'll have found him."

"Sorry to ruin your plans, but you're coming with us." He smiled at me like a three-year-old.

"Really? Why would you want me on tour with you?"

"Oh don't," I was crushed. "I'm just kidding, I do, but Liam really wants you to come. "

I laughed. "As if," I said, still in disbelief over the fact that I was going on tour.

"Well, we leave the the U.S. in a month, so get better and find your brother. Go to sleep, Love," he said, laying me back down and stroking my hair. He even sang to me until I fell asleep. Just like old times...

Niall's POV

I woke up slowly; and painfully. Ouch! I sat up and rubbed my back. When had I fallen asleep on the floor? The last thing I remembered was Alex on the, ALEX!

My head snapped over to the couch, but Alex was gone. I could tell she was just there, her blankets were in a jumbled mess and it was barely eight. Did she really get up this early? I got up and walked to the bathroom, but as I got closer, I could hear someone. The door was open so I peeked in. Alex was on her knees retching. I felt so bad for her. I sat down beside her and pulled her hair back, rubbing small circles in her back.

After a minute or two she stopped. "Do you need me to get you a glass of water?" She weakly nodded and I walked over to the kitchen, grabbed a glass, and filled it with water. When I returned to the restroom she was washing her hands and face, but she was shaking, and I could tell she was going to collapse soon. "Hey," I said. "Come here." I set the glass on the water and picked her up. I closed the toilet seat and sat down on it, pulling her onto my lap. I reached down and handed her the glass of water. She nodded thanks and sipped at the water. "Feeling any better?"

"Let's get you back to the couch, okay?"

"Yes please..." I picked up her fragile body and carried her over to the living-room. I carefully placed her on the couch and pulled her covers over her. I could see she was shivering, so I went and got her two more blankets, putting them on top of her. "Thanks," she said, teeth chattering.

"No problem." I was really worried. She looked terrible and cold; and she already had six blankets on her. What would Liam and Louis do if she was sick? We had strict orders from management to stay away from people who were sick, but they were the ones who were closest to her. I was close with her, but not as much as the other boys, and I was having a hard time staying away from her. She fell asleep after a while, and I soon followed.

Liam's POV

I could see how sick she was, even just lying there, asleep. I was grateful to Niall for helping her, but I felt bad that it wasn't me. I should've been there for her. Oh well, there was nothing I could do about it. It's not like it bothered me. The only thing that bothered me was how sick she was. Why was she this sick? She seemed fine two days ago. Oh well, I'd ask the boys what to do once they all woke up. It was ten and they were all still asleep, so I decided I'd make breakfast: bacon, waffles, and eggs.

After a couple of minutes, Niall woke up, screamed, and ran to the kitchen. This in turn woke the other guys up and they all came to the kitchen. All but Louis.

I walked back to the living room and saw him sitting on the couch staring at Alex with an odd expression. "What's up, Mate?"

"I had another dream about a sister I might have. Except I'm starting to think these aren't dreams, but memories." He was remembering? Really? Could it be this simple? Wait and see?

"So why are you staring at her like that?"

"My "little sister" looked a lot like her... Same eyes, same hair color, same, well, everything!" I could tell how frustrated Louis was. I was frustrated too! I wanted to tell him so badly, but I'd promised Alex. Oh well, at this rate, he'd figure it out soon enough.

"Come on, let's eat," I said, gesturing towards the kitchen.

"Should we wake up Alex and see if she wants anything to eat?"

"Yeah, let's wake her up." I kneeled down by her and shook her shoulder. "Alex," I said softly. "It's time to wake up." I shook her harder when she wouldn't wake up. "Alex?" I was worried now. Why wasn't she waking up?

"Hey, I have this weird feeling that she'll be alright. Let's go eat and come back and check on her later. Sound good?"

"Yeah," I sighed, standing up. I had that feeling too. I knew she was going to be fine, but it still worried me how sick she was, and now she was unconscious. This was going to be a long week.
