Fragile *Complete*

When Alex set out to find her long lost brother, she never guessed he'd be famous. But can she get him to remember her, that tiny blank in his childhood memory? Or will his life prove too much of a distraction?

7. Meeting the Parents

Liam's POV

"Parents, as in both of them?" They were divorced, so nobody saw them together very often.

"Yeah, they try and come over once or twice a year for dinner so I can see them both," he explained.

"Great," I moaned, getting up and chasing after Alex.

"Alex," I yelled when I caught up to her. "I know, I know, but you can't just leave."

"Yes I can, Liam. I don't want to see them ever again. They're the ones who gave me up, remember? They don't want me." I could tell she was fighting back tears. She cried a lot lately, but I could tell she was the kind of person who never shed a tear. She was going through too much in such a short amount of time. I grabbed her arm gently, stopping her on the sidewalk.

"Please, come back. You can stay at my place tonight if you want, or we can go out to dinner with the other boys while Louis stays home with his parents, or if they go out we'll stay in." I didn't want her to go. I wanted things to work out between her and Louis, for the both of them.

"Fine," she said, slowly turning around. I pulled her in a hug and rubbed circles in her back and she started to cry.

"It's alright," I cooed, "just let it out."

Alex's POV

It felt good to let everything out to Liam, I knew he wouldn't judge me. When I had finished crying into his chest, we walked back to the house.

"ALEX!!!" I was immediately bombarded with hugs from all the boys; except Louis.

I walked over to him, hanging my head. "I just want my brother back," I whispered in his hear, hugging him. He hugged me back.

"I know, and I'm sorry I'm keeping you here, but I just want to get to know you better. I know it sounds weird, but I feel like I know you in the back of my mind. Tea," he said, handing me his cup.

"Sure," I shrugged, taking the cup from his hands and taking a sip. I looked over at the boys, gaping at me. Oops, I forgot; nobody ever drinks out of Louis's mug. I didn't know why, but he was my brother, and I honestly didn't care. "What?"

Niall's POV

I could tell Alex was nervous about Louis's parents. She just kept pacing around her room, trying not to think about what might happen. She was dressed up since the boys and I were taking her out while Louis had his parents over.

"I'm going to go get a drink of water," she told me, her heals clicking as she walked down the stairs.

Alex's POV

I was wearing a black ruffle dress with a white lace ruffle at the bottom and on the shoulders. This particular dress stopped just short of my knees. I coupled it with white heels, a few bracelets, and a tan straw fedora. I hoped I looked good!

I was getting nervous, so I told Niall I was going to go down and get a drink of water. Harry assigned him to watch over me and make sure I wasn't going to run away, again.

"Hey," said Lou, wearing a pair of jeans and one of his many striped shirts. "Woah, you look amazing! Where are the boys taking you tonight?"

"They wont tell me." Louis started walking towards the living room, intending to plop himself down while waiting for his parents, but just then, the door knocked. Louis opened it, and I just stood there, frozen.

"Louis, my bo-" His father stopped mid-sentence. Both of his parents stared at me, utter shock written on their faces. I imagine my looked much the same.
