Fragile *Complete*

When Alex set out to find her long lost brother, she never guessed he'd be famous. But can she get him to remember her, that tiny blank in his childhood memory? Or will his life prove too much of a distraction?

13. Coming Home

Louis's POV

The boys looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I thought she was my sister. But I truly, honestly thought she was. I remembered everything about her, just nothing with her. I had no memories of her, just blanks.

"What makes you say that," Liam asked me.

"Well, I just have this feeling. I mean, I always knew my parents were hiding something from me, and whenever I complained about being an only child, they'd always look at each other funny. And do you remember when she played the piano and I sang a song you guys hand never heard?" They all nodded their heads. "Well, I remember doing that when I was a kid, I just never remembered who played. I always just assumed it was one of my parents, but thinking about it, none of them play. What? I'm not crazy, am I?" They were all looking at me like I was.

"No, you're not crazy, Louis. Do you want to get a blood test while we're here," Liam said.

"Nah, I don't want to betray her trust, and what if I'm not? No, let's just go home. C'mon lads," I said, standing up and walking to Alex's room. I peeked my head in and she was sitting on the edge of the bed. "Ready to go, Love?" She nodded and came over to us. We all headed out to the car after I signed her release papers and drove home. I looked in the rear-view mirror to see Liam and Alex having a hushed conversation. What could they possibly be talking about?

Liam's POV

Louis signed her out and we all hopped into the car. A few minutes into the ride, Alex leaned over and whispered in my ear, "Is he my brother?"

"Who, Louis?" She nodded. "Yeah."

"Does he remember me?"

"No, sorry, and he doesn't know either."

"Okay, thanks." She started to fumble with her hands. I put my arm around her and she leaned into me. I could get used to this.

Zayn's POV

We hopped into the car and drove home. I really liked Alex. I didn't have many friends, well, true friends. The boys were like brothers to me, and most of my friends back home were awkward around me. They didn't know what to say to, thinking they were uninteresting and I didn't want to talk to them, even though I really did. I took some solace in the fact that this happened with a few of the boys' friends too. But, Alex was different. She was sweet and kind and she knew who we were and didn't care. I wanted us to be really good friends from the start, but she was so reserved and whenever one of us tried to get close to her, she'd push us away. I'd always assumed it was because of something in her past, but if she didn't remember her past, did that mean we could be friends? That she'd open up to Liam? I could see how he looked at her. It was adorable. He'd do anything for her.

Alex's POV

We pulled up to a house I assumed was theirs. Ours. Man, it was enormous! I stepped out of the car and just stood there in amazement. I heard someone chuckle behind me.

"I just think your reaction is funny." Was Harry always like this?

"It's so big!"

"C'mon." Louis put his arm around my shoulders and we walked in. It was even bigger on the inside. "Are you hungry, Love?"

"No, I'm fine. I'm just a bit tired." Did I have a room here?

"I'll show you to your room." Louis lead me upstairs. "This is Harry's room." He tapped the first door on the right. "That one is mine." He pointed to the door at the far end of the hallway, again on the right. We stopped in front of a door in between the two on the left. "This one is yours." He opened the door for me and I walked in. It was massive! There was a large king-sized bed in the middle with about 15 throw pillows. There were two doors on the left, a bookcase and chair on the right, and a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall across from the bed. Everything was either a light grey, a shade of cream, or a baby blue. I loved it.

"Thank you."

"No problem. Your clothes are in that closet," he said, pointing at the door farthest away from us.

"Okay. Thank you." I walked over and sat on the bed, pulling off my black ankle boots. "Umm..." Louis was still just standing in my doorway, a sad look in his eyes.

"Oh, right, sorry," he said, and walked out, closing the door behind him. I walked into the closet and marveled at the size. These guys must be loaded! I looked around and found a pair of black sweats and a red tank top. I changed into them, throwing my clothes in the hamper. I closed the door and flopped face down on my bed. I was out in seconds.

Liam's POV

Louis came back down the stairs and joined Zayn, Niall, Harry, and I on the couches. I spoke up first. "What are we going to do? We can't familiarize her with anything because she's new to everything here. She only got here," I counted the days in my head, "eight days ago."

"I know." Louis put his head in his hands. His voice was muffled but I could still here him crying.

"Lou..." I went over to him and pulled him into a hug. He didn't remove his hands from his face but his body was wracked with sobs. It wasn't long before we were pulled into a group hug by the other guys.

We broke apart and Louis wiped his tears. We all stood there looking at him, waiting for him to break, but instead he snapped his head and looked at the stairs, then bolted up them. Once his foot hit the first step we heard it; Alex was screaming.

How did he know? Was it some sort of sibling bond? He'd only realized their connection today. I had a feeling life was only going to get more interesting from here.
