Lost In Paradise (One Direction Not Famous)

Laila has run into trouble. Bad grades, drinking, smoking, drugs, you name it. When she is shipped off to her dads for the summer, her dad who lives in Hawaii, she thinks it will be the worst summer of her life. She starts working at her dads swim shop. There, she meets Liam, her dads other employee. Will it be paradise or will it be a nightmare?

24. Chapter 24

(Laila POV)

I woke up, and I noticed I wasn't in a bed. I shot up, not really remembering what happened last night. There was a sharp pain in my chin. I lightly touched the area right on my jaw. I winced at the contact. I breathed in deeply and stretched, swinging my legs over the side of the couch. I walked into the kitchen and saw Liam asleep at the table. I giggled and walked over to him. I shook him gently. "Liammmmmmmm. Li. Liam wake up!" I said. He slowly lifted up his head, rubbing his eyes and yawning. He saw that it was me and his features softened. "Hey!" He said in a soft tone. He pulled me into a gig and my chin rested on his forehead. "Ouch." I said, pulling away.  He frowned. "Sorry." He mumbled, scratching the back of his neck. "Hey," I lifted his face up so he could catch my gaze. "it's not your fault. If anybody's, it's mine for being stupid and going out there." I smiled a small, crooked smile. I scrunched up my face because of the strain it put on my jaw. He nodded, but I could tell it was still going to bother him. I changed the topic quickly. "So did Laila and Harry stay the night or..." "Yeah they're in you and Chloe's room. We should probably wake them up." He said and we both started walking down the hallway. We walked up to the door and I was about to open the door when Liam stopped me. He put a finger to his lips and I put my ear to the door. They were talking. Harry was speaking. "What happened with that bruise on your cheek, and the bruises on your arms and legs too?" He asked. Harry was a really strong guy, but I guess when he thought about something happening to Lillian, all that manliness went away. It was all evident in his voice. Lillian huffed then spoke. "I um....was walking down the stairs at the shop and I fell." She said. There was a uncomfortable silence. "Lillian, there aren't any stairs in the shop." He huffed. "Oh right, I meant my....house?" It came out as more of a question then a statement. "Lillian, there aren't any stairs at your house either." He chuckled. "Jesus Christ Harry! I just fell!" She screamed. We heard the footsteps across the carpet so I pulled Liam into the bathroom with me. I closed the door quietly. I turned around to face Liam and saw that he had a worried expression. "You think he bought it?" He asked. I looked down. "You want the truth or the lie?" I asked, looking up to meet his gaze. "Truth." He said. He leaned in and put his forehead to mine. I breathed in deeply. "Honestly, no."
