Heal Me

We'd run away from home, my little sister and I. We were helpless. Until he came along with his dark, bushy eyebrows and windswept hair. His name was Liam.

5. Room Service

Isabelle’s POV-

I woke up as warm sunlight spread across my face, stretching slowly as I opened my eyes. I blinked. I blinked again. It wasn’t a dream. I was in a really big room with a double bed in the middle of it. Lydia lay beside me, staring up at me as she awoke, startled at my sudden movement as I twitched my body to a sitting position on the bed, crossing my legs as I did so. I pulled her slowly onto my lap, holding her close to me, taking note of the teddy bear in her hand. Everything that happened yesterday was real. I couldn’t believe it, for year I’d wished to be free of that awful house and that disgusting monster of a father and now here I was. Free. But where was Liam?

Liam’s POV-

I felt like I owed that beautiful girl some breakfast, she looked like she hadn’t eaten in days; her cheeks looked slightly hollowed out, her bones had only a thin layer of skin on them and she seemed weak. I didn’t know what she wanted so I ordered everything off of the room service menu. As I carried it through to the bedroom I saw that she had woken up and was staring round the room in awe. Gradually her gaze fell upon me and she smiled shyly, brushing her hair behind her ears as it fell onto her face once more.

Slowly I set the room service trays onto the bedside tables and some on the floor, taking note that her bandages were soaked with blood now. She must be in a lot of pain but was doing well at not showing it, although she was wincing nearly every time she moved. Who on earth could have done something like that to her?! Clearing my throat to break the silence, I sat down on the end of the bed, careful not to get too close in case I frightened her.

“Now,” I said in a low, soothing voice, “start from the beginning and tell me what happened.”
