12. Nothingness

Harry's POV

I woke up early and when I entered the kitchen, Niall was already there with Shiloh.

"Hey, Harry," said Niall. "We're heading over to Louis', maybe you should come. I don't really want to bring Cricket."

"That's fine," I said. "Let me just tell her we're heading out.

"Just leave her a note," said Shiloh. "No point in worrying her so early."

Shiloh talked so grown up, and to me like I was a child. It started to piss me off.

"Okay," I just simply said as I turned and headed towards my bedroom. I've decided to let her stay there while I used the guest bedroom. I opened the door slowly and found the pad of paper I kept in my bedside table. I wrote the small note, explaining that I was going out and would be back soon. I didn't tell her where I was going though.

I placed the paper down and folded it, writing her name and then placed it on the pillow beside her. That's when I saw something that wasn't quite right.

She held something in her hand. It was yellow and round and I leaned over her to reach for it. I pulled the little bottle free from her grasp and the breath almost left my body.

She found my sleeping medication. The kind my doctor gave me when I could never sleep, the stuff strong enough where you only needed one and you would be out for more than eight hours.

I opened the bottle and tipped it over, nothing came out. I almost had half a bottle when I last looked.

What else could I do? I begun to panic.

"Cricket?" I said leaning down, closer to her. "Crick?" My fingers went to the side of her throat, barely any type of pulse was visible. "Niall!" I yelled and within moments the door was banged open and I almost yelled at him for being so loud.

"She's barely breathing," I said, sitting next to her. "She found sleeping medication; and she had to take the rest of it. The bottle's empty."

"Oh for fuck sake," he groaned as he picked up his cell phone from his back pocket. "I will never understand you two. Hello operator? I need an ambulance, we have a girl overdosed on sleep aids…."

Niall kept talking with the operator as I reach for Cricket's hand. Why would she do something like this? How could she? Then I realized that most of this was my fault. I was the one who started this.

I was the one who allowed her to swallow the pill. I was the one….

Cricket's POV

It was strange, this feeling. Making me almost feel lightweight. My eyelids were heavy, unable to be opened. It felt good, not worrying, just relaxing.

I was like this for a couple of hours then I heard my name being called, but I couldn't reply.

"Cricket?" Was the first time and the voice was familiar. Harry seemed to be worried, upset even. What was wrong? He shouted my name again and then his cold fingers touched my neck and he yelled for Niall.

I tried to open my eyes, tell him nothing was wrong, but I couldn't. Instead the worrying made my head hurt and I fell back into a world of nothingness.

Occasionally lights would shine brightly in my eyes and the sound of beeping filled my ears, but soon I was gone again as a pressure filled my stomach. I wanted to move but was immobile. My wrists were restrained and my legs held down, and soon a sharp needle stuck into my arm and I begun to fall away again.

Completely worthless. Completely overdosed.
