The Flute Player (1)

"Your test results have come back," the doctor said as soon as the door closed. I nervously looked at him, fidgiting.
"And?" My voice was barely audible. I watched him closely as he went behind his desk and to his files. I couldn't see anything in his eyes, his body language didn't suggest anything. I wanted him to hurry. I had a concert to perform in tonight, and I couldn't be late. One Direction was counting on me to play my flute with them.
"I'm sorry, Leah, but the results aren't good." The doctors eyes were sympathetic, and went on to explain the details. I didn't listen. From that moment on, I knew that the dream I was living would come to an end.

14. Waking up

Leah's Point of View

My eyes fluttered open and the sound of snoring and birds singing filled my ears. Where was I? Slowly I moved my head and nearly screamed. How come Harry Styles was beside me??? It slowly all came back to me then, the boys jumping out of the closet, goofing off with themand eventually inviting them to sleep over. Though, I couldn't remember why I was beside Harry... hadn't I said I was to sleep on the couch? Wait... Right. I remebered I was super cold, and Harry told me to lay beside him, and I did. It was really warm beside him, I must've gone to sleep straight away.

Now, though, I was ready to get up and... play my flute! I started to slowly get up, but then I realized I might wake the boys up... they wouldn't mind, would they? I shrugged. Who cares if they didn't, they can always sleep another time.

I got up and headed over towards my music stand and put together my flute, and started playing scales. Five minutes later, I took out my music folder looking for a song to play.

I usually went to the slow, pretty songs, the songs where the words make you cry. Those always sounded the best on flute. I had printed off various free sheet music from the interent, but had also bought a few books. There. I would play 'My Heart Will Go On', that's a pretty song. I put the song on the stand, and started to play.

Harry's Point of View

The sweet music entered my ears and woke me up. I was about to complain, but then listened. It wasn't just any music. It had a distint sound to it, an intrument which sounded like it had been played for years. Determined to know where that sound was coming from I opened one eye, and then the other. From my position lying down I had a sideways view of Leah playing the flute. She looked astonishingly pretty in the morning, I thuoght to myself. I lay still for a few more minutes as she played more and more songs. It sounded beautiful. It was the perfect way to wake up in the morning.
