The Flute Player (1)

"Your test results have come back," the doctor said as soon as the door closed. I nervously looked at him, fidgiting.
"And?" My voice was barely audible. I watched him closely as he went behind his desk and to his files. I couldn't see anything in his eyes, his body language didn't suggest anything. I wanted him to hurry. I had a concert to perform in tonight, and I couldn't be late. One Direction was counting on me to play my flute with them.
"I'm sorry, Leah, but the results aren't good." The doctors eyes were sympathetic, and went on to explain the details. I didn't listen. From that moment on, I knew that the dream I was living would come to an end.

33. Going home

Leah's Point of View

Wearily, I dragged myself out of bed and started packing my suitcase. I didn't want to, but I had to. I wasn't even sure if I was going to come back, so I had to clean out the apartment.

When I was done, I picked up my phone and phoned Harry. I needed a ride back to the airport.

"Hey, Leah!" Harry said as he picked up the phone. "What's up? We were going to go to the studio today, and I was wondering if you had wanted to come and play a bit of flute."

My heart dropped in sadness. I really wanted to take him up on the offer. "I can't, Harry." I sat down on the bed, and let tears fall down my cheeks. "I need a ride to the airport. I have to go home."

"What? Why?" Harry sounded hurt and surprised. "What's wrong? What happened?" He frantically started naming off situations over the phone.

"Stop," I ordered, and he did. "There's... there's an emergancy back home, and I have to go today. So can you please drive me?"

"Sure... I... ya, I guess."

"Thanks so much, Harry! Can you pick me up in like an hour?"

"Sure, see you then."

Harry's Point of View

My day was ruined, totally and absolutly ruined. What kind of emergancy had happened back home? Was she going to come back? Was she lying? I thought about thousands of things that could be wrong, but I was inturupted by my phone ringing.

"Hazza, where are you?!" Louis' voice was frantic over the phone. "We're waiting at the studio."

"Oh.. umm..." I thought for a moment. I might as well tell the truth. "There's an emergancy back home for Leah, so I'm going to drive her to the airport. I won't be able to come today, sorry, mate."

"Ohh..." Louis then hang up.

Throwing my phone on the couch, I decided to eat, so I made myself a sandwich, waiting for Leah to call and tell me she is ready.
