Ally's POV

Will turned the doorknob and pushed the door open.

I expected to see my cousin, someone, maybe staring into a mirror and thinking he was the shit.

But I was wrong…. Oh I was very wrong.

My cousin wasn’t by a mirror. He was standing there, smiling at me, expression amused.

At the exact same time, I was stumped.

My cousin wasn’t just some guy that thought he was the shit….

“Uh…” I was speechless as I stared at Nathan.

He wasn’t just you ordinary Nathan.

He was Nathan freaking Sykes from The Wanted.

Uh…. Wait… WHAT???

Nathan Sykes is my cousin?

Oh My Gosh…. Nathan Sykes is my cousin.

The Nathan that I fancied was my….

Oh-Kay… Hold on, I have to swallow back some bile.

Eeew… Gross, I had had a crush on my cousin?

Dang, that’s disgusting.

I mean, yeah, Nathan’s smoking but that was just so wrong and…

I still can’t get it into my blimey head.

Whoa… look at me. An hour in England and I was doing what mom wanted.

I was turning British.

It was like a switch was thrown and I gave in to my British half.

“So, I take it you didn’t know I was your cousin,” Nathan said, amused.

“Uh… huh?” I couldn’t yet get over my surprise.

“By your expression. You didn’t know I was your cousin.”

I just nodded, unable to conjure up words that actually made sense.

“What did Aunt Soph tell you about me?” he asked.

“That you were in a garage band called ‘The Hearted’.”

He chuckled, “Of course, you can’t trust Aunt Soph to remember names.”

I laughed along with him.

When I do (if I ever do) get over the fact that Nathan Sykes is my cousin, then I knew Nathan and I would get along perfectly.

“Anyways, let me introduce you to the lads,” he said then focused his attention to the guys who I hadn’t noticed were scattered off behind him.

I just nodded, as I followed him.

My cousin, the Nathan Sykes, was going to introduce me to his band, ‘The Wanted.’

“This here’s Max,” he nodded towards Max, “Of course, you must’ve already known that.”

I just nodded, as I shook hand with the Max George.

Damn, I hoped they didn’t think I was a girl that didn’t know how to say anything but only replied with a nod.

“A pleasure babe,” Max said, winking at me, at which I blushed.

“This is Jay,” Nathan said as he pointed at the curly haired guy in the corner, playing with his phone.

Jay took a second to look up, send me a wave and turned his attention back to his phone.

“That’s Siva,” he pointed at the skinny guy that had just disappeared into what looked like the kitchen.

“Oh hey Ally,” Siva screamed out fro the kitchen.

The next thing I heard was someone (Siva) rummaging through the fridge.

“Uh… hey,” I called back.

Nathan headed over to the guy knocked out on the sofa. He hit him on the shoulder but the guy just stretched his arms, turned around and went back to sleep.

“Hey Parker,” Nathan yelled.

The guy continued to snooze, undeterred at all by Nathan’s yell.

“PARKER!!!” Nathan tried again.

No response.

“Sorry about this Ally,” Nathan apologized, “He’s not always this annoying.”

“Uh… it’s noth--”

“Hey Siva,” Nathan interrupted.

“Yeah Nate?” Siva responded. The sound of fridge being rummaged into stopped.

“Get me some cold water from the freezer, will ya?”

Yea, sure thing mate,” Siva said, “Parker’s still not responding again?”

Nathan chuckled, “Uh… yeah. Again.”

A second later, Siva entered the room, a huge bucket of what I assumed to be cold water, in hand, a bag of crispies in his mouth, between his teeth.

“Thanks mate,” Nathan said, as he took the bucket, “Parker, I’m giving you three seconds to wake up or ELSE,” he yelled the last word, as he held the bucket over the still very much asleep Tom, threateningly.

“Uh… Nathan?” I interceded before he did anything drastic.

“Yea, couzzie?” he asked, a wicked gleam in his eye.

“I can… uh… meet him when he’s awake,” I suggested, feeling sorry for Tom.

I mean, he didn’t deserve to be pelted with cold water because he wanted to sleep. It was 4 in the morning here, and he had the right to be tired, right?

“Nah,” Nathan disagreed, “What would that make me? A bad host. My friend’s should meet you right now,” he paused, “And besides, this is a meeting, I’m sure poor Tom wouldn’t wanna miss.”

“Oh,” I muttered.

“Parker wake up,” Tom made no move to do so, “See Ally? He doesn’t listen. ONE,” he started counting as the other guys started egging him on, “TWO,” he started to tilt the bucket, “Last warning Tom,” at seeing his friend not listening he yelled, “THREEE!!!”

There was a loud splash as I saw the entire contents of the bucket dramatically land on the unsuspecting guy.

Nathan and the rest of the guys erupted into laughter.

“WHAT THE BLIMEY HELL?” I heard a husky voice yell in his British accent as Tom jumped to his feet and surveyed his current state.

He turned on the laughing guys, “WHAT THE HELL?” then seeing the bucket with Nathan, he continued yelling, “SYKES! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, YOU PPRAT!!!”

I just stood there, watching the scene.

Tom was too busy yelling at my cousin to notice me.

Nathan held up a finger dramatically, “Shh,” he shushed.

Tom looked like he was ready to cut Nathan’s finger off.

“I don’t believe you’ve met my cousin, Parker,” he said as he came and stood next to me.

Realisation dawned on the soaked boy as he turned around.

“Uh…” he didn’t know what to say.

“Uh… hey,” I said, “Name’s Ally.”
