42. The Decision

Ally’s POV

I was shocked at the scene before me whereas Nate, Tom and Jay continued conversing as if the sight of Siva eating ten pancakes, 4 bacon strips and 4 scrambled eggs was an everyday occurrence.

I continued to stare at the Irish as he shoved three pancakes into his mouth in one go.

Were Irish boys always this hungry?

Niall was the big eater for 1D and as I was witnessing now, Siva was the one for The Wanted.

And to think that I was thinking of force feeding him because of his thinness.

This was so wrong and unfair.

How could Siva and Niall, who both eat a lot, maintain their current size?

Fast metabolism? Drugs? Exercise fanatics?

“Stop staring,” Siva grunted when he caught me staring. “It’s scary.”

“Scary?” I asked flabbergasted at his definition of scary. What he was doing was scary. “Scary? You’re eating… like a … uh… never mind.”

“It’s alright babe,” Tom reassured me as he wrapped his left arm around me and squeezed. “You’ll get used to it.”

Nathan growled a bit and Tom instantly withdrew his strong arm.

“What d’you guys have planned today?” I asked them.

“Fan signing at Hollisters,” Jay answered.

“Okay.”

“Wanna come with?” Nathan offered.

“Nah, it’s alright. Got plans.”

“With them?” his tone soured.

I nodded.

“Als,” Nate started, “I don’t like them.”

“Nate you need to grow up,” I stated. “This band rivalry thingy is really immature and unprofessional.”

“They’re buffoons that can’t sing,” Tom said.

“They can,” I defended, anger laced into my tone as I stabbed a fork into a pancake.

“They’re only famous for their face,” Nate added.

“Really?” I asked. “Their face?”

They all nodded this time in complete agreement.

“So what you’re saying is that we buy their albums so we can listen to their face?” I snapped as I glared at all of them.

They were all gob smacked and didn’t know what to say.

“I'm done,” I grunted out as I placed my half full plate into the sink and marched up to my room and slammed the door.

I just needed to calm down.

Calm down and relax.

I grabbed my outfit for the day and laid it out on my bed as I jumped into the steaming shower.

The only sound I could make out was the stream of water hitting me and the sound of me humming along to ‘Kiss You’. The entire house was eerily quiet. That was odd. It was always noisy and I had to scream to get them to shut up. Was mom back?

Minutes later, I got out of the shower and got dressed in a pair of mini shorts from Bally and a red sleeveless tee.

As soon as I was putting on my rose red lip balm from Forever 21, a knock echoed throughout my room as someone stood outside.

“Come in,” I cried out as I tucked a stray lock of my hair behind my left ear.

The door opened and in walked one of the most unexpected person I thought I would be seeing.

Will.

“Hey Als,” he said as he leaned against the door frame, looking effortlessly hot with his hands tucked into his jean pockets.

“Hey Will,” I said back as I forced a smile. “What brings you here?”

He shrugged as he said, “here in your room? Or here in the house?”

“Uh… both?”

“Well, I came to hang out with the lads,” he replied, “But then when I walked through the door they were all wondering how to say sorry to you. When I asked what for, they basically pushed me up the stairs and begged me to talk to you.”

“So you here because of them?” I asked as I stared at my red painted nails.

“Yea,” he began, “but I had a feeling you needed a friend. So what did those arses do this time?”

I laughed.

“Arses?” I asked.

“It’s a British term for ‘jerk’, ‘asses’ and y’know the likes of it.”

“I know what arses are, you arse,” I teased. “But… uh… nothing. I forgot what I meant.”

“Ms. Forgetful aren’t we?” his dark eyes lit up with humour. “So what did they do?”

“Nothing really,” I answered.

“Nothing? You sure?”

I nodded.

“Siva’s refused to eat anything and Jay is ignoring his phone. That’s not normal and Nate left the kitchen in disarray. He never does that. He’s the neatest guy I know and something is really eating him up,” he said.

“Fine,” I began. “We just had a huge disagreement.”

“One Direction?” he asked as he smiled knowingly.

“Yea. What is up with this band feud anyway?”

“It’s just differences,” he replied.

“Artistic differences or boyish differences?” I inquired.

“They’re just,” he started, “uh… envious of One Direction.”

“Envious? What for?”

“One Direction’s more popular than they are. They perceive them as competition.”

“But I don’t understand why that has to involve my life.”

“Nate just, well… he doesn’t like associating family with business,” Will said.

“But they’re my friends,” I argued.

“I know,” Will nodded. “But Nate doesn’t.”

“He does. I’ve told him a million times,” I pointed out.

“He needs to know that he can’t come between your friendship with anyone.”

“What to I do? Hit him with a bat until he gets it?”

Will’s eyes widened.

“What?” he asked. “A bat? Why would you wanna hit him with a bat?”

I laughed at his freaked out expression.

“I was just playing with you,” I said. “I’m not a psychopath.”

“You sure about that?” he asked.

“Hey,” I argued.

“Just playing with you,” he laughed.

“So what do I do Mr. My-dad’s-a-MI6-agent?”

“Mr. my-dad’s-an-MI6-agent? Seriously?” he asked.

“Just get on with it Will,” I prodded.

“Just let him know what ya think,” he replied.

“What do I do?” I asked again, hoping for a clarification.

“I got,” he exclaimed. “Blackmail him.”

Without another further clarification on that, he clasped his fingers around mine and pulled me out of the room.

“NATE!” I called out as we entered the living room.

Jay and Tom were both sitting by the telly [I was really turning British. What happened to TV?] and playing a car racing game thingy.

Max [who had come with Will] and Nate were by the sofa, watching Jay pummel Tom whereas Siva was missing.

“Yeah?” Nate answered as he looked up and I immediately caught his eyes narrow in on Will’s fingers still entwined with mine.

Will immediately pulled his fingers away from mine and took a huge step away from me.

I really needed to have a talk with my dear cousin about his suspicious mind.

If this continued, he would accuse the entire London teenage boy population of wanting me before I left.

“I want you to know that I’m gonna hang out with the boys,” I began and I saw his eyes darken, “and you aren’t going to be against it. Okay?”

“But Als --” he started.

“No ‘buts’ Nate,” I cut him off. “They’re my friends. I’m already dating Liam, so you already failed.”

“But…”

“Nate, if you go against me, I’m… I’m,” what do I blackmail him with?

“You’re what?” he asked.

“I’m out,” I found myself saying with no hesitation.

“Out?” he asked. “What d’you mean you’re out?”

“I’m moving out,” I explained, my voice echoing loud across the room as silence dawned.

“WHAT?” Tom ignored his crashing car as he jumed up and stared at me. “NO! YOU CAN’T LEAVE!”

I stared at him.

My good friend wouldn’t let me leave. He really was a kind heart that had no ulterior motives towards me. He just cared about me like a friend.

“Tom, we can still hang out,” I assured him.

“Why do you have to leave?” he asked, having not hearing our argument as he tried to beat Jay.

“I’ll leave if Nate goes against my friendship with One Direction.”

“Why do you need to be friends with them so bad?”

“I need some company and El is so sweet.”

“We can be your friends. I can keep you company.”

“I need other friends to Tom.”

“So you’ll leave if Nate doesn’t accept it?” he asked.

I nodded.

“Is this because of the comment about their faces? We’re so sorry about that Ally.”

“I know,” I muttered. “So what d’you say Nate?” I asked my cousin.

He didn’t say anything at all.

“Nate?” I tried again.

He continued to stare at the ground as if he was trying very hard to find something that wasn’t there.

“Nathan, she can’t leave,” Tom said.

“So you like them now?” Nate accused Tom.

Dang, he really liked to accuse people.

“Not really, but it’s for Ally’s happiness,” Tom said.

I smiled at him.

“Who here agrees with Tom?” Nate asked everyone in the room.

Will immediately raised his hand.

“Figures,” Nate muttered under his breath. “You put this in her Mind?” he accused, yet again.

“Nate,” I warned.

“Who else?” he asked.

Slowly Max raised his hand, and then followed by Jay.

“But we don’t like them, just putting it out there,” Jay added.

I smiled. At least it was a start.

“What about Siva?” Nate asked. “It needs to be the entire band.”

“I’m raising my hand you prat!!!” I heard Siva yell from somewhere.

“What?” Nate yelled good-naturedly. “You think I can see through walls?”

“I’m raising my hand Nate. Just get on with it,” he yelled back.

“Fine,” Nate muttered in defeat. “I won’t go against it but I can still call them ‘prats’.”

I laughed and nodded.

“Deal.”
