The Champion: The Legend of the White Magnolia

(("I love good and pleasure, I hate evil and pain, I want to be happy and I am not mistaken in believing, that people, angels and even demons have those same inclinations."
- Nicolas Malebrance))

Demons and Angels have always fought each other, ever since the first sun rose up, they have sought to kill one another. In every single history book, they will be mentioned shedding the opposites blood. It is inevitable.

But also, in such history books, a single person is mentioned. A Hero. A Savior. A Champion.

7. Chapter 2 - Artemis

Chapter 2.

One shot.

The dead body fell to the ground with a hole straight through his head, a perfect shot. She walked over to the corpse, whose blood was streaming down the sand of the desert.

His mule had fallen in the sand, and when he had stopped to help it up, she had shot him from afar up in the air.

The mule was now writhing in the sand and got it in the eyes and was crying from the pain, as it had gotten entangled with the straps and bags.

As she knelt next to it, she pulled out her knife and tried to calm it with petting it and letting out soothing sounds, before cutting the straps and freeing the poor creature.

She quickly flew back as the mule hurried to its hoofs and began fleeing in panic. She looked at it running away, well knowing that it was the wrong direction, but she didn't care.

She calmly landed next to the corpse and tried not to disturb the sand around him. She began cutting open his clothes to expose his darker skin. Even though she preferred her food cold, she was too hungry to find another victim and slowly began to cut him open, and as she sliced him open his blood only began streaming even more so and got mixed with the sand around them. She licked her lips with her sharp tongue, before taking the first bite.

As she was feasting on the flesh she found it rather salted. Unlike other Hunters, she wasn't eating it with a vile manner, and managed not to get blood everywhere on herself. Soon there weren't much left besides his bones and she smiled satisfied.

Her ears suddenly shot open as they caught very specific sound waves in the air coming from high above, and she looked up to identify where it came from.

The sky was a wasteland of blue with not a single cloud around, and the only thing in that wasteland was the burning sun and a single comet, flying in black.

She gave a smug look as she stood up from her food. Her wings unfolded from her back and she took off from the ground. The wind coming from her wings caused the sand to rise and whirl around as it covered the corpse.
