The Champion: The Legend of the White Magnolia

(("I love good and pleasure, I hate evil and pain, I want to be happy and I am not mistaken in believing, that people, angels and even demons have those same inclinations."
- Nicolas Malebrance))

Demons and Angels have always fought each other, ever since the first sun rose up, they have sought to kill one another. In every single history book, they will be mentioned shedding the opposites blood. It is inevitable.

But also, in such history books, a single person is mentioned. A Hero. A Savior. A Champion.

6. Chapter 1 - Dominic

Rain. He hated rain so much.

As he walked down the streets of Dockmoore the rain poured down on them all, and everyone except him carried an umbrella. But it was normal that it would rain in Dockmoore during the summer.

Why was it again that he had bothered to leave the house? Everyone just glared at him, with knifes in their eyes.

It was well-known that Angels were very attractive, yet it was a despicable thing to have physical contact with one. Only worse if a child came out of it. An Abomination, is what they're called.

What he's called.

His mother was a proud African-American woman that lives in Dockmoore. She was as beautiful as she was clever, but just so was she terribly shallow and easily gave in to lust. His birth was the results of her flaw. Only the rarest of people would accept him, even his mother and unknown father had decided he'd be better off dying alone on the harbor.

Yet they didn't know much about Abominations, no one really did except themselves.

An Abomination have a very short lifespan, and therefore they grow rather rapidly. It was only 10 years ago that his mother had abandoned him, and already now was he at the same size and maturity of a 20 years old man.

They're also invincible, within limits. They can't die from starvation nor thirst. They wont die even if you rip out their heart. They can only die of age or sacrifice. Suicide. There have been no examples of an abomination dying any other way than of age or by his own hand. At the same time, not many Abominations have lived as long as he, as not many could carry out the pressure of being born like this.

A monster. An Abomination.

They looked so out-of-place, his white wings. He had gotten his fathers attributes, yet he had his mother's skin, hair and eye color Dark brown.

That was one thing, out of two, that made him stand out the most.

Angels were always fair-skinned, with blond hair and either blue or completely white eyes. They also had wings and a halo.

A halo he didn't have.

His dreadlocks absorbed the rain and they felt heavy hanging from his head, as he walked through the crowded street and its evil eyes that watched him and his every movement.

He had before been stopped by the police and it was at moments like those that his wings became handy. Although since he's not a pure-blooded Angel, his wings didn't work as well.

People spat at him, called him names and spoke of rumors that were nowhere near true, but people still believed in them. And they still hurt him.

He got a sudden reminder as to why he had left the basement, and smiled as he saw whose name stood on the screen of his phone. He had promised her to come and eat with her after school, as she hated the food in the canteen at the school, but his smile was just as quickly gone as it had appeared.

It was a distress call.
