Boys, Boys, Boys

Cynthia, Holly, and Vannessa. Best friends forever, no matter what, but then... High School.

CYNTHIA: Self-image problems. Abused. Mom lives in a different city. So of course, the first guy who tells her she's pretty, or the first guy who asks her out, she can't say no. But what happens when she gets so caught up, she becomes known as the new school whore...

HOLLY: Small, short, adorable. The three words that she was called on a daily basis. But was that what she wanted? No one thought this nice, small girl could ever be involved with such a rude ass boy, like him...

VANNESSA: New school, new town, new people, and of course, new friends. So, the first group that offers her a spot, she takes it. Was it the right choice? Especially when the boys of that group, get a little too close for comfort...

Will these boys take control over their friendships and lives? Or will they stick together through it all?

6. Holly-Butterflies

I was searching through my drawers trying to find my favorite pair of shorts. They were a pale blue with little rips below the pockets and rhinestones outlining the hem. Next, I looked for my mint green tank top and threw a white cardigan over it. I grabbed my white sandals and my favorite diamond earrings along with my silver heart locket. I ran to the bathroom to touch up my already straightened hair. I secured it with a bobby pin on one side. Lastly I layered my eyelashes with my favorite Covergirl mascara, a hint of blush, and just a dab of vanilla honey lip gloss. I walked over to my full body length mirror. Rotating my head sideways just to make sure every angle of my body looked right. Satisfied, I grabbed my beige mini tote bag and went down stairs to wait for Vanessa.

I was sitting on the couch eating a banana I kept shaking my foot nervously.Tonight I was going to "Summer Bash" in the park. It was the last one of the year.  It was already September but it was still 90 degrees outside. Vanessa is coming over and spending the night. Were meeting Cynthia and some of my other friends there. I'm so nervous though because I'm only going to this event because Andrew invited me. My friends were just going to accompany me. I'm mostly going to be hanging out with him the whole time. Andrew and I are already going to homecoming together in 3 weeks (which I'm very excited for) but before then he wanted to hang out. I must admit I'm super nervous for tonight. And majority of the time I'm never nervous when I'm with him. But I don't know, just knowing that were gonna be somewhere other than school, and with not so many people around..just us. Gives me butterflies. I sat there for 20 minutes thinking of possible scenarios of what could happen tonight before Vanessa got there.

*Ding Dong*

I ran to front door and wrapped her in the biggest hug.

"HI! oh my god. I've missed you so much!" She hugged me back.

"Me too! Ah! Come on, come inside". I Grabbed her overnight bag and dropped it by the door. I took a step back for a moment to honor Vanessa's outfit. She never failed to impress me. Her long dark brown hair was straightened perfectly, it fell just right above her waist line. I was so jealous. She was wearing dark denim shorts, and a gray halter top with a white tank top underneath. Followed by a matching linen white sequined scarf. She smelled like a mixture of coconut and raspberries. And her make-up looked perfect. Why? Why must she be so perfect?

"Holy crap. You look freaking stunning. Gosh I hate you.. whore.!" I playfully pushed her.

"I love you too." She pushed me back. "But thanks girl. You look pretty hot yourself. Andrew is going to melt when he sees you." She winked at me. Of course. Vanessa would. Ever since I had called her a couple nights ago telling her everything. And how Andrew asked me to homecoming..she wouldn't stop bugging me about him.

"Oh hush." I blushed sheepishly. Hoping she would't notice.

We walked over to my couch and sat down. I grabbed her a kit-kat bar from the pantry, cause I knew she'd ask for one anyways. Its our ritual everytime she comes over. I unwrapped mine as I sat down next to her.

"And I wouldn't be talking if I were you. Cause If your boy Adrian saw you right girl he'd faint."

"Oh shut up!"

I could see her blushing right back. Vanessa had told me all about her new friends she's made. And about the two boys Hector and Adrian. She says there both flirts, but doesn't think anything of it. But I beg to differ. My best friend is gorgeous that's why I'm sure there not just "Flirting". One of them probably likes her..or both.

"So"..Vanessa said changing the topic. .."are you nervous for tonight?"

Vanessa was going to be there to acompany me with Andrew. Cynthia is suppose to accompany me too but for some reason she gets all quiet everytime I mention anything about him.

"Yeah. I don't know why I am, But I just am. And you know how I told you weeks ago how I was going to try and stay away from him? Well...girl it didn't work, cause I now I really like him. And I guess i'm just so worried for tonight... cause I don't want him to turn out to be the "Player" Andrew we all know him as."

Which was true. At the start of the school year I didn't want to get involved with him..but I just couldn't help myself. He's just so nice, and funny, and attractive. He just..took over me.

"Well, just play it cool. You don't want him to know you're nervous. And besides I'm sure he'll be nervous too. And Holly, even in the end Andrew does turn out to be the "player" just don't worry about it. Enjoy him now, and just enjoy each others company tonight. Okay girl?"

"Yeah. Okay." I agreed.

"So you ready to go?"

"Yeah. Let's go."

Vanessa and I were walking to the park since it was just a couple of blocks away. I grabbed my tote and she grabbed her phone and her wallet. We hooked arms and out the door we went.

When Vanessa and I arrived we were greeted by a large group of my friends. I looked around for Cynthia but I didn't see her anywhere. Maybe she'll get here a little later I thought. They all kept squealing and pushing me because of the whole situation with Andrew. It seemed like they were more excited than I was.   And for some strange reason I didn't really want to see him. But obviously that wasn't going to happen because walking my way was Andrew and his crew..

As he approached me he caressed me in a tight and warm hug.

"Hey cutie." He whispered in my ear.

His hot breath sent chills down my spine. And his soft hands were on  back, with my hands around his neck. He smelled like collogne and mint gum. When he finally broke away from the hug, all of my friends and his friends were all smiling at us like idiots.

"What?" I asked casually.

"You guys are so freaking cute together! oh em geee!" Squealed my friend Alexis.

"Uh thanks. haha" I laughed awkwardly. I could tell Andrew felt awkward too. He pulled my waist towards him. And whispered in my ear again.

"Lets get away from everyone."

And before I could say anything he grabbed my hand and we sprinted away from all of our friends.

I looked back at of them they were smiling and cheering for us. Vanessa was mouthing something at me, but I could't see well. Once we were far enough we sat down on a stone bench behind a tall hedge.

"There crazy aren't they?" Andrew laughed.

"Right? I mean were just friends. Haha" I laughed back. I looked up at Andrew. He wasn't laughing. 'Um, maybe I shouldn't of said that' I thought.

"Well.." He grabbed my hands and my fingers intertwined with his. .."I mean do you"

"What?" I think I knew what he was going to say. But I didn't want to hear it. I quickly changed the topic. And broke away my hand from his.

"Hey, do you wanna go sit somewhere else there's a lot of mosquitoes over here." I mumbled quickly. Interrupting him.

He looked confused for a sec. Like why I let go if his hand and why I changed the topic so quickly, but he went long with it.

"Oh yeah, you're right. Lets go." He stood up quickly and waited for me to follow. He took hold of my hand once again and we walked over to a bridge that was hovering over a river below. Off in the distance I could still hear the sounds of the bands playing, and little kids screaming. I realized we had walked pretty far. But I was pretty positive Vanessa and some of Andrew's friends were spying on us, because I kept seeing movements behind a bush not to far from us.

I leaned into the bridge while resting my arms on the railing. I stared into the water below me, and I could hear him coming closer.

"So.." Andrew came up from behind me and snaked his arms around my waist "..Are you excited for homecoming."

"Duhh. Were gonna have so much fun." I tried to act casual and was hoping he couldn't hear the nervousness in my voice. With his strong muscular arms around my waist.. it just sent tingles through out my body.

"Heck yeah. There's honestly no other girl I'd rather go with than you Holly."

I turned around after he said that and looked straight into his gorgeous green eyes.

"Yeah. Really. I'm so glad I met you, honestly. You're hella chill and funny, and...

"And what?"

He stumbled a little when it came out. "...Beautiful."

He was silent after that. My ears were ringing. Wait, did he just say I was..Beautiful? He did. Whoa this was all too much. Just five weeks ago this guy was just someone I knew. Someone who I had barley talked too. He was known as the "Player" since 7th grade. And now here I am on a warm summer night standing with the so called player on a bridge while we look into each other's eyes, and his arms wrapped around my waist. I felt like I was the game and now he was just playing me. Because I know for a fact, that I'm definitely one of many girls he's told this too. And is he lying? I'm not beautiful. I look in the mirror and staring back at me is an ugly troll. This guy is crazy.

"Um, well thank you."

I realized the quickest way out of this was to just change the topic and go find my friends especially Vanessa. I just felt so confused.

"Hey um, I'm thirsty do you wanna-

"Shhh." He said pulling me in so close I could smell his minty breath and our lips were only inches away.

"There's something I've been wanting to do all night...and Holly I won't let you go anywhere until you let me do it..

Oh god. What was he talking about? I could feel butterflies stirring up in my stomach. My heart was beating so fast I wonder if he could hear it too.

..."Do what?" I said hesitantly.

.."Do this."

And Before I knew it my lips were now on his. His warm soft lips, were smashed together with mine. Everything was spinning. I finally broke away, and realized...

Andrew Rason had just kissed me.
