The Angel and The Devil

Desire is an angel. Nessie is a devil. Neither of them fit where their supposed to. But when a chance encounter brings them together, they can't help but notice their similarities. Becoming best friends, they decide to switch titles- and lives. But the punishment if their discovered is as severe as it can get. Will they be able to keep their secret or will they be shunned by their families for the rest of their lives?

14. We're.......We're in Trouble

  Nessie's POV:

"We're......we're in trouble." said Des in a shaky voice.

"What do you mean, trouble?" I asked hesitantly.

Des didn't make a noise, just stared at the floor.

"Des! What kind of trouble? Is it......" I trail off, hoping it doesn't have to do with the Devil/Angel Council. The punishment is...... Well I don't even want to think about it right now.

"They know we switched, Ness." she finally replied.

I couldn't help but gasp in shock. How could they have known? Were we not careful enough? As thoughts spun through my head, making me feel sick, I totally forgot about Desire standing in front of me.

"Ness? Ness? Are you ok? You look sick." I finally heard her concerned voice.

"Yea I'm, fine. Whatever. How are we going to get out of this?" I asked hoping she had come up with something.

"I-I don't know." she looked at me waiting for my response.

"Maybe we should switch back and try to act like our real selves. You an angel and me a devil. Maybe that will set them back a bit in figuring this whole situation out." I said, because it was the first thing that came to my mind.

"Whatever." replied Des and I could tell she wasn't sure about the plan. Neither was I, but whatever. We stood there for a moment just thinking to ourselves and looking around awkwardly, both of us scared of what was coming our way.

Des got the hair dye-wash stuff and we got to work. First we did my hair, because it was already fading. It turned out perfect and I went to do Des'. It took a bit longer but we finally got it out. Then we did hair and makeup. I got my straightner out of my backpack (yes I have it there) and straightend my hair. Then I put on the stupid black eyeliner and I noticed that ever since I "became" an angel, my eyes didn't look bright. I guess it's the eyeliner. Now they stand out.

We switched dresses, shoes, and bags and decided to head to class instead of home, because it was safer. I switched the light off and unlocked the door. Slowly, I opened it. That's when we saw them.
