9. Dyvaol Here I Come

Desire's Point of View:

I look carefully at the adress on my hand. I want to double check that I have the right house so I dont look like an idiot. Or even more of an idiot. Which ever you'd prefer. Once I've double checked I have the adress right, I walk up the steps to the house and open the front door.

"I'm home," I say and I throw my bag on a red chair by the door. A woman, who looks older, walks in the room, "Hey mom."

"Why are you home so late?" The woman crosses her arms.

"I went to the skate park with Tori," I say, following her motion by crossing my arms, "I swear, you tell me to act like a Dyvaol so I do but then you-"

"What did you just say?" Nessie's mom asks.

"Dyvaol?" Nessie's mom nods, "Means devil in Russian. Some girl name Jacie said it and I though it sounded cool so I stuck with it. Why?"

"Are you feeling okay?" Nessie's mom reaches a hand out to feel my forehead but I swat it away.

"I'm fine. I just feel a little different," I say, "I like different. It feels good."

I go upstairs and find Nessie's room. It's perfect. For the first five minutes, I just rub my fingers over everything. The closet, the worn desk, everything. It's so amazing to me.

  This is where I belong.

The next day at school

When I get on the bus I sit next to Victoria, or Tori. We talk about everything, from how annoying school is to how hot the dude sitting four seats ahead of us is. I can tell that we're going to be friends. When I get off the bus, I see Lizzie and Nessie talking and I smile and look away to continue my story to Tori.

I really like it on the devil side of things. The teachers are awesome. No homework. No assignments. No pop quizes. You basically get your daily points for showing up.

I get into conversations with really awesome people, like Nikki and Rebecca who are both in my history class. We sit together at lunch and Tori sits with us too. My day goes by all happy and perfect.

At the end of school I go into the closet and throw my bag before I shut the door. I hear a soft, "Ow" behind me.

 "Sorry Ness!"
