Chasing Dreams -Niall and Harry fanfiction

Caroline Richards. She is rich, gorgeous, but also, she's very sweet. The opposite of what you'd expect from a girl that lives in a mansion with just two other people, right? She's 19 years old, by the way. Anyways, Caroline starts getting bored of the slow life in America, so she decides to move to London, the place she'd always dreamed of living in. She was a big time model, and had the money, so she set off to chase her dreams. Little does she know, that one day in London, would change her life.

15. Safe with You

I rushed up to Jewels, who was staring into the house as if she'd seen a ghost. Her whole face was pale, and her eyes had glazed over, her mouth open in a perfect circle. I followed her eyes, and saw the scene. Ben, I assumed, was lying on the couch, snoring. There were wine bottles and cigarettes everywhere. Well, this was a lot easier than I thought it would be. How did he think we wouldn't find him after Cara had called? I ran over to the police and told them to come. I walked inside, passing Jewels, who Harry was now hugging in comfort.

"Who-o a-are you-u?" Ben slurred.

"You don't need to know. Where is Cara?!" I demanded.

"Yo-o-u ca-an-n't se-e heer-r!"

"Where is she?!" I gritted my teeth and grabbed him by his shirt, ready to punch him in the face. If she was even slightly hurt, I would torture this guy in every single way possible.

"I'm not te-elling you!" His voice was less slurred now. The police walked over and cuffed him. While I stood there thinking. Wait, she said, grey walls over the phone to Jewels. That could only mean...

I broke out into a sprint, heading towards the basement door. There was a lock, but somehow, my 'need' to see Cara, seemed to make me about ten times stronger. I kicked down the whole door, then ran inside.

"Cara?" I walked over to her, and kneeled down. She looked like she had been drugged, and she had a blood stain over her stomach. "Cara, what did he do to you?!" I pick her head up and laid it across my legs.

"Ufff," She groaned, grabbing her stomach in pain. I yelled for everyone, and they were down in an instant. One of the officers went back up to call the paramedics.

"It's going to be okay love," I said, petting her hair. It seemed like I was trying to reassure myself, more than her.

The paramedics got there within the next ten minutes, and brought her to their van. They let me hop in with them. The boys and Jewels went in a taxi. When we got to the hospital, they made us wait in the lobby. I told everyone they could go to a hotel for now, since it was already almost midnight. Jewels insisted to stay though, which I understand. Her and Cara were closer than any two people I had ever known. Jewels said that the longest they had ever been away from each other, was three days! After about half an hour of sitting in silence, the doctor came out.

"Is anyone here for a Miss Caroline Richards?" He announced.

"That would be us," I replied, standing up at the same time as Jewels.

"Are either of you planning to stay here overnight?" He asked.

"I am." I responded, looking over at Jewels for approval. She nodded, grinning slightly.

"Alright. I just have a few papers for you to sign then. Ma'am, you can go on in, while he signs these real quick." He said.

After I signed the papers, I walked into the room. Jewels was sitting by the side of Cara's bed, holding her hand for dear life. They both looked as pale as ghosts, but Cara looked content, laying there in a somewhat restful slumber. The doctor told me that Cara should heal within the next week. But she would have to stay here the whole time. Since the scar on her stomach had been reopened. I sighed and walked over by Jewels.

"I should go now, I have to call someone to go watch over the mansion. Then, I have to book the flights so the boys can get back to London. I don't want them to have to stay here this whole time." She said.

"Okay, I'm staying though. Until she heals completely." I half smiled at her as she left, waving goodbye.

My head felt completely blank. I tried and tried to open my eyes, but it felt like a darkness was swallowing me whole. I didn't know what was happening, so I started to panic.

"Cara, Cara love. You need to calm down." A beautiful voice cut into my head. Then I felt pressure on my hand, and my eyes burst open.

At first, everything was completely white. Then, after about 10 seconds, they got used to the light. My sight was still a little fuzzy, but I quickly took a look around. I was in a hospital room, I hate hospitals, why was I even here? Oh wait... Ben... What happened? I scanned the room, my eyes landing on the person next to me. Niall. His usually perfect quiff, was now matted onto his head, and it looked as if he hadn't showered in days. He had deep bags under his gorgeous blue eyes, and his face was a little bit pale. Why did he look so beat up?

"Well good morning beautiful," He half-smiled.

"Niall... What happened?"

"You don't remember anything?" He asked, looking confused.

"I remember, a knife... That's all. Where's Ben? Where's my sister? What about the boys? Why do you look so tired?" I started drilling him with questions.

"Babe... Slow down! My brain can only work so fast!" He laughed.

"Well... Ben is in jail, your sister is with your mum and dad, the boys are at a hotel, and well... I stayed here with you..." He continued.

"Oh okay, wait... What do you mean you stayed here with me? You look as if you haven't seen daylight in forever!" I said.

"Um... Cara... You've been knocked out... for two weeks... The doctors said that you would only have to stay here for one week... But... I'd rather you not know about the rest. You're okay, and that's all that matters to me." He grinned from ear to ear. Gosh, he still looked absolutely perfect, even though he hadn't slept for days. Wait.. I was out for two weeks?!

"Niall... You didn't... Stay here the whole time.. Right?" I asked, slowly.

"Erm, I did," He smirked.

"What?! Have you eaten anything? You look pale as a vampire! I believe you've also lost a few pounds since I last saw you! I can't believe you would stay here the whole time! I thought.. Well... That Jewels would..." I trailed off.

"Well... Jewels had a lot of work to do. She's been running all over the place, making sure that the news didn't make any twisted versions of what happened. I'm pretty sure that at this rate, she's going to end up passing out in her car somewhere!" He replied.

"Wow," I breathed. I really did have the best friends a girl could possibly have. Especially, the best sister. Also... Niall... Wow, I can't believe he stayed... For ME, of all people! I mean.. you would think it'd be my parents, or my grandparents at that! But no... It was Niall. He deserves a lot better than me. What did he possibly see in me anyway? My life is a complete mess, and I have so much going on, yet, he was still here. Through it all. I could never ask for anything more.

Just then, the door opened, and in came a doctor.

"Wonderful! Miss Caroline! You are finally awake, we were... er, never mind." He trailed off, after Niall gave him a look. I would ask him about that later, but for now, I was way too happy.

"So... When can I leave?" I asked the doctor.

"Actually, if you can walk, you are aloud to leave now!" He exclaimed with joy.

Niall immediately hopped up and walked over to me.

"Do you want to try?' he asked, locking eyes with me, and grabbing my hand.

"Yes," I grinned, and slowly sat up. I actually feel great! Considering I had been asleep for the past two weeks! Then it hit me. I was out for two weeks!! That meant... We would be leaving for the boys' tour in one week. I frowned at this thought as I stepped down from the hospital bed.

"Are you okay? Does it hurt? I something wrong?" Niall started asking as soon as he saw the look on my face.

"Oh no! I'm perfectly fine! Doc, I think I'm good to go!" I looked at the doctor and grinned.

"Great! Well, I'll sign off your release papers. You can go now. If anything starts hurting, please come straight back, and if you feel any pain, you can take some over the counter medicine, yah?"

"Okay! Well, bye doc! Niall, ready?" I looked over at my little Irish boy.

"Yes ma'am," He replied, whilst grabbing my hand and leading me through the halls of the hospital.

"So... Niall..." I started, once we hopped in a taxi a couple minutes after leaving the hospital. "The tour is in one week, huh?" I said with a frown.

"Yes, but you're coming with us! So that will be great," He grinned.

"I guess... I just wish we had more free time, before you went back to the crazy concert life, you know?" I looked him in the eyes, sighing.

All of the sudden, he leaned in, and I felt his lips on mine. Fireworks shot through my body, just like the first time. Wow, Niall was absolutely amazing, perfect actually. As he pulled away, we stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like forever. I wished that we could just live in this moment, always. But, we'll see where life takes us first. The taxi pulled up to a hotel, I'm guessing that this is where the boys are staying. I peeled my eyes away from his and grabbed his hand as we hopped out of the taxi.

"We're going to get the boys, and then head over to your parents' house, okay? Your sister will meet us there." He looked at me, smiling.

I grinned, "Of course."
