Brooke's POV

I focus my attention unto the stage, where One Direction has just finished singing on the Ellen Show, and are now ready for questions. “So, Liam, how's it been without Brooke?” Ellen asks him. “Hard. I miss her a lot.” “What about you boys? We all know Brooke was very close to all of you. Her leaving must have had a big impact on all of you guys.” Ellen says, directing her attention to the boys. “Well, the flat's a mess.” Louis says, a hint of sad humor in his voice. “It's just been really hard. We see how Liam's taking it, which doesn't make it any better, and she was our friend. Our best friend. She helped each and everyone of us. Harry and Louis with their relationships, she cooked all the time for Niall, and she and I would always talk just random stuff.” Zayn says, with all of them having a sad look on their faces. Especially Liam. If only they knew. “So, if you guys could say one more thing to Brooke, what would you say? Zayn?” Ellen asks. “I miss you. Be good.” Louis speaks up next. “Brooke, I know you're not okay. Please, come back to England?” Harry. “Your little Curly misses you.” I smile, because he used the nickname I always call him. “Niall?” “Come back and cook for me!!!” The audience lets out a half-hearted laugh. “Liam? Is there something you wanna say?” “Bo, love, I miss you. Like crazy. I'm sorry for what I did. I love you.” The audience “awws” and my heart shatters from the sadness in his voice. “So, Liam, you could say that the one thing you want to do is...” “Start it all over again.” My cue. “And it's no joke to me. So, can we do it all over again? If you’re pretending from the start like this, with a tight grip, then my kiss can mend your broken heart. I might miss everything you said to me.” The doors in front of me open. The audience gasps when they see me step out. Which figures, because Sarah, Cheradyn, Ellen, and myself are the only people that knew. The boys all turn around to try and figure out what everyone was looking at. Liam catches sight of me. Everything else stops. It's just me and him. “And I can lend you broken parts that might fit like this, and I will give you all my heart.” He gets up and walks over to where he is right in front of me. Like always, he towers over me, but I miss it. His freaking eyes that kill me stare into mine. “So, Can we start it all over again?” I whisper to him. His eyes start to tear up. I stare at him, looking for an answer for my question. He slowly nods, a sniffle coming out of him. I embrace him. He wraps his arms around me. His head sits on my shoulder and he starts to whisper in my ear. “I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I can't believe I did that and you were right to leave and Louis told me that you wouldn't do anything and were pretty much dead to the world and the fan hate and I know how sensitive and insecure you are and I'm so sorry. I am so lucky that you came back. I don't deserve you. I missed you and your laugh and your voice and your height and your hair and I missed holding you and singing you to sleep and holding your hand and telling you how beautiful you are and I just love you so much.” He buries his face in my neck. I'm struck speechless. I literally can't find the words to say. Too much emotion. He pulls apart from me,“Brooke, please, talk to me. Tell me you love me. Please.” I look at him, his chocolate brown eyes filled with tears, “You're not the only one to blame, Li. I did things I shouldn't have and I regret them now.” He shakes his head, ready to say why breaking his heart was okay. I stop him before he can speak. “I love you, Liam. With everything I was. With everything I am. And everything I will be.” “Brooke,” Liam grabs both of my hands in his. “Will you marry me?”
