5. The stranger on the bus

Well, on the bright side, I met One Direction, got a job, and met the love of my life. But I completely blew it, like always. For example, I told my middle school sweetheart, Dean, that I liked him on the last day of school when I knew for a fact that he wasn’t coming back. But then he did and he knew. I continued sobbing when the man next to me tapped my shoulder. “Miss, are you okay?”  “Yeah,” I say looking up.  The man looked familiar. I wiped the tears from my eyes and looked at him again. He looked at me closer and asked “Have I met you?” “I don’t know.” Huh. “Do you go to Oxford?” He shook his head.  The boy was very handsome but smart-looking. He had on jeans and an old t-shirt, covered by a jacket. His carmel hair was spiked up with gel and he was carrying a laptop bag. He helped me feel better about the Liam thing and we got to know each other.  He was a student at Yale studying medicine and was in London writing a book about the Black Plague. He told me a joke and I started laughing so hard I snorted. He starting laughing so hard at my laugh that he was rolling in his seat. Then suddenly we knew what we knew each other from.
