4. Getting prepared

I tried to respond, but I just muffled my breath.  My sister grabbed the phone as I retained my paralyzed position.

“Oh my gosh I can’t believe it! This is a dream come true! Thank you so much!” My sister answered trying to mock me.

I didn’t care though I was too baffled with shock. After it set in I couldn’t help but let a big grin spread from ear to ear. I look at Alice and she just smiled as she was giving the announcer my information.

I looked down to see my hands were trembling and realized how fast I was breathing. I couldn’t believe what was happening! I shed a tear as I realized one of my dreams has come true! I listened to the call to make sure Alice gave all the correct information.  She hung the phone up, looked at me and smiled.

“You’re one lucky bitch!” she chuckled as she pulled into the drive-way.

“Well, what did they say?” I barely could contain my excitement.

“Calm down, they said we can pick up the tickets tomorrow and the concert is next Friday.” ”Then you will spend the next day with the boys.” She glanced at me and smiled, “Do you know what this means?”

“I get to see the band of my dreams? I get to experience an event girls would kill over? I’ll get to meet the very boys whose voices give me goose bumps?  I’ll get to go on the adventure of a LIFETIME!?” I was pouring out my delight as I rambled.

“Would you breathe for one second!” she yelled. I paused from my rambling and looked at her.

“The answer I was looking for was we get to go looking for something amazing you can wear to make their jaws drop.” She smiled, then paused,” but now seeing how you react to just the name of One Direction we need to start some training.” She smirked as she turned off the car.  She popped the trunk and stepped out of the car. I retrieved my bags as I heard Alice yell.

“By the way you should probably not tell mom or your friends about this.” She said sternly.

I dragged my suitcases to the front door where Alice was. She was searching for the key to unlock the door when I answered.

“Why?” I looked at her questionably.

“Well, it’s quite simple. Do you want people to be asking you questions all through the day? What if the night doesn’t go as planned do you really want to discuss that with people?” She gave me a questionable glare as she raised one eyebrow.

“No, I guess.”  I said as I played with my fingers like a two year-old being scolded by their mother. “But why can’t I tell mom?” I shared almost everything with my mom. I don’t know if I can hide something this big from her.

“Really? Kami do you really think mom is going to let her SIXTEEN year old daughter go to a concert with her sister then go hang out with five teenage BOYS by herself? “She gave me the, I can’t believe you’re this stupid, look. I hate that look.

“Alright I get it! My lips are sealed!” I smirked.

“Good.” She giggled as she finally unlocked the door.

I loved my sister’s house. She had the best taste. Every room was decorated to the last detail.  Each room was a different color. The colors ranged from elegant beige to a vibrant orange. It was a Bachelorette pad to a capital “B”. I loved it though it just read freedom.

I walked to the bedroom and set my suitcase in the closet. “I’ll unpack it later” I thought to myself I was just too tired to even think about that. My mind was only focused on one thing. That me, a small town girl, Is about to have an experience that even the richest, snobbiest girl’s dads couldn’t afford. I snickered at the thought as I walked to the living room. This room was a beautiful light blue and it had a great view of the landscape of California. I plopped down on the white sofa and still had a grin plastered on my face. Alice looked at me and shook her head.

“You just got here and I already have my work cut out for me!” she smiled. “We need to start training right now so, go get a pen and paper.” “Welcome to my class called “How to wina celebrity!” she gave me a snob grin. I just rolled my eyes as I went to find a piece of paper and pen.
