3. A Start of a Unknown Journey

I race down the hallway. Finally I’m here! I felt so refreshed! A new environment is defiantly what I needed after spending the year watching cows run around and wanna-be cowboy lasso a fence post. I looked up at the sign above me and it read, “Baggage Claim” it had an arrow pointing down. I looked to see the escalator. I let out a squeal as I dragged my suitcase to it. As I descended I scanned the scene to see if I could spot Alice. My eyes locked in on a skinny blonde that looked like my older twin. Yep that’s Alice! I smiled as I waved. She saw me and waved back hopping in anticipation. As soon as my feet touched the stone floor I started to sprint toward her. I greeted her with a huge bear hug. We both started laughing out of happiness.

“Finally you’re here! I missed you SO much!” she grinned grabbing my suitcase.

“Tell me about it, I’m so glad I’m here!” I said letting out another squeal as I swept a piece of hair out of my face.

“Well let’s go get your other suitcase!” she started to walk to the terminal.

I nodded and followed close behind her. As soon as we reached it, I saw my bag. I picked it up and gave Alice a grin,” well, let’s get out of here!”

As we walked to the car, we chatted about what we had been doing recently and how we were. Alice’s updates were much more interesting than mine… She had just returned from a trip to Holland. A beautiful place and she described it so well it felt like I had went with her. When she asked me what I had been doing my answer was nothing, and that was no exaggeration. I had done nothing. I pretty much went to school, I would return home, eat, check my twitter, then go to sleep. I was kind of intimidated by how much cooler her life was then mine.

When we reached the car I put my suitcases in the trunk and slammed it shut. I plopped in the passenger seat and smiled.

“Well off we go!” Alice smirked.

She turned on the radio as we cruised home. After jamming out to a couple of tunes the announcer came on.

“Alright all you one direction fans better listen up!” I paused on what I was doing and turned up the radio.

Alice rolled her eyes, but said nothing.

“If you want to go to a One Direction’s concert in L.A. and spend a whole day with just you and the boys, you need to be the twenty-fifth caller. The number is 619-555-****.

I grabbed my phone and with wicked speed I dialed the number. I had never won any of these contest, but I always entered them. They were my only shot of meeting my favorite band. My friends back home make fun of me every time I lost, but I believe if  you never try you will never get a chance to receive. I prayed in my head as I hit call. My jaw dropped as the phone started to ring! I shook my sister’s shoulder in happiness as it rang.

Maybe this is the real thing I might be the winner?! I continued my little prayers as I waited on the line for what felt like forever. I growled, “Come on answer please!”

My whole body went in shock, a stunned, motionless, speechless shock as a voice answered, “Congratulations you are the twenty-fifth caller!”
