Can Hate Stop Fate?

Stella, a girl who works two jobs while living life in Chicago is taken for a big surprise when Harry Styles suddenly becomes interested in her. She constantly tries to turn him away but he won't give up. The question remains, can hate stop fate?

6. Chapter 6

(Harry’s POV)

I slowly opened my eyes and glanced over at my clock. It was already 7 AM which meant that I had exactly 20 minutes to get showered and get my stuff together before we had radio interviews all day. Radio interviews were always the best. They were way more relaxed and typically were more fun. Plus, Louis always just goofed off during them so I just constantly laughed all day.

“Hey Romeo! You coming or what?” I heard Louis scream from outside my hotel door.

I opened the door. “I’m coming mate, give me 5 minutes. And please don’t use that Romeo joke all day, I’m already sick of it.”

As I showered quickly I thought about the night before. I wasn’t expecting for Stella to finally give me her number. She seemed so nervous when she was giving me it but within a few minutes she was back to her normal self. When we said bye, right at 2 o’clock, she said she’d see me around. Of course, I don’t think she realized that I heard her mumble “or not” as she walked down the stairs.

Luckily that comment didn’t affect me at all because I had her number and I knew the power was finally in my hands for once.

I stepped out of the shower and dried off. After putting on my clothes, I grabbed my phone and wallet and went out into the hall where Louis was leaning against the wall.

“Texting Eleanor I assume?” I said as I walked next to him.

“You do realize that you say that exact thing to me everyday, don’t you?”

I just laughed in response. Eleanor and Louis were very much in love and even though I didn’t want to admit this to Louis, or anyone else, I was very jealous of the relationship they had. I started to zone out thinking about what it would feel like to have a text from Stella every morning.

“Harry, you there? FOCUS MATE. Have you texted that cheeky girl yet? I like her. She has personality and I think she would really get along with Eleanor which would be great for me so I can finally get out of going shopping every other day with her.”

“Obviously I’m going to date her just so you can get Eleanor a shopping partner,” I deadpanned. Louis looked over at me and smiled but said nothing, still waiting for me to answer his question.

“No, not yet. I need to figure out the perfect thing to say to her so that she can’t deny me…again.”

“You could invite her to a private dinner, or take her to a premiere of a movie or something? You know Simon always tells us that any publicity is good publicity, so I’m sure he’d get you tickets to any show you want.”

“A premiere would probably scare her off. I’ll ask her to get a bite to eat after we’re done with the interviews today.”

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and opened up a new message.

Would you like to go get some dinner after I’m done for the day? Harry xx

I sent the message and put the phone back in my pocket as we entered the van that would be dragging us all around Chicago for the day.

(Stella’s POV)

I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket but decided to wait until break to check it since I knew how much George hated when we checked our phone on the job.

A couple hours later the morning rush finally died down so I signaled to George that I was taking my break and walked to the back room. I grabbed my sandwich out of my bag and sat down while taking out my phone. I assumed it was just a text from my mother asking how things were going and when I would be coming home next.

Thankfully nobody was in the break room besides me to hear the audible gasp that came out of my mouth when I saw that Harry had texted me. I figured that once he finally got my phone number the fun of the chase would be over for him and I would be just another girl.

My hands involuntarily shook as I tried to figure out what to text back to him. Did I really want to get dinner with him? I laughed to myself as I realized I would be an idiot to not at least have dinner with him…he was an international superstar after all.

Sure. Text me the details later, I get off work at 6. - Stella

I put the phone back in my pocket, ate the last few bites of my sandwich, and stood up realizing that the rest of my shift was going to go by very slowly.
