26. Chapter 26

(Stella’s POV)

The taxi pulled up in front of the hotel Harry was staying at.

“Shit,” I heard Harry mumble underneath his breath.I looked out the window and saw a bunch of paparazzi around the door.

“It’s after one in the morning! Why are they still here?” I asked him.

“No idea babe, but I really don’t want pictures to get out of my black eye.”

We both sat there a second before the taxi driver turned around and told us we needed to make a decision.

“You can, um, come back to my place if you want?” I said.

“You sure Leah won’t mind?”

I laughed once before saying, “Trust me, she’ll be okay with it.”

I knew Leah would be pleased to see Harry back at our apartment because then she was one step closer to having Liam ask her on a date.

I gave the driver my address and we drove off, leaving the paparazzi behind us.

(Harry’s POV)

A wave of relief hit me when Stella offered that we could go back to her apartment. Plus, a big part of me was excited that I was getting the chance to stay with Stella tonight.

I glanced over at Stella and watched her as she stared out the window. I reached over and grabbed her hand and she turned and smiled at me.

“You doing okay? I know you’ve gone through a lot today, love.”

“I’m doing okay,” Stella said to me. “It’s definitely a lot to process but at least I didn’t lose you.”

A huge smile spread over my face. How did I luck out so much in finding this girl? I leaned over and gave her a quick kiss right as we pulled up in front of her apartment. I quickly paid the driver and then we headed up to her place.

Before Stella could even open the door all the way, I heard Leah running to the door.

“Stella, is that you?! Are you okay?!”

“Yeah Leah, I’m fine. I had to go to the hospital to see James and Harry. They, uh, got in a fight.”

“Wh-,” Leah cut off what she was saying when she saw me standing in the door.

“Oh my gosh, I didn’t even see you there Harry!” Leah said. “Your eye looks horrible.”

I laughed at her honesty. “Thanks Leah, you know how to make a guy feel great about their self.”

“Sorry! I always speak my mind and don’t have much of a filter.”

“You’re fine! It’s refreshing to have people speak the truth around me.” Leah smiled back at me, relieved that I wasn’t upset.

“I’ll talk to you in the morning about everything Leah, but I need to get Harry some ice and then get him to bed, okay?” Stella said.

“Of course! If you need anything you know where I’m at!” she said as she headed back to her room. She stopped walking all of the sudden and then turned around before saying, “None of the other, uh, boys are coming…are they?”

“No Leah, Liam isn’t coming.” Stella said and I could see Leah blushing from where I stood.

“I hate you.” Leah said sarcastically as she turned back around. Stella just laughed and then walked to the kitchen. I followed her and sat at a stool at the counter while she got an ice pack ready for me. A minute later she walked over to me and held the ice to my eye.

“Oh, that’s cold.”

“Yeah, well it’ll make you swelling go down so it’ll be worth it.”

“I have no doubt my black eye was worth it babe,” I said as I looked in her eyes.

“Well, you ARE the first guy to get a black eye for me so I’ll give you some points for that.”

I pulled her between my legs so she was standing as close to me as possible as I was sitting down in the barstool. I wrapped my arms around her waist. Stella smiled at me as she put her free arm around my neck.

“So, what are your plans for tomorrow?” I asked Stella.

“I actually have a day off tomorrow! What about you?”

“Me too! The boys all wanted to just relax so maybe we could all do something together? I’m sure Leah wouldn’t mind being invited too,” I said with a wink.

Stella laughed as she said, “That’s an understatement. I’m sure she’ll freak out in the morning when I tell her.”

I looked over at the clock and it was already 2 in the morning. I could feel all the excitement of the night catching up with me and I was definitely ready for bed. Stella must have seen my eyes starting to droop because she put the ice pack on the counter.

“Come on, let’s go to bed,” Stella said. “Because trust me, you need your beauty sleep tonight.” She started laughing at her own joke and I laughed along with her as I followed her to her room.
